Default Did Leung Tze Yung do something wrong cultivating his giant snake?

Leung Tze Yung cultivated a giant snake for years at his manor, planning to gain an immense internal power boost after drinking the snake's blood.

Well, Gwok Jing did drink the snake's blood, and that gave him lifelong resistance to some poisons, but nothing like the huge inner power boost that Leung Tze Yung had expected.

Did Leung do something wrong in cultivating the snake?

I thought GJ did had a substantial boost?

Also, what was "huge inner power boost" for Ling Zhi Shang Ren might not be perceived to be "huge" by protagonists' standards.

More like he had mistaken expectations for something that was marginally beneficial with returns that in no way reflected the amount of effort put in. A bit like those miracle diets that promise the world for followers. Maybe they could have some marginal benefits in some areas. But they're nowhere near as efficient as a basic balanced diet and regular exercise.
