Hey, everyone! Just saying hi from Paris!I walked along the Seine River last night; it was beautiful. This morning, I walked to the Arc de Triomphe and then strolled along the Champs Elysees. The shops here in Paris are very pricey! I went to the Louis Vitton flagship store in Paris. It's huge with several levels, but the prices are outrageous, at least to someone with my meager salary.
My teddy bear, Brownie, was quite deprssed after checking out the price tags. For example, one purse I looked at cost 32,000 euros!

Charbydis and tweety
I had only seen Vincent Jiao as Yang Zhongbao when I started writing this story. Hence, he was just not a favorite of mine. In fact, I found him quite boring. Hence, that explained why he was relegated to just a minor role and killed very early on in the story. If I had seen him in Sword Stained with Royal Blood as the hot Golden Snake Swordsman, I would have given the poor guy a better role and wouldn't have incurred tweety's wrath.. I haven't seen Vincent in anything else, but Wuzetian sounds interesting. What role does he play in there? I've seen Greed of Man a long time ago, but don't know who David Siu is. Is he the guy who played the oldest Ding son? If yes, then I thought he was hot, too! I also watched the version where he just ordered for Ting Ting to be thrown off the roof but then showed no remorse at all afterward. He sort of ticked me off.
I didn't like him after that. I guess I need to get the uncut version, like tweety.

Yes, I think I am indeed going to visit the Philippines in the near future. I like beaches, but I enjoy snorkeling even more. I live near the beach in California, but I don't snorkel here. The beaches here are too dirty anyway. Thanks for your pep talk about Lun. Crystal, from winglin, said something very enlightening about Lun. I might paste her response here once I get back, since it's so eloquently said.![]()

Mel, you sure have missed out on many good series with Vincent then. I was struck by his talented acting way back in 1995. Of course his good looks definitely helped sent my wee little heart fluttering![]()
. He was great as Zhan Zhao and Bai Yu Tang in the ATV Justice Pao series. He gained a lot of recognition as Dagger Lee, but I thought the character was too weak to showcase his talents. Minus the curly highlighted hair, he looked
. I think 90% of his series are set in ancient period, with good reason because he looks so suave and cool in ancient attire. In addition to his heroic roles, he also acted as the baddies and always stole the spotlight from the main characters.
I better stop my Vincent gushing. Don't want to bombard this thread with irrelevant materials.
Well, I'm so honoured that you've mentioned me here.I'll have to check out Cherrie's pep talk now. Oh, I wish you'd said hi to me from Paris too. *pouts* Since I'm not sure I'm included in that "everyone" :P Even I didn't know I'd be coming here till today lol. Write us soon.

Tweety -No problem, you can talk about Vincent Jiao as much as you want here, since he was in the story, so discussion about him remains relevant to the thread.I admit he was pretty hot playing an evil character, so now I can finally understand your obsession with him.
. I still remember your long message to me after I killed off Vincent in my story. You had a reprimanding tone in the comment, as you irately stated that you thought I was going make him an undercover agent or something rather than just an underling killed off so unceremoniously.
Crystal - Hey! Thanks for dropping by here! I don't see you here that often anymore that it was quite a pleasant surprise to find you here.. I saw your two most recent messages at winglin, and I have lots to say in response to your comments, but I will wait until I get back from Paris, since it's pretty hard to type on my phone's tiny keyboard. But I love your comments, especially the one about Lun, which I will cut and paste here when I get back (my phone doesn't allow me to cut and paste from a website). Paris is awesome! Yes, you are included in the "everyone," since I am referring to all my readers. I took a river cruise along the Seine river today. Last night, I sat in a sidewalk cafe in Paris and drank hot chocolate. Almost everyone drinks and smokes in Paris that I am just completely shocked. I wonder what the French doctors tell their patients...
I went to the Palace of Versailes the day before yesterday. It was HUGE, very luxurious. I have to get some sleep. It's 2 am here in Paris right now. Au revoir!
i once fell for vincent jiao when i saw him as zhan zhaoI had only seen Vincent Jiao as Yang Zhongbao when I started writing this story. Hence, he was just not a favorite of mine. I haven't seen Vincent in anything else, but Wuzetian sounds interesting.just love him there! that time it's the first time i saw him onscreen, and since i can't read his surname then, i actually searched the chinese dictionary for that word. but then, perhaps due to the blurry print on the tv, i just can't find his surname. i ended up searching the WHOLE dictionary. yes, i really did go through ALL the pages of the dictionary

Hey, everyone! How is everyone?I should be responding more in detail to Crystal and cherrie's posts, like I promised, but I don't have much time tonight. So eventually, I'll get to them, maybe when I post up the next chapter. I just feel kind aimless and restless tonight and thought I would check out my story thread to see if anyone else has left comments for me. But I don't see any new messages, so I'll just quietly move along...
I do notice that the number of views on this thread has increased since the last time I was here at spcnet. Who is reading the story, or at least, clicking on this thread?
Let me know if you're hanging around this thread, hoping for an update, or if you are new reader. It might perk me up enough to finish the next chapter.
Ok, I have to go to sleep, after I post something in the Wallace Chung thread, of course.![]()
It was me! I was checking on your thread for updates when I was overseas but didn't log in! I was hoping fora dose of Blueeeeeeeeeeeeeeey!
Though I have to say, most readers in the fanfiction section are guests. I have never seen a logged on member in here for ages. As they are guests, they can leave messages so that's why the increase in views but no new messages. Same thing going on in my thread.
Are you still overseas? I just got back home last night! So sleepy! TTYL!

That's just too funny!
Now I can sleep well tonight, knowing that my mystery thread-clicker has finally identified herself.
I'm going to admit something, but don't jump on my back, ok? I click on your thread randomly, too, just to re-read over stuff or to see if you have updates. But I don't always have time to post comments.Though I have to say, most readers in the fanfiction section are guests. I have never seen a logged on member in here for ages. As they are guests, they can leave messages so that's why the increase in views but no new messages. Same thing going on in my thread.Sorry.
When I post comments, I feel like I need to say something intelligent, and intelligent things take time to type up. So I don't always have time to leave comments.
Actually, I'm not sure if I told you, but I got back from Asia and then took off for Paris. Then, I went to San Francisco. Now, I'm just back home again. How was China? Where did you go? Have you been to Guilin? I'm thinking of heading over there and Hong Kong at the end of the year. Maybe...Are you still overseas? I just got back home last night! So sleepy! TTYL!
Ha! So it is you! My thread count went up by about 500 since I left for my holiday! I won't be doing any updates today. Have to rewrite some parts of upcoming chapters. I will be taking my time like you!
I went to Shanghai, Zheng Zhou, Luo Yang, Xi An, Tai Yuan, Ping Yao, Da Tong, Beijing and Hong Kong. I am planning to go to Southern China in the next year or two. Always wanted to go to Yun Nan and depending i ftime allows, Shangri-La.

Well... Yea, that was me clicking away with my little trigger finger.I'm sure others have contributed to the increased thread count, but I certainly have been part of the mystery clickers club.
I'm not caught up yet with all your chapters, so take as much time as you need to edit your chapters. Something tells me you'll take less than the nine years I have already taken writing my story.
I actually only stopped briefly in Shanghai during my trip to Asia and instead visited Suzhou. I really want to go back and explore Shanghai, though. Any particular places you recommend visiting in Shanghai? Other than Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong, I don't know any of the other places you listed. Any of those places worth visiting? I like picturesque villages that look like Chinese paintings and homes that look like something from the set of a period drama.I went to Shanghai, Zheng Zhou, Luo Yang, Xi An, Tai Yuan, Ping Yao, Da Tong, Beijing and Hong Kong. I am planning to go to Southern China in the next year or two. Always wanted to go to Yun Nan and depending i ftime allows, Shangri-La.
I love old places so Shanghai is like a modern city to me. Good to look at but not really interesting. Good if you like shopping though/ I went to the Cheng Huang Temple to look at the Yu Garden which is a huge mansion that has been preserved since the Yuan dynasty.
I found Ping Yao a much more interesting place as there is an ancient city that has been kept pretty much the same way since the Ming Dynasty. The outer appearance of the streets and buildings are under heritage listing. You can rebuild but it must look the same. I stayed in a traditional square courtyard housing for two days as i explored the city. They even kept the same city wall and gates from the Ming Dynasty and you get this strage feeling as you pass under the gate to get into the city. Exactly how you would see it in an ancient series. Even went to the place where the Mongolians attacked. There are also old escort companies and banks and pawn shops and courts etc.. that have been preserved. The whole city stinks but you really get a feel for the ancient times.
I went to Da Tong which in the Northern Song Dynasty, used to be part of the Liao Dynasty. Passed why the Golden Sand Stretch when the Yang Warriors died and passed by Yan Men Pass (when the Liao entered China).Went to this Hanging Temple which is this wooden temple built in the middle of the cliff face of the Heng Mountains supported only by thin wooden beams that stick out from the rocks. Must visit if you are ever near.
I think would return there within the next decade to see how things change. China is spending billions in preserving or rebuilding ancient cities as they used to look. They are slowly rebuilding all the city walls and temples. You really need to visit Bejing's Hutongs befroe thet get torn down. And whatever you do, don't eat the Bing Tang Hu Lu (the sweets beads on a skewer you see in ancient dramas). Tastes so sour.![]()
I went to other places like the Shaolin Temple as wellbut not recommended. Give me some time to fix my blog and then i would show you pictures.

Well, I have nothing new or important to say, so I have refrained from commenting, but I'm still lurking around waiting for updates.
Wow, thanks for the detailed recommendations. Right now, my travel plans are for Hong Kong, but I really want to see some parts of China, also. I already visited Suzhou and absolutely loved the canals. I also visited some Humble Administrator's Garden in Suzhou and found it extremely charming. The gardens, bridges, and pavilions in this home look exactly like scenery found in a martial arts/period drama! I was with a tour, so I unfortunately did not get a chance to explore the shops outside the Humble Administrator's Garden.
I really want to do what you did - spend a month's time touring various parts of China. But I don't think I can take off from work for that long of a time. Also, your trip must be quite costly! If you somehow found great deals while on your trip (tours, hotels, etc.), please let me know.
I love shopping, but I assume things in Shanghai must be pretty expensive. Plus, I can shop anywhere. If I'm going to travel all the way to China, I would rather gawk at scenery and structures that remind me of period dramas.![]()
Ping Yao doesn't seem like a popular tourist spot. I keep hearing about Shanghai, Beijing, or Guilin. Therefore, thanks for telling me about Ping Yao. Does the city really smell?I will need to look into that place and see if there are any flights from Hong Kong to Ping Yao.
Your journey through Da Tong sounds awesome! Passing through places once walked upon by the Yang Warriors and the Liao! By the way, I thought the Yang family was just a legend, rather than a real family.I guess I need to brush up on my Chinese history.

Bing Tang Hu Lu! I can't believe you ate some, just like in the series! Now all you need is a period drama outfit (one of those beautiful flowing gowns), an elaborate ancient period hairstyle, and maybe a sword!
Yes, point me toward your blog when you get your pictures up.
Oh, hey, tweety! I was about to email you to say hi, but you posted here first. Thanks for leaving a message, notifying me about your lurking activities.I appreciate any type of nagging or pestering from readers, because the nagging actually works; it gets me to update faster.
So feel free to nag. I've been spending quite a bit of time lately gushing about Wallace Chung in his thread, so I haven't been diligently updating this story. But lots of nagging will put me in my place.
