Default Wulin men who are surprisingly afraid of their wives.

You think of the average wulin man as a tough guy who fears nothing, but some married wulin tough guys are surprisingly afraid of their wives. Take Kunlun Sect Leader Ho Tai Chung from HSDS, for example. He was one tough dude, as proven by how he stood up to the Mongols when he and other wulin leaders were held captive by the Mongols in Dadu, but the guy seemed to be afraid of his wife. Though he was officially the Kunlun leader, I sensed that his wife was the one who really wore the pants and ran the show at the sect.

Ban Shuxian was He Taichong's martial elder sister, so he would have deferential to her from the beginning. They were unable to produce children, so He Taichong started marrying one concubine after another, feeling more and more guilty and fearful each time.

There seems to be HUGE comedy potential here, but HSDS wasn't about Kunlun Sect and the Ho family, so Jin Yong didn't give us more than this. Still, the setup seems ripe for a hilarious wulin sitcom.

Chung Man Sau wasn't afraid of Gum Bo Bo, however; he was just madly in love with her and wanted to please her. Fear is something different altogether. Perhaps Gung Sheun Tze and Kau Cheen Chek fit this bill better.
