Synopsis

When Kangxi (Hawick Lau) was sixteen, he eliminated the traitor, Oboi, and his allies. A misunderstanding causes a loyal officer and Chahar Mongol prince, Wei Abunai, to be treated as a fellow rebel, causing his entire family to be sentenced to death. Ten-year-old Liang'er (Zheng Shuang) had to witness the death of her parents and brother. As she was escaping, she met the young Kangxi, who was being pursued by his enemies. Without knowledge of each other's backgrounds, Liang'er and Kangxi undergo life and death. Having left a deep impression on each other, they made a promise to meet again. However, Liang'er loses her memory through an accident. In order to protect Liang'er, her cousin Nalan Rongruo (Vin Zhang) changed her name to Wei Linlang, and took her into his care. The two grew up together and developed a special bond. However, Rongruo's father, Nalan Mingzhu, fearing that Lin Lang's identity would cause trouble for the family, secretly sent her to the palace to become a maid in order to prevent the two from being together.

Lin Lang thought she would end up dying a lonely death in the palace, but the appearance of Kangxi disrupted her life. Her reunion with Rongruo also gave her another ray of hope. Kangxi recognized Lin Lang as the young girl who saved his life as a child, and resorted to various methods to help her remember the past. Meanwhile, Rongruo plans to take Lin Lang and escape from the palace. Stuck between an overbearing emperor and her childhood lover, Lin Lang is at a loss.

It was only after Kangxi fell deeply in love with Lin Lang that he learned she was actually the cousin Rongruo was in love with all along. He decides to let the two lovers be reunited, but a twist of fate causes deeper misunderstandings and missed chances. After going though a series of tribulations, Lin Lang realizes that she has fallen in love with Kangxi. However, at this moment, she recovers her memory and realizes Kangxi was responsible for her family's death. Lin Lang's brother, Changqing, who has been ambushed to the palace as a eunuch, also shows up and reveals his identity to Lin Lang and pressurizes her to seek revenge for their family. Lin Lang and Kangxi thus become entangled in a sorrowful and heart-wrenching love.

I'm watching this series in YouTube with Vietnamese sub (yay, finally a series that I actually understand what's going on 😍 ) I'm on episode 26 (guilty of fast forward here and there. I also watched the every last minutes of the episode 37, I believed that was the end.

Zheng Shuang's character is so pitiful! I hate the queen so much, she's a witch. 😡😡😡
I haven't get to to the part on who separated Ling Lang (???? Zheng Shuang's character) and the king/Harwick yet, all I know was, they got separated and Ling Lang lived in isolation for 25 years and hung herself.
Yeah, I got all of those info from reading the comments 😂

The people in YouTube said the main lead played as the mom of the 8th prince from BBXJ story (with Liu Shi Shi, Nicky Wu & Kevin Cheng series).
Beside the evil empress (the king's mom), I hate the eunuch/Ling Lang's older brother.
I'm not sure when he will recognize that it's his sister he been scheming and hurting.

I recognized the actor Vin Zhang, he's pitiful and miserable too. He had the same facial expression just like in the Peach Blossom series as the 2nd brother from the Ghost World.

Why is this series has to be so depressing? Harwick Lau is so handsome 😱😱😱

I came across it on YouTube and they don't have the full episodes
That series was about ZS's dad killed HL's dad and took over the fabric dye/clothing factory
Later HL killed ZS's dad and bought back the dye factory. ZS started to work for HL.

Idk the name of that series or the ending, can anyone help?
