Default Why do strong people know so much about nobodies, yet they don't know the strong?

It always seems like the strong characters are always aware of the weak characters, yet the weak characters don't know about the strong. Shouldn't it it be the other way around?

People like Zhang Sanfeng and Miejue are known to not have left the mountain for years, yet they always know any character they come across while plenty of weak characters have no idea of who they are. It doesn't make any sense does it?

Someone like Xie Xun not only knows all the weaklings at Wanpang Island, he knows all the things they've done. That means he either spied and intercepted all the invitations, then watched and researched all the attendees, or he just naturally keeps track of everyone doing everything. It just doesn't make any sense.

None of them know Xie Xun either, who isn't some recluse -- he was a guardian lord of their sworn enemy for many years.

It would make sense that nobody regularly recognizes each other with lack of communication and such, but it really doesn't make sense why a Great level fighter would recognize scrubs and not vice versa.

Apparently Xie Xun is recognized in 3rd edition: http://www.spcnet.tv/forums/showthre...n#.XIyCrShKiUk
