Its BIxie Jianfa Gawdammit you guys!!!!
go go , someone please translate that to the English Wiki page , haha
chinese wiki usually is very informative, it's just that their source is not really verified
for example:
Guo Jing
https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E9%83%AD%E9%9D%96
they said Guo Jing learnt Yang Family Spear Technique (楊家槍法) , i dont remember he learnt it, he only watched Yang Tiexin show off the skill , and Yang Tiexin didnt taught him that skill
Either way, doesn't seem too egregious of a claim; the spear technique was supposed to be pretty commonly practiced throughout and Guo Jing eventually became a patriot and commander so learning a common soldier spear technique is pretty reasonable.
It also makes sense in terms of characterization and plot. With his son Yeung Hong having thrown his lot in with the Jurchens, Yeung Teet Sum probably preferred that his family's spear technique be passed down to Gwok Jing, who was like a nephew to him, than to die out with him.
In theory, if half the Song soldiers learnt Yang Family Spear. They should be able to outfight 3-4x their number of Jin soldiers?
I mean, it seems that the average person who learnt some martial arts should be able to beat a normal soldier. And this technique was specially designed for the battlefield.
