Default Why didn't Wu Ya Zi teach Xu Zhu any fighting skills?

He transferred all his Bei Ming Zhen Qi to him, but why didn't he teach him any external combat skills?

Did he expect Xu Zhu to kill DCQ using Shaolin external arts?

Or has he actually reached a stage where he's a half immortal and know XZ will run into TSTL?

IIRC, the situation did not permit WYZ to properly teach XZ

XZ was not the ideal candidate that WYZ was looking for. But after waiting 30 years, WYZ realized that a "perfect" suitor may not exist. And after his dialogue with XZ, WYZ came to realize that perhaps it was fate that had brought an ugly untalented monk to him, so he decided to pass his internal energy to XZ.

Upon doing so, WYZ lost all the vitality that was sustaining him. He aged rapidly with his hair turning white and his youth fading. So WYZ did not havve time or energy to properly train XZ in external arts.

However, he gave XZ instruction on how to find Wuliang mountain to search for the cave which contains many external techniques as well as Xiao Yao sect's own arts. WYZ also gave him the ring to prove he is now the successor of XiaoYao sect, and told XZ to look for the woman who lives in the cave and seek instruction.

Why couldn't WYZ teach XZ before passing on his internal energy? That's the big question.

He didn't have much time. Even before transferring his inner power into Hui Juk, Mo Ngai Tze seemed to be a guy on his last legs (OK...that was a tasteless joke about a dude who had no legs).

That's the problem. He had been planning this succession for years.

If he was in danger of dying, then he had time to write down every damn move from the Beiming Shengong to the kick in the nuts in preparation for his new student right?

If he was even more complete with the planning, he would have also made Su Xinghe memorise (probably cant teach since Su might fire deviate on the advanced arts) it for the new student. Well, we know Su died but the novel never did say he was part of WYZ's plan.

The whole thing was convoluted so that JY could fit it into the plot IMHO.
