Setting an Avatar

How to use .gif as avatar? I want to know how some member able to use moving avatar..

another Q, how to resize the .gif avatar properly, because after I resize the .gif file it became picture, instead of as the original moving picture.

Same as .jpg I guess.

Resize with animated gif editor. Not photoshop, paintshop, or windows paint.

I use ImageReady. It comes with Photoshop. I can create one for you if you'd like.

Mike, you use ImageReady? I find that it's less user friendly than Fireworks. It has a bit more tools, but fireworks is so much easier.

Been using ImageReady for a long time... Never tried Fireworks though. Heard it's nice. Just never got around to using it.

ImageReady allows for more editing, since Fireworks is short of some options. Or I just can't find them. But I really get annoyed with the whole I must deselect all the frames I don't want to appear thing. In Fireworks, I just create what I want each frame to look it. It's a lot speedier.

OKay you need over 500 posts to have your own avatar right? I saw this person with less than that and they have a customized one =(

There are other requirements, such as writing 5 good reviews for the site.

The requirements for unique avatar:

1) You are a moderator
2) You have written >= 5 reviews
3) You have >= 500 posts at the forum

Otherwise, it could be a bug that someone bypassed the system.

I think xox saw Funn Lim's customised avatar. Funn has less than 500 posts, but she may have contributed more than 5 reviews for the site.

Hey look. I met requirement #3.

Anywho, can't any user just go into their control panel and upload their own avatar?

Go to User CP -> Edit Options -> Change Avatar (at bottom of page) -> Browse -> Find a picture -> Upload

Ta-da. Your very own custom avatar without the need of 500 posts. Or is the only reason I can do this is because I have 500 posts?
