    Maybe not HR, cos she won't be around till ep 5. I would love to have a non traditional approach like you suggested, HR being born...(cos then I have Michael Miu there in ep 1!), but I think this production is pretty much by the book...

    With some exceptions like MNC falling/jumping off the cliff (there's no such a scene in the novel, is there?), and HR tearful followed Daddy Miu and left GJ in the Cloud Manor (instead of her jumping into whatever lake that was). I'm fine with the traditional approach too though. The 2008 changes don't sit well with me with their radical changes...

    The second footage with Seven Freaks vs Qiu Chuji was good as well. I love the music, the use of the drums and also the flute, almost invoking a Japanese samurai scene in my mind (Rurouni Kenshin came to mind).

    But the use of the slow-motion is a bit too much for my 80s taste... but i suppose it's just me...

    It's not just you, it's me too. I hope they don't do too much slow-motion stuff throughout.

    We need a more natural hand to hand combat that flows smoothly.

    Nice shout-out to Rurouni Kenshin by the way. Awesome stuff!

    Tell me about it! I find the 1980s OSTs are so grand... the mixture of the grand opening tunes with the mellow tones in the same piece of music was well-executed in those days... I'm so glad that the 2017 LOCH uses the Iron Blood OST, it's the best piece to invoke such a heroic sentiment!

    What's Zhang Ji Zhong era?

    Yeah, I love the Kenshin Trilogy. It's amazing that they barely used slow-mo with Kenshin (and with the 80s wuxia series) and they then achieved so much more with the real speed!

    I suppose I just need to blame Crouching Tiger and also Hero for the slow-mo trend...

    Enough whining from me. I love how emotional the Yangs and the Guos during ep 1 snippet... beautiful...

    Zhang Ji Zhong was a producer/director who adapted JY's work from around 2003-2009.

    That was his era of Wuxia.

    Thanks for posting the videos...

    I guess I'll have to wait until the next day for uploads , as I can't find any working livestream of the DongFang satellite channel that doesn't require dodgy browser plugins.
    Maybe it would be like CondorHeroes2014 where the web broadcast licensees can show the videos at 12am sharp after the TV broadcast.

    I have absolutely ZERO complaints!!!

    Still LEAGUES above all the other TV series - Xian Xia crap, 20 seconds fighting BS, etc.

    according to the video title at iqiyi , the 2minute "official mv" at post #457 is the ending clip ... before they slap the rolling credits on
