Post-16 years, the Wu brothers were quite capable fighters, blunting the edge of the tourney contestants before Yelu Qi. Pre-16 years, the Freaks have to warrior instincts to offset inferior techniques. Post-16 years, the Wus have enough experience to better use their superior techniques. I don't think Guo Fu is up to much in either incarnation; Han Xiaoying would wipe the floor with her, especially as GF doesn't seem to have learned superior techniques either, sticking with Yue Maiden swordplay throughout.
