Default Anymore good Wuxia/KungFu/Hand-to-hand combat TV series Coming Up?

Doesn't have to be Jin Yong stuff, but better fights and stories than your typical XianXia! Romance is fine, but not at the expense of plot and fighting scenes!

    info via Kaypang Gallery

unfortunately... nope , not much good wuxia this year, just wait a little longer for next year.

    added to a 2018 list:
    - The Deer and the Cauldron 2018 , jin yong, producer still unknown
    - A Step into the past 2018 , huang yi, producer liang guoguan / liang guojun
    - Your Highness , a spin-off Demi Gods and Semi Devils, the main protagonist is a gamer who travels into the game of DGSD and become most powerful character . expect we would see him vs Xiao Feng, Duan Yu, Xu Zhu, Sweeper Monk, Wuyazi, TSTL?

Well, at least America have good enough TV and movies in the fall/winter time. I am just gonna hold out on Chinese TV series until good ones come thru.

The Legend of the Condor Heroes 2017 was the best I've seen especially with Li Yi Tong as Huang Rong...I think this series has set the bar so high. I keep watching other dramas and none of them were as good as LOTCH 2017. I hope they make a spinoff series of Huang Rong. That would be awesome!

Exactly. Wuxia, done right like LOCH2017, is ABOVE all other Chinese TV series, to me!

Shaw Brothers is also making LOCH, as a 4K 3d animation. Also, there's gonna be a new ROCH TV show starring Gulinazha (古力娜扎) as XLN, and some random guy one has never heard of as YG.

Eh, how come I never heard of this? Gulinazha would be the last person I would expect to star as TV XLN.

    1984 - ROCH good
    1995 - OK
    1998 (Taiwan) - Hmm
    2006 - Yuck
    2014 - Ew

I enjoyed Gulinazha's performance in Fighter of Destiny so a new RoCH staring her, why not? At least the series will be many folds better than the last 3.

BTW, I'm so glad Gordan Chan doesn't have anything to do with RoCH (the movie version). After seeing how he handled Legend of the Naga Pearls...

Also, just a personal preference, after seeing so many excellent mainland animations (King's Avatar, Nanocore, etc.) I doubt HK animations would be as good. Shaw Brothers is based in HK, right? I'm not being biased but mainland costumes r very exotic, and the storyline a little more exquisite than HK productions.

    Accurate.

Shaw Bros are indeed based in HK; They were active from 1925 to 1985, went defunct, and have only recently made their comeback. In case you didn't know, TVB is a subsidary of Shaw Brothers.
BTW: Shaw Brothers is currently collaborating with Base FX (the effects team of Star Wars) and Daylight Entertainment (NiF, Ode to Joy)

If we're talking about 2018 wuxia, I feel the need to add that official english translations of LOCH, ROCH and HSDS are currently being made, 4 volumes each. LOCH #1 will be released on the 25th of January on amazon.de and on 22nd of February on amazon.com
    Condor Trilogy.jpg

I must say the translator seems rather professional:

Well OK. I will give LOCH 4K 3D anime the benefit of a doubt. Though it seems HK cinema is mostly not as before.

But the thing that's bothering me is, Star Wars isn't even that good. So SB going after these "high profile" studios... Most movies that hire A-listed actors/actresses usually do it to mask deficiencies in other areas, so to me this is a bit of a red flag!

P.S: ROCH 2018 certainly looks more promising than its predecessor (or at least the cast):

i am not interested with roch 2018, as it use "Romance" for the R letter, same as the 2014 tv series by mama yu zheng, which is very bad quality

They are completely unrelated, one is a crappy TV drama which I didn't even finish watching. The other is a 3-D movie trilogy directed by an acclaimed action director.

Ok so according to Kaypang Gallery there's gonna be a Guo Xiang centered TV show set between LOCH and ROCH, also dealing with the deaths of GJ and HR. Also, an adaptation of GL's The Lost Swordship.

Kaypang also put ou the cast for Tsui Harks ROCH movie adaptation, although I'm not sure where exactly this info came from..

    - Gulinazha as Xiaolongnü
    - Wang Junyi as Yang Guo
    - Crystal Zhang Tian'ai as Li Mochou
    - Wang Likun as Lu Wushuang

It came from rielbox.com. I pointed out that Gulinaza was the TV version, and rielbox removed it sometime later, you can see the empty placeholders for the cast here after they deleted the info:

just a little correction, Roch and HSDS.

so for trilogy condor heroes adaptation ,we would have...

    1. Loch movie 2018
    2. Roch movie 2018
    3. HSDS tv series 2018
    4. Emei Fungyan (spin off , guo xiang adventure after roch)
    5. Roch tv series 2018/2019
