oh yeah, I understand your point, Lenje. But I think LOCH 2017 is giving nods to its predecessor rather than a marketing gimmick. I haven't seen the Mermaid movie other than the trailer, but I understand that the 1983 OST is such a glaringly different theme to be placed in that movie. One is a modern movie, the other one is a time-tested classic.

I feel that LOCH 2017 isn't that case. I could be wrong, but certainly I hope I'm right...

Personally, I prefer singing/vocals like every other Chinese TV series... but if it don't, then I won't complain. However they approach this with the opening, isn't a huge deal-breaker. I'd like to see overall fighting more Kung-Fu and at least as good as "Romance Of Condor Heroes" fights if not better though.

One thing I've noticed is a LOT of people are complaining about this series, and from what I've seen I couldn't understand it.

It looks really GOOD, to my eyes!

The problem is they still DIDN'T show us that much in these couple trailers, so what they never showed us, I don't want to jump into conclusions about them being not good, and neither should anyone else.

I really don't like the casting or the costume for OuYang Ke in this one. He's a despicable character, but still he had some style. I do like Li Jie from LOCH 2008 as Ou Yang Ke.

Well, considering it has quite a few NEW scenes never seen before I am gonna have to say the producers.

What I have always been looking forward in LOCH is HR being a much better MA fighter on par with GJ. Afterall, she is the daughter of a Great, student of another Great and leader of Beggar Union.

From my understanding of the article, it says that the song Từng Yêu Ai (爱过谁) was commissioned two years ago when they started the production of LOCH 2017 and was intended to be the official song as well as the opening themesong. However, producer has published the opening of the series using the 1983 instrumental for music. The unofficial news is that the production team has changed their mind because they feel the song Từng Yêu Ai (爱过谁) does not reflect the story and is also about YK/YH - the second male lead. No official words yet as to whether the song will be kept as insert or closing themesong or will be completely put aside.

The article also mentions that a LOCH fangroup has attacked the weibo of both the songwriter and singer because they felt the song did not fit the series. They have since apologized.

Regarding the situation with the OP theme, we still do not know for sure yet.

It says "Episode 1" at the end make me think it will be more likely the official opening.

Otherwise it could go either way.
