Default Between Jin Yong and Gu Long, which author gave his characters greater depth?

Between the two most famous and popular wuxia authors of modern times, Jin Yong and Gu Long, who do you think generally did better in giving his characters greater emotional and psychological depth?

Surprisingly, I think it's Gu Long.

It's not that Jin Yong created bland and unmemorable characters. His characters had distinctive and memorable personalities, but somehow, the majority of them seemed simplistic and much easier to pigeonhole than most of Gu Long's major characters. Whereas Jin Yong characters tend to be defined by one or two consistent personality characteristics, Gu Long characters tended to have more depth and mystique to them.
