Why does Count Carefree need Chor Lau Heung's Treasure?

In the story, Count Carefree is by far the most powerful fighter plus a powerful Sabre with immense wealth and is extremely intelligent. Why does he still need Chor Lau Heung's treasure to accomplish his goal of conquering the Ming Dynasty? Why didn't he just put his plan to work to accomplish his goal?

Flirt? My goodness, that's going to be one long list!

For love interests, those which come to mind would be Shen Weisan, Su Rongrong and Shen Weilin from the first three novels (at least according to TVB's serials), then Princess Moon, Shi Xiuyun, Hua Zhenzhen, Chen Jiejie and that sick, dying girl whose name I can't remember according to the latest serial I watched of the Other Adventures. I've not watched any adaptation of the Orchid Flower arc, so I have no idea there.
