Synopsis:

Detective Ji Bai and new criminal profiler Xu Xu may seem like an awkward teacher-student pair at first glance, yet they are actually the best partners in the police force, solving one crime after another. I am looking forward to this drama and dreading it at the same time.

I think the couple is cute and they have chemistry in Ode To Joy, I'm not on the Wang Kai train...he's looks and acting does nothing for me, but I do find the female lead to be very good.

What I am dreading is the whole alpha male and helpless lass story line they have going, hopefully it would be dealt with a lot more respect then simply showing how perfect he is in every way and how she should just bowl her head and listen.

Thanks for the link. I managed to watcb 2 episodes so far. Don't have an opinion of it yet since it's too early to judge.

I like it so far, not too dark and heavy but not rainbows and sunshine either.

I watched three episodes so far.

And I agree with you, it's too early to judge yet. Although I can say I like the pace so far. Not too rushed, nor too slow. And the directing is nice. This drama got a movie feel to it.
But I hate to wait, only three eps in one week. I didn't know this drama is so short, 21 eps only, especially when the eps are only 30min long ....

It's not expensive to be a VIP member, ￥15 (~$2.5)/mo. For most dramas, they are just released faster online than on TV. You still can watch it for free but wait.

Actually... if you really search and no need of subs, I'm pretty sure you'' find it somewhere online without to pay.

I am only on episode 3 but I like the show. I didn't like Wang Ziwen's character in Ode to Joy, but I like her much better here. Her height difference with Wang Kai is so funny lol. My favorite Wang Kai role to date is Ming Cheng from The Disguiser and Ji Bai so far has nothing on Ming Cheng lol but JB is decent so far.

I don't think either actresses that play Yao Meng or Ye Zixi are the beauties that the show described them to be...I guess better than the average girl on the street lol. Yao Meng has cute chemistry with Xu Xu while YZX seems shady (so less likable).

Same as me, I wasn't a fan of Wang Ziwen or Wang Kai's character in Ode to Joy but it was their height difference, the funny sounding name and the plot the told me to give it a try. I've not read the book so don't know what to expect, is the book worth the read? I might pick it up. There is sure to be a Vietnamese translation somewhere.

I watched up to ep 3 as well, since it's only 21 episode I feel more inclined to stick it out. I like the drama so far. I really Wang Ziwen's character right now, Wang Kai's character I am still warming up too. I love chief though, he is funny, such a cute character.
