I think it's time for some action....

    <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

    ---------------------------------------------

Before the Five Elements have a chance to get comfortable, the loud booming voice of Zhang Tian Zen can be heard originating from a non-descript position high in the rafters of the Three Laughter Inn.

"If you treasure your lives then leave the chest and run, otherwise this will be your final resting place!"

Looks of silent alarm spread across the faces of the five great warriors as their alert is stepped up. They each grasp their weapons as Earth and Fire step nearer to the chest, showing thier resolve to protect it with their lives. Water rushes to the door to push it open, but is met with a beam of energy originating from the Chief Emei Master. He jumps away and holds up his chain and ball weapon, ready to sling it like a charging river towards the direction of the meditating priestesses. As he does so, he realises that he has been outdone, for they have disappeared.

The decoy has been successful in creating a distraction of a few seconds and five of Zhang's men crash in through the wooden shutter windows of the in with their weapons aimed precisely towards the chests of the five guardians. However, they are all totally focussed and beat off the attacks with their respective weaponry and skill.

A swipe of the huge golden sabre of Metal sends the first casualty flying in the direction of Qin Nam, who despite the ruckus is still calmly drinking his wine. The young monk on the other hand has lost his calm and is grasping onto Qin Nam, begging him to leave and take him away.

Qin Nam taps the boy on the head and breathes unshakenly:
"Be at peace! They cannot see you... when the time comes, my young monastic friend, we shall leave with our trophy."

More skilled students shoot through the windows, each giving their all in the attempt to overpower one of the Elements. Some fare better than others, but the strength of these men are slow to falter. Wind sweeps away an intruder with a flick of his steel fan and joins together with Fire against one of the Shaolin elders. The whirling toothed discs of Fire powered by the energy of Wind shoot across the room towards the neck of the aged monk, surely soon to meet his death, but within inches of reaching him, an iron ball bearing commanded by the strength of thirty years of internal energy knocks the killing weapon off course and saves the life of the elder. Wind and Fire look up to see who has the power to overcome them both. Zhang and his four sect chieftains have returned and are ready to tackle the five dedicated Elements.

"Silver Horse, Red Ox, Golden Tiger and Blue Crane!" exclaims Sam Siu, who has retreated to a space behind his counter to watch the fight.
    "What a sight!"

The aura of internal energy within the inn is becoming suffocating as the five elemental brothers take their positions to join against the impending attack. The confines of the inn are becoming restrictive, but the safety of the chest is still of paramount importance to all.

The five elements encircle the chest facing outwards and sending out a pentagon of energies radiating out towards any attack. The mediocre students continue to move towards them, but are flicked away by the energy like insects hitting the blade of a revolving sword. In a counter-attack, the five Ching Shing masters take their places and combine their energies behind the sword of Zhang to create an energy stream which may be strong enough to break through the barrier.

Shielding himself behind Qin Nam, the young monk watches on. Like a golden arrow shooting towards the heart of a bounding deer, the two energy streams meet and the resounding of the clash creates such a force that the front of the inn is destroyed and Qin Nam's table and the young monk is flung towards the wall at the back of the inn. Qin Nam is untouched, protected by his own remarkable internal energy. He laughs as he still holds his wine in his hand and seems to be enjoying the show.

The force breaks the Ching Shing formation and the five powerful men fall to the ground, weakened and injured.

The chest lies in the space where the Five Elements were stood, they are no longer to be seen and the metal of the chest has been fused into a mass of solid, inpenetrable, iron rock.

The echoing response from Wood can be heard coming from afar:
"You may have defeated the power of the five elements, but you will never reap the rewards of our treasure!"

After a while, the inn fell quiet. The monk, Qin Nam and the innkeeper did not move. Ngo Suet came down the stairs gracefully, trying to ignore Qin Nam along the way. They all stopped at the chest, which has been turned into rock. Sam Siu knocked on the rock, it was solid. He examined it but there was no opening or crack for them to open it.

Then, the old man from the hut fled in, like a ghost and landed right in front of the chest. After looking at it, he sighed, "Looks like I am too late."

Qin Nam raised and lowered his eyebrows, "Maybe not. If we can open this chest somehow, I can assure you that the treasure will still be inside."

The old man laughed coldly, "The power of the Five Elements is greater than what the master of wulin can handle. The treasure would be impossible to get."

Sam Siu suggested quietly, "What if the inner strength of four great martial artists can force open this rock-chest?"

    Ngo Suet snared, "How naive!"

Qin Nam looked at her, "It's worth a try."

They looked at each other. Only three great martial artists were standing here: the old man, Qin Nam and Ngo Suet. Where will they get the fourth one? Qin Nam suddenly laid his eyes on Sam Siu. Sam Siu swallowed. Even though he is not a great fighter, his inner strength is not of a lower level.

The four sat in a circle surrounding the chest, each meditating their inner strength to gather to their palms. After a while, the inn starts to heat up, the young monk is sweating as the room becomes more stuffy. All four people sent out their energy streams through their palms towards the chest. A loud crash is heard and the young monk dropped its mouth open as the rock-chest fell onto the ground. It remained in one piece, but a hole was made in the floor.

The four people were puzzled why the chest was so strong that the energy cannot force it open. The young monk went over to the chest and examined it closely. There was a scratch mark on one side of the chest. Puzzled, the young monk traced his finger along the mark, and suddenly, the rock exploded.

before you read this I would first like to apologise - I have no idea what the individual writers (who have done a good job thus far) were intending for a continuation, but i put forth my part for potentional coninuation and change. So if anyone thinks its not in compliance with what the original writers had intended, please tell me as I will not hesitate to remove it.

    ---------------------------------------

A defening explosion rocked the 'three laughters inn', shaking the building to its very foundations. The villagers from inside their houses covered their ears and cowed down in fear - as if the sky was falling.

In that explosion two of the foolish pugilists were killed instantly, the young cowardly monk's body lay on top of the chest, punctuated by hundreds of wounds sustained from standing too close; the old man, was nowhere to be seen. Only Qin Nam still had breath, heaving with all his might in a struggle to maintain his next mouthful of air.

The Elements will pay for this he thought to himself as a tinge of regret stabbed through Qin Nam's heart when he saw the body of the young monk laying on top of the chest. Had he not been so greedy for the contents within, then maybe an innocent wouldn't have died. A well of emotion surged through his body, and as it did so, he summoned the last of his internal strenght into a thundering scream.

A scream that somehow became mingled with sharp, rapping laughter. It took him only a moment to realise that the laughter did not come from him, but from a princely looking man, delicate and waifelike in appearence. He did not reseamble a wulin hero in any way or form, in fact, he seemed like nobility - a courtly scholar or rich playboy. Yet he was able to move without sound and wind, suggesting that his hingong was very high indeed, amongst the top one or two in the pugilistic world one would guess.

A smirk appeared on the mans face as he rose from sitting on a still standing chair and approached the chest. With a movement undetectable to Qin Nam's eyes, he flicked the body of the young monk away, and out through the window onto the street.

Anger pursed through Qin's beaten body, although try as he might to move, he could not, all he could do was watch with hate as the young man picked up the chest as easily as one would pick up chopstick and carried it out of the inn.

'Six in the fourth place means:
    Entangled folly brings humiliation'
the young man mused as he walked leisurely out of the inn.

For Qin however, the whole world started to turn black as he lost conciousness.

Hi MYF! Long time no see...
I'm glad you're willing to help dig this story from the dusty depths of the forum and don't apologise for leading the story as it was about time some life was driven into it. Not sure what Friday had in mind for it, but it's definitely time to take it away from the Inn.

I'd like to develop Chu Shu's story with the old fella if that's okay.... I'll post my piece shortly.

    Default "Shu An"

In the darkness of the forest night and only the flickering of the fireflies and the crescent moon in the starry sky to light his way, the weary body of Chu Shu is finding it hard to keep moving.

“Why am I heading back there anyway?” he asks himself, but he doesn’t have time to think about the matter any further as his legs catch on a trailing creeper and brings him crashing to the ground into a thorny thicket. The fatigue of the evening, his lack of food and the pain from his injury is too much and Chu Shu passes out again.

The sound of gentle chortling can be heard as the old man emerges from behind a tree bearing a flickering lantern and stroking his long white beard.

    **********
“Shu An! Wake up, it is time to prepare for the young master’s lessons!”
The call from a young girl pierces through Chu Shu’s dreams and he wakes with a start. He sits up in bed with a start, he hasn’t heard that name being called for a long time. The girl tosses him the uniform of a servant and a bun and says as she leaves the room:
“Hurry, you don’t need me to serve you as well do you?”

“Xiao Lin?” Chu Shu recognises the girl, but from where?
Fearing that he might be in trouble with the young master, he changes quickly into the clothes and stuffs the bun into his mouth. Not having eaten for what seems like days, any food is welcome. He hobbles over to the table to grab a cup of water and realises that he has a limp and a dull ache in his ankle. It seems to provoke some memories of the forest.
“I tripped…” he thinks to himself. He grasps his arm and agitates the gash of a large cut. “Oww… the bush…” he enlightens himself.

“Shu An! Come on!!” Xiao Lin calls him again from outside.
He rushes out as best as he can and follows her from the servants quarters into a lavishly decorated courtyard and into what appears to be a study. The walls are adorned with calligraphy that sends a shiver down Chu Shu’s spine for he can see that the person who created such masterpieces is not only well bestowed in the literary arts, but also in the martial arts.

“The ink stone is there, you still remember how to make ink don’t you?” says Xiao Lin.
“All the materials are in here, make sure you are ready for the young master when he gets here. I am going to serve him his early meal.”

The pretty young maid rushes out with her basket and Chu Shu is left to prepare the four treasures of the study. He pulls a roll of paper from the shelf and carefully lays it out on the table. He is engrossed in the quality, for he could never afford to buy anything like this. As he weighs it down with the beautifully engraved jade paperweight and lays out the brushes, he starts to wonder how he ended up becoming the study assistant for this family. Who are they? How did he get here? How does Xiao Lin know his name? Moreover, how does he know Xiao Lin’s name?

With great precision and experience, Chu Shu pours a little wine onto the inkstone and starts to grind with the ink block, swaying from side to side and producing the blackest and most fragrant ink possible. The questions keep passing through his mind again and again, but he feels no inclination to run away or head back to his old life once more. To a certain extent this is his dream and he is desperate to meet the man who is the creator of the masterpieces he can see before him.

“ Ahh! So fragrant! Good good… Grandpa has made a good choice for the new assistant!”
Chu Shu looks up and sees a richly dressed man entering the study with a young boy of about ten years old who smiles cheekily at Chu Shu.

nice continuation em, forgot that I killed of the old guy at the inn (d'oh). I've edited it anyway so that the old guy somehow managed to escape the exploding chest and only two of the four fighters around the chest were killed.

haha, its ok. I'll add a bit now, and it may seem a bit out of place but, what the heck, if this gets archived, it'll be edited to flow slightly better with your sections

    now....

    ****************

Meanwhile, the city of Hang Zhou continued to ply its trade in the everyday hustle and bustle of the streets. The people are happy to continue as if nothing has happened the night before, preferring to just let it pass and become stories they tell their children.

Clanging sounds emanate from the region of the 'Three Laughter’s Inn' as a score of workers toil away on the front of the dilapidated place, heaving mud bricks and wood along clumsily contstructed walkways.

'Wulin heroes? Hmph' grunted an able bodied peasant 'Why do they always have to fight and kill within inns? I wish they would just settle their differences in an open field somewhere'

'Heh, the ways of heroes are beyond our comprehension brother, but think of it this way - every time they wreck a building, we get money to repair it. So in our interests, lets hope they destroy a few more.' said the peasants younger brother slyly.

So it is amongst the ordinary people, that the ways of heroes and villains are matters of business, and during times of great struggle, business, is always good.

On the streets below, a white horse gallops through the town striking fear into the hearts of those foolhardy enough to get in its way. On its back was a woman in an exotic purple dress, eyes large and wild, the countenance of someone who could not control such a magnificent beast.

Down past the ironworker and the inn it thundered, heading on the straight path out of the town.

But before it could, a pebble sent flying through the air stuck the horse on its hindquarters and brought it to a loudly neighing stop right before a large stone well.

The woman in the purple dress, obviously having no skill in riding horses the townspeople judged from her frightened expression, let go of the reigns too early and was thrown forth, headfirst, into the well.

Fortunately the well was deep, but not too deep and the woman splashed into the cold water of the slimy well and was soaked thoughroughly through.

'Hmph!' she thought. 'If he doesn't want me to ride that horse, then I'm damn well going to ride it.'

But first, she had to make her way out of this slimy, wet, well, like a cold and clammy frog.

By the time Qin Nam woke up, he was in a dark place. He can see nothing but can only hear the dripping sound of water. It smelt like a damp, wet place. Very unpleasant. He was too weak to move his limps, but he can feel that he is lying in an uncomfortable position.

Suddenly, he heard the shouting of a female voice. "Help! Anyone up there?!"

He swept his eyes around his surrounding but is too tired to concentrate. After a while, he can see a dimp light shone in the distance. His thought, water. The voice was still crying and shouting. He feels very annoyed but has no energy to get up or even to shout. Then, he heard footsteps coming towards slow. Using his sharp ears, Qin Nam can hear the slow footsteps, belonging to a person with very weak inner energy.

Just then, the shape of a female figure stood in front of him. Before he could do anything, the voice shreked. The figure backed off a few steps into the light.

Qin Nam could see that a woman in a purple dress was trembling in the light. After a long silence, the woman asked, "Who are you? What are you doing down here?"

Qin Nam studied the woman, puzzled by what she said. He asked, "What do you mean, down here?"

"Why are you in this well?" The woman rolled her eyes, as if it was obvious it was a well.

Qin Nam looked around. The damp smell and the dripping sound definitely resemble a well. He asked himself, how did I get here. He was interrupted by the woman's voice, "I really don't care who you are now. Get me out of this well."

Because Qin Nam is hidden in the dark, the woman could not see his bruised body. The woman's voice was somewhat demanding, as if he was the one who got her down here.

    Default Tian Biao

“My name is Tian Biao, but you can call me Master. This is my son Tian Haolong, but you can call him Young Master.” The towering man introduces himself to Chu Shu, but offers no explanation to how he came about to be in his home.

Chu Shu knows he must respect this man and tries to hold back from talking out of line, but his curiosity gets the better of him and he takes a deep breath to draw together his courage. Looking up timidly at the burly man, he whimpers:
“With the greatest of respect Master Tian, why am I here?”

Tian Biao runs his eyes up and down this feeble young scholar and lets out a powerful chuckle. The son imitates his father and starts to laugh as well, although the young boy doesn’t really know why.
“Young scholar, you are no prisoner. However, if you wish to leave, then first you must repay me for the finest medicines and ointments that were used on your injuries last night. If you have fifty taels of silver, then you may go.”

There is a short silence as Chu Shu’s jaw drops, even if he sold a thousand paintings he would not be able to make that kind of money. He seems destined to remain here to repay his debt to them. Tian Biao notices his expression and laughs again.
“I am not an unreasonable man…” he continues.

“Not unreasonable? Fifty silver taels for one night’s sleep and a few herbal roots??” Chu Shu thinks to himself angrily…

“I treat my staff well. You will work until your debt is paid. I will allow you to have one day’s rest and ten bronze coins in every month. Your duty is to teach Young Master the arts of calligraphy, painting, scripture and literature. I know you will not be able to endure any hard work…”
He pauses for a moment and smiles.
“You never know, you might gain more than you expect from this.”

Chu Shu buries his resentment and his scholarly manners and respect resurface.
“As it appears that the choice is not mine to make, then I will do as you wish, Master.”

“Good… good! I knew that Grandpa would not let me down ….” Tian Biao repeats.
“Now, Hao-er. Go and prepare for your lesson. Father must go and attend to some business. These are the lines of verse you must learn today.”

Sweeping over to the desk, Tian Biao picks up a brush and dips it into the inkwell, picking up an exact measure of the lush, dark ink. Showing a level of control and concentration like that of a monk who is drawing up his internal energy, he utilises the brush like a weapon as he makes his mark on the paper as though he was displaying a set of swordplay techniques. Chu Shu is astonished that this brute is the one who created the intricate calligraphic masterpieces that he admires so much and he looks on in wonderment as a stream of excitement gushes through his veins and turns his fear and resentment into only awe and admiration. It is an honour to witness such a display.

The four lines of verse are etched into the paper with as much strength and passion as if they had been carved into stone as Tian Biao places the brush back down on the desk and taps his son on the shoulder.
“Learn well, my son. I am sure Shu An will teach you all that he knows.”

As he strides out of the study and Haolong climbs onto the chair beside the desk, Chu Shu studies the words that Tian Biao has written on the paper and is totally bemused.

“A hundred flowers meet in the Red Lotus pool,
The memories of the grasslands will no longer rule.
Fragrance flows and waters are clear,
For nothing in the past has any business here.”

    ************

Qin Nam's head throbbed with pain, and every will to move sent shocks of pain throughout his weak and ailing body. Dimly could he remeber coming down here into this damp darkness.

'There was the fight at the inn, with several high level fighters from the wulin. A chest, and a young monk... but then what?' he could not recall what had happened after the fighting. Nor who this young girl was, that was here in the darkness with him.

A whistleing whisper was all he manged to squeeze out his dry throat. 'Who are you Miss?'

'Who am I?' the girl replied with a sneer, 'I am the Mistress of the west mannor, overlord of peach blossom island, commander of the royal flying chariots, queen of the imperial palace, and goddess over all high heaven: Ling Er. And right now, I demand you to help me get out of here.'

A joke was a joke, but Qin Nam could sense a vein of cruelty inherent in her manner of talking and speech. No one had dared to talk to Qin Nam like this normally, not even his Masters, but here things definately were not normal.

Injured and stuck in a weAll with what he thought was a spoilt brat, he despaired. For he knew he could not really get out of this well unless he had some help from her, and being a stoic man who carved his own fortunes, asking for help from some brat down in a well was a great insult to his dignity.

As he was thinking this, the young girl paced around the well, feeling the walls for any sign of a pathway or contraption that allowed them to get out of the well.

But as this was going on, Qin Nam noticed a man, at the top of the well. He had a high forehead, a ruddy complexion and a great bushy beard which stuck out briskly. Two small eyes looked with amusement at the young girl wandering around the inside of the well, he was unable to see Qin Nam however as he lay in shadow.

'Miss Ling!' the large man shouted. 'I'm sorry for causing you to fall, but master instructs that no-one is to ride this horse of his, not even yourself Miss Ling'

The girl turned towards to top of the well and noticed the large man who had stood there, not moving a hand to help.

'Well' the girl said putting her hands to her hips, 'Aren't you going to help me up then you big fat turtle?'

'What miss Ling says, your humble servant must do haha, but unfortunately miss, I do not have a rope handy as the people no longer use this well for drinking water' he smiled. If the man looked utterly barbaric and uncouth when he was normal, this smile brought out the even more horific elements.

'Go get one then!' she humphed and stamped her tiny feet in agitation.

The fat man, evidently a servant of hers hurried away. She turned to Qin Nam and pouted.

Oooo a reader hehe, thanks Goofy (on behalf of us all) for reading. If there are any other readers, don't be afraid to add your own bit, or at least just badly criticize me for not writing properly

    ****************
‘Hey, don’t think I’m going to help you out of here mister – whoever you are.’

Qin Nam did not even bother replying, but held back his lip in anger, and propped his body into an upright position against the wet wall. ‘I am respected throughout the Wulin world, although she is mocking me, I being a senior should be more tolerant – at least, until I can find out whom her master is.’ He thought as he watched the girl stamp around a bit more waiting for the large man to get back.

A little while later, the inside of the well suddenly became dark. Looking up, Qin Nam realized that it was dark actually because the body of the large man from earlier – was blocking the well again with his huge bulk.

The fat man leaned over the edge of the well and shouted down in a booming voice, ‘Miss Ling, I have found the rope, are you still down there?’

‘If you could move your fat bulk away from the well, then maybe your two short sighted piggy eyes would be able to see that I am still down here’ she replied sarcastically.

‘Yes, yes! Rope here’ he ignored, chuckling to himself. Moving away from the well slightly, the large man quickly lowered a thick, brown, rope to the girl.

Reaching out with one elegant hand, the Ling Er grabbed hold of the rope, shouting to the large man to pull her up. As she said this, she cast a malicious grin towards Qin Nam, confident that she was going to get out of here and he was not.

With a heave the large man pulled on the rope to drag the girl out of the well.

This mans name was Bo, and was renowned throughout the world for his upper body strength. Rumors were that once, he had single handedly saved a large family on a boat from the rushing waters of the yellow river by acting as an anchor, drawing them to safety; so heaving a young girl out a well was not going to be a very difficult task for him.

However, he was surprised when he heard the girl scream aloud and not one person appeared from the well, but two.

The first being the purple dressed girl, and the latter being none other than the heavily injured Qin Nam.

Qin Nam was relieved to have gotten out of the well, for in quick thinking; he had just reached out to at the girl’s foot and grabbed hold, hoping that the person pulling would have enough inner-strength to pull both of them out. He was lucky that he had guessed rightly, but now he had used the last of his own strength, and was once again near passing out.

He did not even notice the girl flushing bright red. Normally, when a girl flushes bright red, it is usually because of anger, or embarrassment. In Ling Er's case, it was harder to tell which she was feeling. When Qin Nam had been pulled out the well, he was still holding onto her foot, but after being dropped on the ground, he had still kept hold, and as she fought to free her foot from his grip, the whole shoe came off, revealing her dainty pink toes.

The large man called Bo, bellowed with laughter at the pair, who were now laying soaking wet on the floor. One was beaten and bruised, looking unconscious; the other was a young girl, red in the face and missing a shoe. A crowd had started to gather, loudly discussing the strange scene amongst each other.

‘Why Miss, if I knew you had a big burly guy down there, I would not have acted so rashly and pulled you up so soon’ the large man boomed, whilst laughing.

Ling Er shot him a wrathful look, an ordinary man would have been on his knees apologizing, but Bo, was not ordinary. Getting up, she quickly snatched the shoe back off the unconscious Qin Nam and shouted at the crowd to clear off in annoyance.

‘What’s so funny you big fat turtle?’ she sneered, but as she said the worlds ‘big fat turtle’ her right hand shot out, and before Ah Bo knew it, three poison tipped needles were heading towards him.

But Ah Bo was quite skilled in the realm of martial arts, so he was able to dodge the needles at the last minute. A decoy was a decoy however, and he knew he had fallen for her trap. For the needles were only meant to divert his attention. So by the time he had dodged to the side, Ling Er was nowhere to be seen and neither, for that matter, was the beautiful white horse which his master had sent him to retrieve.

‘Damn!’ he mumbled under his breath. ‘Oh Ah Bo’ he thought ‘You’re just a good for nothing, even a little girl can deceive you and cause you so much trouble. Might as well call it a day and become a farmer.’

Looking down, he inspected the body of Qin Nam with distaste. ‘Let’s see what this ruffian has on him then’ he said with a smile to himself.

‘Pockets… nothing….’ He patted the body of the unconscious Qin Nam up and down, but reaching into his chest he pulled out a long yellow piece of silk, beautifully embroidered. ‘Aha! Whats this? Oooh’ thinking that he had found something important, he scrutinized with his small, squinting eyes.

However, Ah Bo was not a very literate or educated man, so the embroidery and the meaning of the piece of silk was not evident to him.

‘Well’ he said stuffing it in his own chest, ‘At least you had something good on you. If not, I would have left you here, soaking in the middle of this city. But seeing as you have this lovely piece of silk’ he said patting his chest, ‘I guess I’ll pretend to be nice, and instruct one of those workers to put you in an Inn whilst I search for little miss.'

    Cool Questions!

To the other Writers (past, present, and future), questions that need to be addressed or considered:

1 - What is the time setting for this? late ming? southern song? now () ?. I read somewhere that friday the 13th wanted the ancient round-robin fics to link, so is this after kilin or before? (Legend of Kilin being the most developed and well writted ancient round-robin so far)

2 - What is the story's theme so far - or is it too early to tell?

3 - What dialect? Canto? Mandarin? Viet?

4 - Are people still reading this round-robin? or should we pack it full of well known 'hot' actors and actresses in order to draw empathy to the characters - which equals more comments constructive or otherwise?

Those were the main questions I had in mind, here are the lesser questions regarding the plot that can be expanded upon:

1 - C-Monster wrote of a piece of yellow silk which was given (i think) to Sam Siu by Qin Nam. Sam Sui was killed at the inn, and Qin Nam retrieved it somehow before falling down the well. It now resides with a fat man called Ah Bo. What is the meaning of this piece of silk?

2 - Everyone was fighting over a chest at the three laughters inn, what was in the chest?

3 - What is the significance of the young dead monk at the inn?

4 - Chu Shu and the old man and his relatives (Em's developing this part i think)

5 - The background of the woman in purple?

6 - How did Qin Nam get in the well?

7 - Who organised the attack on the three laughters inn? and to what sect or organisation do the 5 elements belong to?

8 - Who was Sam Siu?

9 - Who was the mysterious masked woman who appeared to Chu Shu on top of the Three Laughters Inn?

    ***********************

Lastly, who cares? - j/k, I kinda do because this fanfic has potential, but it needs more writers and more ideas - Although the other writers besides myself have done a great job so far in their writing :bows: , we just need more ancient writers (Unless no one is interested in writing ancient fanfics anymore and it's heyday has long past back in 2001/2 and modern fanfics rule *sigh*)

Ok enough rambling, and more writing? if you've read this far, what do you think?

    Cool

Any objection for the resurrection of the young monk?
I thought that he could become a good fighter later on.

    Default Re: Questions!

    Here are my thoughts...

1 - What is the time setting for this? late ming? southern song? now () ?. I read somewhere that friday the 13th wanted the ancient round-robin fics to link, so is this after kilin or before? (Legend of Kilin being the most developed and well writted ancient round-robin so far)

*** I have no idea - I'll leave that to you to decide... my instinct would say Ming.

2 - What is the story's theme so far - or is it too early to tell?

*** Well the title would suggest there is a battle somewhere - possibly between Wulin and the government...

3 - What dialect? Canto? Mandarin? Viet?

*** Canto and Mandaring are okay with me. f13th seems to prefer Mandarin. Unfortunately, this is one problem with Ancient fanfics that is also the most off-putting for potential writers and readers and I dont think will ever be overcome unless someone comes up with a generic English wuxia naming strategy.

4 - Are people still reading this round-robin? or should we pack it full of well known 'hot' actors and actresses in order to draw empathy to the characters - which equals more comments constructive or otherwise?

***Haha.. not a bad plan. I'm sure there are readers, but the fanfic section in general has been quiet lately. You should write for the writing's sake though... the number of readers you get should be a bonus.

*** Silk? What silk?? (Em hasn't been paying enough attention...)

2 - Everyone was fighting over a chest at the three laughters inn, what was in the chest?

*** Treasure of some sort with some special martial art skill? Some sort of symbol of power to do with the government? The secret to being immortal? I'm not sure that this has been decided... or ever will be.

3 - What is the significance of the young dead monk at the inn?

***Err... he's dead? Will he be resurrected? (Em is doing the girly thing of answering questions with questions.... oops!)

4 - Chu Shu and the old man and his relatives (Em's developing this part i think)

***Yeah let me look after this bit, I'll tie him in later with the rest of the story somehow.

5 - The background of the woman in purple?

*** These people need names.... what woman in purple?

6 - How did Qin Nam get in the well?

*** He was warped there by aliens. Yeah, let's do wuxia meets the X files! (Em starting to get silly now... sorry)

7 - Who organised the attack on the three laughters inn? and to what sect or organisation do the 5 elements belong to?

***I think the 5 elements worked for the government.

8 - Who was Sam Siu?
***The undercover inkeeper, but he's dead now anyway.

9 - Who was the mysterious masked woman who appeared to Chu Shu on top of the Three Laughters Inn?

    *** She's dead as well...

    ***********************

I'd like to keep working on this fanfic, because I've put "Curse of the Blade" on the back burners, but would like to keep practicing this side of my writing. You're right, we need some input from fresh writers and also need to talk about where we want to drive this.

If anyone wants to talk to me on msn, just add me:
