Eight episodes in and I still don't quite know what to make of this.
An earnest chap, our LHC here. Who looks like everyone's littlest baby brother haha.
Story seems to move quickly which is a plus for me.
I think I like the lead. I find myself looking forward to his scenes.
Some fight scenes were good.
I was surprised that they allowed him to kill. I thought producers would typically prefer to keep their leads clean.
I enjoyed that tavern scene between him and Tian Boguang. I was glad to see the inherent traits of LHC, as JY intended the character to have, come out in that scene.
That sculpted face of DFBB. Pretty. Though the way he'd pose before and after fighting seemed funny to me, which was probably not the effect the producers were hoping to create.
LPZ is pretty too.
I'm afraid I don't quite care for that story between DFBB and LFH. I find myself rather bored by their scenes.
The show feels like a school project (thus far). Though to be fair, I'd just come from NiF2, The Advisors Alliance and Nothing Gold Can Stay, and they were of a different league altogether, I believe.
I think I've seen this Ning Zhongze before in another show. Can't quite place her off the top of my head though. It's driving me a bit batty.
Another thing driving me a bit batty: The abrupt cutting back and forth between scenes.
Watch until Ep 20.
Can someone explain the holder(s) of Sunflower Manual?
1. The full manual or 1/2 the manual is all along with DFBB? If so, how does you obtain it according to this series?
2. Or 1/2 the manual is with LFH?
3. How does DFBB's "sister" (the masked woman/Ren Fei Fei) know Sunflower Manual?
third trailer with new clips
have to spread out the uploads across google accounts and set as unlisted video because the publisher is hunting them down
Nice trailer, thanks!
A pity the broom part was removed but the fight between Chen Something and LHC in Epi 9 was nice nonetheless. This was an enjoyable episode for me. Some slight deviations from the book but I liked the LHC scenes.
Ep 10. The sword fight I’d been so looking forward to - that between LHC and that Feng Something of Huashan Sword Faction at the run-down temple. Not as good as I’d hoped though. Disappointing.
Oh well. Hopefully the one between LHC and the masked men (blinding the masked men) will be better. That should be coming up in Ep 11.
This Yue Buqun seems genuinely concerned about his disciple, LHC. And his gentleman facade is believable too.

There are missing scenes in the web broadcast

example recently episode 20 when DFBB told LHC that he dueled against the Wudang master who preferred to use defensive stance
it's not seen in actual episodes , but the director posted the clip on social media
the synopsis on official Youku platform from early February doesn't match the storyline
DFBB didn't use an alias (white steps) to hide his true identity from LHC , they only met 3 times so far yet portrayed as good buddy
does LHC learn any martial arts beside 9-Dugu, Huashan swordplay, and Xinxingdafa in this adaptation?
(for example ; like the 2014 version, LHC knew the external moves of Bixie Jianfa by spying the qingcheng sect, and show it to his teacher)

That's nice, thanks! They looked like they were having such fun filming.
Back in the opening episodes when I was seeing them together for the first time, it felt like little brother with older sister. But I have now grown accustomed to seeing this LHC and RYY as a couple in the show and am enjoying the chemistry between them.
Thanks, krabs! I wish they hadn't deleted it. One of the better fights in the show to me.
Some of the fight scenes in the show are unexpectedly and surprisingly enjoyable (but of course, don't compare them to those in other shows, or to what actually happens in the book).
Would you happen to know if Ep 21 has aired yet? I'm looking forward to the rest of the fight between LHC and Chongxu.
Let's see, they met for the first time in the scene with the dying Qu and Liu? And then again in that scene with that (ridiculously clichéd and cheesy and absurd) story about that Ren Feifei. The Shaolin meeting was the third time?
Folks in such stories tend to form strong friendships after simply a meeting or two. After one drinking session and it's all "my good brother".

No wonder his performance in the show seems so natural and easy - so that's how he actually is in real life. Same way of speaking, same facial expressions and mannerisms, the exact same way of carrying himself, etc. Exactly the same!
👏🏻 can't wait, can't wait. More for Ep 21 than 22.
