Default Deun Yu's rationale for providing sanctuary to the insane Mo Yung F'uk?

After Mo Yung F'uk went insane, Deun Yu provided him with sanctuary at the Dali Royal Palace, presumably for the remainder of Mo Yung F'uk's life. What was Deun Yu's rationale for providing such sanctuary for his former enemy and love rival?

    1. Out of respect for Wong Yu Yin, who was, after all, Mo Yung F'uk's cousin.

    2. As a Buddhist and humanitarian, Deun Yu felt morally obliged to help MYF, regardless of their previous enmity.

    3. Mo Yung F'uk could pose a threat to himself and innocent people if left unsupervised and thus, it was best for all concerned that he remain under Dali Kingdom's watchful eye.

Was any combination of these three reasons the basis for Deun Yu's decision to provide sanctuary to MYF?

This happened in the novel or which series? Definitely not in the latest series.

In the 3rd edition, Duan Yu allowed him to remain within Dali's borders, not at the royal palace. Wang Yuyan (who left DY to be with MRF in this edition) was worried that word of MRF's fantasy of becoming emperor might get out and lead to him getting executed if he remained in Sung territory, so moved him to Dali where he could be protected by DY. DY also provided them with money anonymously to support them.

And in his free time he started thinking about sword arts and how a heavy iron sword could crush all opposition with strong inner force before realizing the sword was in the heart.

He also made friends with a big bird and name3d him Bao Butong.

Wouldn't someone with Mo Yung F'uk's ability need to be kept under watch and ward? If he's outside the immediate supervision of Deun Yu and his underlings in the palace, what would prevent Mo Yung F'uk from wandering away from Dali Kingdom?

If MRF is in Dali Kingdom, he has more reason not to leave. Since his ambition is to be a "King" and now he is living like a "fake" King.

Seriously, with all the numerous imagination stretching and plot devices, keeping mad MRF in Dali is like the least of our worries.
