Default Will entertainment become more escapist or topical after 2020?

Between global pandemic and social unrest, 2020 has been one of the most difficult years in human history. You'd have to go back to the era of the Great Depression and World War II to find a time when humanity endured such turmoil.

What do you think this means for the future of entertainment? Will audiences and providers seek out topical material that confronts today's crises head-on, or will entertainment take a more escapist turn as people wish to distance themselves from these hard times and seek pleasure and fun?

Global pandemic is bad but it is beyond human control. People should practice social distancing and stay home as much as they can. Regarding social unrest, people are are beyond stupid. Covid-19 is no joke, why would you go out to protest? You put yourself at risk of getting infection. In addition, you also put society at risk for going out to protest. You can protest online on social media, not on streets.
