Cool

so, just for clarification here.

the kilin at dragon clan is on the mountain, and the one that xiao long er had was the kilin on the waterfall, right?

how about the one in cheung manor?

Only two of the four Kilin paintings have been found.

1st Painting- White Crane Mountains(was in possession of The Dragon Mountain Clan later stolen by Li Yu Mei and was given to The Cheungs)

2nd Painting- Of the Waterfalls, first found by Bai Xue Xing and Leung Wan Shan(Xiao Long Er's parents) then later found by Xiao Long Er.

Just a note...There's three Leung Brothers. Leung Mo Lin (Dragon Mts. clan Leader), Leung Mo Wun(2nd Brother), Leung Wan Shan(Third Brother).

Question

I thought Kara's part about how Xiao Lung Er finding the 2nd painting and a book in one of the crack beneath the bed explained how the 2nd kilin painting was found.

I thought...back in the beginning Li Yu Mei took the painting from Tian Bo and used the painting as a dowry for the marriage between her and Cheung Ping.

Btw, I'm a little confuse as how to Li Yu Mei went through that "marriage" thing and still belong to the Dragon Mts. Clan? Very confused. What was her propose at the Cheung Manor again?

It's like this
Actually three of the paintings have been found.

The one Fong Zheng was looking at in the Sword Lake Manor. It is a picture of the White Krane Mountains or the Lake, one of those two. However, since Sword Lake Manor has sorta been burnt down, we don't really know what happened to it, unless the White Snake Clan took it. It could have been the purpose of their raid.

The second one is a painting of the Dragon Mountain where the Dragon Clan reside. This is the one Li Yu Mei stole from Tian Bo but later returned to the Dragon Clan. I think Tian Bo stole for her to be with her or something but she betrayed him and pushed him down the cliff and took the painting back so that she could be rewarded or something. I don't think she knows the secret otherwise she would have kept it.

The third one is the waterfall one found later by Xiao Long Er

Then there must be a fourth one becuase the Whistling Wanderer did say "a dragon {i.e. kilin) comes from the east, west, north and south"

I can answer the last question: dragon clan's leader sent her to spy for 'the treasure'. the marriage is only his plan. so, that meant that dragon clan and sword lake sect are friendly at one time.

isn't the painting kilin in cheung manor has the kilin standing under the tree? (page 2 in archive, I think under C Monster post)

if li yue mei took the painting earlier, how come xiao long er got to know the painting then? she didn't know tian bo before, so she must have come to the clan after he had left. therefore, she shouldn't get to see the painting???

Oh yeah! I think the purpose of her marriage to the Cheung Manor was to steal the money and treasure from the Cheung Manor. She knew full well that she wouldn't be married to him. I think Leung Mo Lin was just pretending to be friendly with the Cheung Manor so that when the treasure was stolen, the missing bride and therefore the Dragon Clan would not be suspected!

Oh boy! This is a major problem. So we have to go back and edit the part? I'm still utterly confused.

Hey how about we have that whistle key, like used to tame the kilin? Like when someone who knows how to play the whistle...and have all four the paintings the dragon would come leading four kilins(the paintings are found in all four directions..north, east, west and south)? The one who would possess the whistle key can tame the them..and so they'd lead them to a underground palace where the "treasure" or secret would be unveiled? I don't know...well I hope someone continues...

I think there were 3 paintings so far too.

actually, the 'treasure' I intended earlier was the manuals, but since kara interpreted as money and such, can we pretend that leung mo lin wanted the manual but pretend to have his disciple steal every treasure possible?

I thought Xiao Long Er gets to see the painting because Li Yu Mei returned with it after pushing Tian Bo off the cliff and giving the scar. My theory is:

1. Li Yu Mei persuades Tian Bo to run away with her and steal the painting as a wedding gift or something
2. Tian Bo steals the painting and goes to meet Li Yu Mei
3. Li Yu Mei betrays Tian Bo by scarring him and almost killing him
4. Li Yu Mei returns with the painting [because she doesn't know about it's secret] and is promoted to the lieutenant of the Fire Division? by Leung Mo Lin
5. Leung Mo Lin puts the painting saftey in his study
6. Leung Mo Lin adopts Xiao Long Er and so she sees the painting.

About the whistle key thingy, i intended that to be an actual key to the treasure cave or something. As for the four dragon thingy, i though maybe if we have four dragons from four different directions and then we put them together, we could have a map or something that leads us to the cave or place... you know so we can find out what the secret of kilin [i.e. kilin paintings are]

However, White Krane's idea of taming the four dragons seem to be really good. We could definately have our six heros and heroines take on this challenge

Tian Bo and Zhi Lan
Lau Hong and Ah Yee
Yuen Jin and Xiao Long Er

It's a pity we don't have four couples, then we could have one per dragon.

Anyway, how do we get the dragons to appear so that we can tame them? I'm guessing it has something to do with the four paintings being together, what about something to do with the scent...like say combined they give off a scent that only the kilin can smell and so it attracts them???

Perhaps they'd appear on a full moon...flying in skies once every thirty years? That scent idea is good too. How about the paintings each has poems when putting the four painting together on top of each other then...when water is poured on...the lines of poems on the paintings come together to become one poem or riddle in which it tells where the place of the secret is..?

I don't know...but hey we can always come up with other ideas..heheh

How about if the answer is not really on the paintings, but underneath? You have to peel off the top layer to reveal poems to how to control the kilins. Then on a moonless night on the darkest hour of the darkest month of the darkest year, the four will meet up somewhere(sea?) and when they meet, they will regurgitate a bright pearl as idenitfiaction. After taming the kilins, they will give you the pearl,to which you can control with your mind and make them take you to the treasure!

how about dragon means a guy (or a gal) with a dragon shaped birth mark? or dragon can mean a person who has completed a powerful skill with the word "dragon" in the name of the skill? We could always have a Dragon Sword or a Dragon Sabre!

I like charbydis' idea. probably just anything that had to do with dragon like one person with dragon tattoo, the other with dragon technique, and so on?

it would be more realistic than 4 people with tattoos.

Poor Kara has to get this story along alone? Even I contribute for the first time in long time. Anyone wanna add?
