Needless to say, those pics are also saved to my hard drive. Brilliant minds have similar tastes in hot men and think alike regarding what to do about those hot men's pictures.

I think Wallace excels in the baddie roles, so your decision was
If only I can see Wallace show that kind of devotion to SFF in the series they starred together. That would be so wonderful. Thanks for fulfilling my request
Interestingly, I have only seen Wallace Chung as a baddie in Ni Shui Han. The other two series that I have seen him in so far are Patriotic Knights and Kang Xi Mi Shi, and he plays nice guys in both. He is nonetheless hot as a good guy, but he really catches my attention as the antagonist who loves his wife very much in Ni Shui Han. I have not seen Rose Martial World, but from what you are saying, I guess Wallace's character doesn't like SFF's character in that series? No wonder you keep asking for SFF as Black Rose...

Oh, so far my fav couples are gigi/kevin and kristry/ekin (in no special order).
Nobody likes Annie/Gilbert/Louis. I think I have made them too goody goody and perfect, which usually equals to being boring.

    Yes, great minds think alike.

In Rose Martial World, Wallace's character was in love with the main lead (who I think is not as pretty as SFF and not that great of an actress). He married SFF's character out of guilt and pity. Although he eventually cared for her, the love of his life is still another woman. I only watched the parts with Wallace and SFF and fast forward a lot of the other scenes.

About Annie/Gilbert/Louis, I'm still interested in them, but they are kinda overshadowed by other characters. I think the main reason could be Siu Han's indecision in her feelings. We don't know who she cares for more and who is more deserving of her love. With a very long list of characters, it is very difficult to have good character development for everyone. Oftentimes, supporting characters can outshine the main ones.

Only in series and movies do people marry each other out of guilt... It's always a bad idea to attach yourself to someone for life because of pity or guilt. But even worse is to marry someone, even knowing that he is only marrying you out of pity and guilt. Don't worry, tweety. Sit Chung Nam in the story will not be marrying Black Rose out of guilt. Although, whether or not she wants to marry him or clobber him on his hard head is another matter.

Advice taken. Thanks, tweety. One reason Annie is so ambivalent with her feelings is because I cannot make up my mind who she should love since I like both Louis and Gilbert. Actually, I kinda already figured out adequate character and relationship development was a major problem with the Annie/Gilbert/Louis trio and with some other characters in the story also. Initially, this was suppose to be a short story, but it somehow snowballed out of control with too many characters. That's what happens when I don't have a planned out storyline. The story just goes on and on and on. Sometimes, I just feel that the story is so flawed and draggy that I thank my lucky stars that someone out there actually wants to read the story. I'm not kidding; I really feel that way. Anyway, I'm actually trying to do damage control by killing some people off. My first two victims were Frankie and Kenix's characters. I have another target in mind; this one may be a little more upsetting for the readers, though, but it has to be done as I have too many characters running about in the story.

Perhaps, with my next story, I will learn my lesson and make it short and with no more than five or six characters. No more 100 chapter sagas next time...

Totally understand your problem. I was in the same situation with my abandoned story. Although my list of characters is far shorter than in here, I still had too many ideas. I couldn't narrow down an appropriate conclusion. I got a headache, lost inspiration, and gave up . Perhaps once you finish this story, I will pick up mine again .

Mel, don't feel bad thinking this story is not good, have many flaws, or even lack character development. Remember, this is a fan fiction and you are not a professional writer with plenty of time on your hand. You write because you love writing and want to share your story with other people (for free!). That is good enough. I support you and this story because I like the plot, writing, and have become attached to the characters, flaws and all .

Hang in there girl. I will continue to loiter around and continue to read whatever you post, hopefully for years to come. What are friends for?

Thank you, tweety. It's nice to have such an understanding reader, who accepts the story's flaws and all. I will certainly hang in there. Remember that joke I made that we all may be married with children before this story will actually end? Well, it may come to that before Legendary Book concludes, at the rate the updates are going. But it is so encouraging to know that I have a few readers (you included) who have been following this story for many, many years and still have not given up on it yet. Thanks!

OMG Mel a new chapter . Sorry I haven't been on for a while, was busy with work and school but I finally found time to check after finishing my philosophy paper and found that you posted a new chapter! So I'm sitting here tonight reading your new chapter and eating ice-cream, feels like I'm watching a movie for some reason lol. You surprised me with Wallace's character, I did not expect you to make him into such a bad boy. But I love him as a bad boy and those pics of him are sooooo hot, I think I'm gonna daydream about him for the next few weeks or so when I'm in lecture. I can't wait to find out more about SFF and Wallace and I am freaking out with what's gonna happen to ChiChi >.<

Btw, it's ok Mel, I understand how you feel when it seems like there's too many ideas for you to put in words. Had a paper once for Writing class in college where I had a whole bunch of good ideas and didn't want to waste them so I put everything down on my paper and ended up with a C cuz the paper had good ideas but lacked focus and organization. Was really disappointed but I eventually got over it and learned from my mistakes. You do a lot of great ideas and awesome characters in your story and I think you managed pretty well with character development even when you had so many characters. You may jump around sometimes cuz its necessary but I don't think your story lacks organization though, since one event usually leads reasonably to another and I could piece them together logically. I think you have also improved as you get closer and closer to the climax because I could see the plot development.

Regarding the characters, to be honest, when I first saw your fanfic (the time when I did not give it a try) and the long list of characters I kind of got scared off by the long list lol. Since you assigned names to the actors/actresses playing their part, I thought it would be confusing for me to read it since I'm gonna have to refer back to the character list every few mins or so. But I got their names down pretty quick and I think you are really creative with the names too. Not to mention that I find your story better than some of the lousy shows they have on tv nowadays. And I wanted to thank you for taking your time and racking your brain for ideas to write this story for us to enjoy cuz not many people will do that.

And thx for sharing with us your trip to Germany. Germany seems like an interesting place to visit especially those places that you mentioned, so different from what you would find here in America. Glad you enjoyed it. I'm so jealous, probably had to wait five more years for me to go on a trip like that lol.

Hi icrayray! Thanks so much for the long comment! I love these long messages! No problem; I don't expect people to comment immediately after I have posted a chapter. Understandably, readers come and go, since I take so insanely long to update. (Plus, I'm glad I get any comments at all!) But I'm glad you're still hanging around.

So I guess classes have started for you, huh? Well, study hard. This story will still be around after you deal with your papers and exams. Philosophy? I can't even pretend to understand philosophical literature, even if my life depends on it. Are you a literature major?

Regarding Wallace Chung's character, Sit Chung Nam... Well, once upon a time, I used to cast actors I liked into "perfect" roles (i.e. Gilbert Lam as the near perfect Lam Yik Lun). It was almost as if I subconsciously could not bear to make the actor I liked flawed, simply because he was my favorite guy of the moment. However, with time, I started to develop a fondness for villains, especially hot villains. I realized that the reason I was so attracted to villains (Gilbert Lam as the villain in Heroine of the Yangs, Wallace Chung as the villain in Ni Shui Han) was because they had this deliciously dangerous air about them. Or shall I say that villains were the hot, hot spice that sizzled in a story, whereas goody goody protagonists were simply bland, nice guys who may be awesome men but were not as interesting to read about. With Wallace Chung, I previously played around with the thought of making him the conventional nice guy who fell in love with the beautiful girl from the evil clan. But then, I stopped and came to my senses. Wallace Chung, though still incredibly handsome as a reserved, good guy (as in Patriotic Knights), excelled in crafty, ambitious, villainous roles (as in Ni Shui Han). Plus, I thought he looked so magnetic and deliciously hot with his evil smirk in Ni Shui Han. Hence, I decided to go against tradition and penned him in the role of villain rather than in the role of the conventional hero. Wow, that was quite a long, wordy explanation. Sorry.

Thanks for putting up with the story's flaws. It's actually very helpful for me to hear different readers' views about the flaws in the story, since it makes me aware of things I should NOT be doing in my next story (if I were to write one, that is). You're not the only one concerned about having problems remembering the names of the characters. I was confused myself initially; since the time period between my updates were so far apart, I would always have to go back to the character list to remind myself of the names of the minor characters.

You should definitely head out to Germany some day. I also had to wait until I saved up enough money to go, so just keep setting aside a vacation fund and you'll have enough money (and time) to go soon.

Hey Mel, yea classes just started like two weeks ago so I was pretty much getting into the back to school mood and moving into the dorms. I'm a pharmacy major actually. I have philosophy classes because I attend a private Catholic college and they require everyone to take three semesters of theology and three semesters of philosophy on top of the regular English, math, etc core classes that undergrads take.

Hopefully I can really save up a vacation fund soon lol.

Love Wallace's character and can't wait to find out what went on between him and SFF.

I wished they would cast him in more martial arts/wuxia shows, miss him in those so much!

Pharmacy major, huh? That's great! You must be really good at math and chemistry. I find it quite grueling to memorize all those drugs properties, etc. How much longer before you graduate?

Hopefully I can really save up a vacation fund soon lol.
Oh, you'll get there eventually. Plus, you don't have to go someplace expensive. You can always go someplace domestically during off season. Plus, you can do what I do on vacations; I look for a local grocery store when I get there (whether it's New York or Germany) and load up on bread, granola bars, milk, yogurt, etc. Most hotels have fridges. And most hotels include breakfast. So then I can bring the bread along with me on my day trips and save on lunch and sometimes dinner. Once in a while, I'll splurge on a real hot meal at a restaurant when I can no longer stand the bread and milk. Even then, I try to limit myself to reasonably priced restaurants. Try eating where the locals eat rather than dining at places that have a "tourist menu." Those "tourist menu" places, especially in Europe, are such rip-offs.

Love Wallace's character and can't wait to find out what went on between him and SFF.
As I mentioned to one of my readers at winglin, the Sit Chung Nam/Black Rose back story is suppose to cast some light on why their son, the Guardian, abandoned the Seer when she was accused of being an evil witch. I will be quite tied up until November though, so I haven't even started writing the next chapter yet.

I wished they would cast him in more martial arts/wuxia shows, miss him in those so much!
I wish so, too! I think he looks best in wuxia dramas and I love seeing handsome men wielding swords! However, I just saw Too Late To Say I Love You, and Wallace cuts quite a dashing figure in military costume! I enjoyed that series a lot, even though it is not a wuxia drama. You should definitely watch it!

Hey, everyone! HaoMei, one of my readers who usually comments at the winglin site, so kindly volunteered her time and effort to make me another beautiful poster! I just want to share it here with everyone who doesn't go to my story's comments section at winglin.

By the way, tweety, HaoMei mentioned how nice your poster of sexy Wallace Chung was.

I am deeply thankful to HaoMei and tweety for taking time out of their busy schedules to lend their artistic talents to this story. And also a big thanks to icrayray for spending precious time away from her studying to hunt for pictures of all the actors appearing in the story. Thanks, ladies.

Hot damn! That is an awesome poster! HaoMei's talent definitely surpasses mine. Gosh, I've been feeling rather guilty the last couple weeks for procrastinating on your poster, Mel. Now, I can rest easy knowing HaoMei did such a fantastic job.

From winglin (so tweety doesn't have to go back and forth between two websites):

Tweety, it's pretty funny that you would settle for my random thoughts on Wallace and SFF rather than wait for the official chapter. You really love this couple, huh? I actually haven't had any time at all to write anything on my story the last few weeks. I hope you aren't expecting a fabulously lovey dovey story on these two, because, well, Wallace's character isn't going to be a very nice, gentle, romantic guy. But evil men can love very passionately and very devotedly, also. However, sometimes, the way they express that love may not be the ideal, conventional way. I thought about sending my brainstorming ideas about Wallace and SFF to you to appease your hunger for these two, but that would mean I would be spoiling everything for you. Not sure what I should do.

Hey, have you seen Too Late To Say I Love, starring Wallace Chung and Li Xiao Ran? It's not Wallace and SFF, but Li Xiao Ran is ok, too. She's not my favorite, but I will watch anything with Wallace Chung in it, regardless of female lead (except maybe for Shang Hai Wang, since the female lead in there looks like his mother and I'm not into the cougar thing). It turned out to be a really good series, and it can quench some of your "Wallace thirst," like it did mine. I must say, when you're crazy about an actor, it's quite fun to cast him in a story and make up plot lines for his character. Tweety, if you ever want to co-write Legendary Book with me, I would welcome the help! Even suggestions for the plot would be welcomed. I value your input.

Oh Mel, you are just so thoughtful to post my comment from Winglin here . But you should know me better by now. I am always open to spoilers . Good guy or bad guy, I'm certain you will make Wallace's character so smexy he will sizzle off the page (aka word document) . But alas, I have to wait just like everyone else.

I haven't watched Too Late To Say I Love yet. Are there English subs available? I'd settle for a Viet dubbed version, but I rather prefer to read the English subs.

Ah, I am quite touched at your repeated offer to co-write. If my schedule wasn't so packed, I will definitely pick up my writing pen once again. I'm hoping I will have more free time by next year. Fingers crossed...

Did you know that I actually thought of writing a prequel to Legendary Book, devoting a short story (about 10-20 chapters) to just Black Rose and Sit Chung Nam? But then, I am doing such a poor job of updating this current story that I fear I will frustrate the readers further by adding another story. And so, Black Rose and Sit Chung Nam may just have to be relegated to just a chapter or two as flashbacks in this story.

I haven't watched Too Late To Say I Love yet. Are there English subs available? I'd settle for a Viet dubbed version, but I rather prefer to read the English subs.
I remember seeing a link in the Wallace Chung thread with English subs for the first episode, but I didn't click on it to see if further episodes have been subbed. Sorry, I forgot you usually wait for English subs or Vietnamese dubbing. How long does it usually take for the Viet version to be released?

I completely understand about busy schedules. If I didn't have to pay the bills, I would spend all my time fulfilling my fantasies about Wallace Chung by writing wuxia stories with him in them. But alas, we all must eat and pay the bills so we don't become homeless. My offer to have you co-write Legendary Book will always remain open. Remember that impromptu round robin story we wrote so many years ago in the old Gilbert Lam thread with Hannie? I had a lot of fun. Then we all just got too busy to continue the story, so you killed all the characters off in one single battle. Anyway, I wonder what happened to Hannie. She hasn't been around spcnet for ages.

Oh, Viet dubbed dramas can be released fast or slow depending on the dubbing company. Popular dramas get dubbed within a couple months of release, while other dramas can take years or not at all. English subtitles are often faster. Hopefully, by next year I can feed my addiction. So many things to do, so little time to do them .

Ah, such fond memories... I had so much more free time back then. The round robin story was awesome. I don't think I saved it. Do you have a copy or is the thread still around? Hannie disappeared like many other old time members. I'm still surprised I'm a relatively active member. You are correct, we all have to pay bills and put food on the table. If only I have the talent and luck to write for a living.

Yeah, writing for a living has got to be one of the best jobs ever...if you're good enough to pull it off =\
Blademaster. Hero. General. He was the best there ever was.
Butcher. Murderer. Traitor. All that he loved, he had destroyed.

Oh, wow, this is such a nice, pleasant surprise to return after a few days and find TWO comments! Thanks!

tweety - Actually, I started out having no knowledge of Mandarin at all. But then, about 1 year ago, I started watching mainland China dramas (thanks to my love for Wallace Chung). Now I think my Mandarin has improved much. I understand the majority of what is being said in the drama and I'm trying to repeat back lines that the actors say in the drama. Watching Wallace Chung speak Mandarin in his dramas is my fun way of learning the language. Maybe you should try it, too, rather than wait around for the subtitled version. It's quite fun and you get to stare intently at Wallace while he's talking in Mandarin.

Unfortunately, I do not have a copy of the round robin story we wrote together. I think we posted it in the old Gilbert Lam thread, which was deleted due to inactivity. It's such a pity. It was a rather entertaining and funny wuxia story, I think. Maybe when you have more free time, we can co-write a short story. It'll be fun. I had so much fun, adding onto the story where someone else left off. And then, I always had a good laugh reading the wacky stuff you and hannie added on after I finished my part of the story! I still wonder about hannie now and then. Hope all is well for her.

Ren Wo Xing - Oh, hi! This is a nice surprise finding you here! Lately, I've been gushing about Wallace Chung in here, and that type of conversation does not seem like your cup of tea. That's why I'm surprised to find you here. But it's nice to see you here! Anyway, I actually wouldn't want to write for a living. I would like to not have to work and be able to spend more time writing stories, but I would never want to be a professional writer. First, I am definitely not good enough and would end up starving and homeless if I have to depend on writing to rake in a decent income. Second, it would be too stressful, and that stress would take the joy out of writing for me. I'm quite happy right now writing for fun and for free. Plus, I like this sort of spur-of-the-moment writing thing I'm doing right now, where I just write whatever pops into my mind rather than meticulously plan out the plot. The spontaneity makes it fun for me. If I had to write for a living, I would have less freedom and feel less spontaneous.

Hiii everyone, sorry I haven't been on for so long. Just had a crazy week of tests and papers due last week. Btw, the poster is really nice, wonder how long it took to make a poster like that. Mel, do you happen to have a copy of the funny wuxia story that you cowrite with tweety and your friend. I really wanna read it, sound so fun to cowrite with your friends. I actually tried cowriting a story with my best friend too but never got to finish it and it has been like 5-6 years already lol. Sorry Mel, I'm probably not going to be on much for probably the next 3-4 weeks because I do have a lot of papers and tests coming up but I'll come back when I'm free.

Tweety, sorry for letting you know so late, but I did read the two fanfics that you pmed me, just never told you >.< so sorry. But I just wanted to tell you, your fanfics were great, I enjoyed reading it especially the one with tav and raymond. I love your storyline even though it was sad and you got great writing skills. Maybe you and Mel can co-write another wuxia fanfic about Wallace Chung someday. lol

icrayray - Hi! Thanks for coming back, even though you're busy with school! Don't worry; the story will still be here in a few weeks when you are done with your papers and tests. Hopefully, by then I will have another update.

No, unfortunately, I don't have a copy of the round robin story I wrote with tweety and hannie. Unless tweety has a copy of it (which I don't think she does), the story is lost to cyberspace forever.

I would love to co-write a wuxia story starring Wallace Chung with tweety. But I think she's too busy. Plus, she is such a fantastic writer, she really doesn't need my contribution to concoct a great story. But if you hound her enough, maybe she'll say yes! What about you, icrayray? Maybe we can start another round robin with Wallace Chung in it for fun, and you could join us.
