Default Who was the single strongest opponent Kiu Fung faced at Tsui Yin Manor?

Kiu Fung faced over 200 enemy warriors at Tsui Yin Manor, at least forty of whom were said to be stronger that Great Evil # 4 (Wan Chung Hok). Among all those adversaries, who was Kiu Fung's single strongest foe in terms of martial arts that day?

OT: To find about it, this scene may be unnecessary as none of them is not XF's match.

this scene is very nesscary. Jinyong is a meticulous writer. He wrote the novel is not just about martial arts. But ancient China culture, and human-human social cultures. Characters needs alot of scene to slowly introduce and establish their character.

    - The wine drinking ceremony to end ties is meaningful.
    - Its the first appearance of Xue Muhua which will try a story foundation later for the appearance of Su Xinghe.
    - Its here Xiao YuanShan showed up too.
-This is the first major fight where Xiao Feng used his non-beggar sect skills; shaolin Chang Quan to fight.
    - Its also a fight to show how strong XiaoFeng was. And a reckless behavior of his northlander.
    - It also introduce and establish the character You Tianzhi.
-Without this scene, later on Duan Yu and Wang Yuyan wont trick Jiumozhi to go. And led to a short fight of Xiao Feng versus Jiumozhi.

Thanks, d_b for the detailed explanation. What i meant is that jy should have used some great fighters to fight xf in that scene.

The problem is that there was really no one. After XYS and JMZ, the next level is DCQ and DYQ and if those 2 showed up, it would be a 3 way brawl.

Actually, I always said DCQ would be deadlier than even XF at Juxian manor. If he chucked a linked pearl corpse bomb, nearly everyone would have died in the confined space.

Even Kiu Fung himself, or was his inner power sufficient for him to resist the worst of it?

No idea actually. If tough guys like XF, XYS and JMZ got hit by DCQ's corpse bomb, I am not sure what JY would have intended.

YTZ imho had higher inner energy than XF but when fighting DCQ, the narrator didn't mention that he was immune to the corpse bomb. While XZ, when fighting DCQ, JY made a point that he was immune to all of DCQ's poisons.
