OMG, this is very important! It shows why Jebe was at odds with Temujin in the first place! And my oh my... the way Jebe used the bow and arrow was AMAZING! They should have not cut this from Ep 2. For me, it would have made up the boring slow-mo fight between Qiu Chuji n Seven Freaks for Ep 2...

Okay jsut watched episode 7+8 how the hell did 1st master/1 freak land two knockdown hits on OYK.........was OYK massive OP in the 2008 edition? because it seems like in that version when he first appeared he was wrecking everyone martial arts wise? this version he seems a little bit weaker?

Sigh...I was crying about that too.
Cannot be helped because OYK 2008 is really too fun. He gave me a lot of those intense feelings! Especially when he was on that one island with HR. The most awesome thing is that although being so smart, plus he has that scary/ fierce look, but, surprisingly he always turn soft hearted on HR every single time when she give him the same old beauty trap. His strong, manly and fierce face doesn't look like he would act soft, so kept me afraid of what will happen next, but he was mostly somehow forgiveful unexpectedly. That's what so adorable about him. Although being a villain, I somehow have the "likes" in him, despite HR so loyal to GJ, I even somehow secretly wished she turn just a bit nicer to OYK and understand his story. She never did, and I love how she never did too, OYK is just meant to be who we love seeing desperate for love.

They're just the old guys but I miss the 2008 Yang Tiexin as well. He did some of my childhood Darktales dramas and I like him too, still handsome although old. Re-realized how strongly everyone was casted in 2008 again. I cannot help but compare although I wish I can stop, just still too in love in 2008.

I find it extremely counterproductive to ban the videos from Youtube, if you want your show to have popularity.

How does ban videos from YT increase the show's popularity??? All it will do is make less people get to see the show.

Studios like Croton is doing it RIGHT, you have an official channel putting it on Youtube. No wonder that show "General and I" is the #1 rated show!

Either Huace is sleeping on the job, or it's as I suspected, iqiyi has the exclusive rights currently.

These are my thoughts:

Ep 7

Very nice first meeting of HR and GJ with HR as a girl. I like GJ’s stunned expressions, and that he was mesmerised with her beauty… but that William Yang also didn’t overdo GJ’s stunned expression. I like it. It was like, “gosh, this girl … is a girl, and she’s so pretty…”

Back to Yang Kang. I like (and hate it) when he

broke the poor rabbit’s leg just to win his mum’s heart again. It is indeed in the novel that YK did that, and I appreciate the production staying faithful, but poor animal, I hope it’s not real…

I’m perhaps the only person, or one of the very few including Luna, who like this version of Ouyang Ke. He was indeed a lascivious person, but that is OYK indeed as described in the novel. He still has that charm as a flamboyant lascivious person, and l like his chuckles and smirks. I’m disappointed that he lost against First Freak, he is supposed to be better than the Seven Freaks. (will post quotes in the next post).

I won’t fight you if you don’t like this OYK. It’s everyone’s right for their opinion. This 2017 OYK, he's not the 2008 OYK, Li Jie was amazing. Li Jie’s 2008 OYK he portrayed the transition from bad to good admirably. LJ's OYK was the YK in 1983 who regretted his way of life and repented before he died (unlike the 1983 Michael Miu YK who only repented once he was about to die – and I wish he was given the second chance...). This 2017 OYK, I think he will remain bad, and I like it too.



Ep 8

Very nice moves of HR vs YK’s men and OYK. Some wires were used, the annoying flying existed, but the nice somersaults and backflips of HR made up for it. Again I have no prob with OYK here, I actually enjoy his presence. One moment of palm/face when HR’s palms touched OYK’s stomach, but then I’m fine again. Of course I enjoy HR’s complete disgust at OYK, I just like it that he managed to stay a charming bastard while also being a disgusting pervert.

Love it that we have the three cups competition, again a nod to the novel. CMIIW, but I think they’re even doing that down to:

Huang Rong laughed and touched her cheek with a finger and said, “Now, now, aren't you ashamed?”

That quote was from Chapter 9 Book 1.

YTX meeting his wife again was so touching, particularly because BXR hasn’t realised that it was her long-lost, thought-to-be-dead husband.

GJ vs the snake guy, GJ demonstrated a nice judo move (or whatever is the equivalent of judo in China) and slammed the snake guy. Very neat, particularly cos you can see William Yang doing that.

Question, what’s the golden rope that OYK produced from his belt for? Was that rope Huang Rong’s?

Okay, these are the quotes from Book 1 LOCH, Ch 8 and 9, about Ouyang Ke. Again, I won't fight you if you don't like this version, cos everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Just to show that OYK's kungfu is supposed to be better than the First Freak, and that OYK is indeed a pervert, or a lascivious person.

Chapter 8 of Book 1 LOCH

Wang Chuyi knew that all the men were of frightening ability. He had experienced the pressure of Ouyang Ke's hand and had displayed internal energy by no means inferior to his own, though it contained a strange viciousness.

If dialogue turned out to be impossible and it became a fight, he was not even sure of being able to beat Ouyang Ke.

He saw that her eyes were bright, her cheeks tender and though still very young, her body was graceful. Her beauty was unsurpassed and none of his numerous mistresses could compare to her.
