Thumbs up

Yay!!!! A story about Gilbert Lam and Annie Man. Thank you so much, Melanie. I adore this couple so much ever since I watched Heroine of the Yang I and II. They had so much chemistry in there and i was praying that they would end up together. I believe that i woudl have fly to Hong Kong and chop up the producer' s house if they had not end up with each other in part II. A little bit obsessive, i know.
Anyway, after much ranting, I am very much looking forward to read your fanfic. I have a break ahead of me so very much looking forward to burning my eyes out. Will be back to comment on your undoubtedly fabulous story, only have a chance to read your first chapter, which was truly wonderul.
Well, i am off on my journey of reading.
Will be back,
Tu Vi
Though I am old with wandering
Through hollow lands and hilly lands,
I will find out where she has gone,
And kiss her lips and take her hands;
And walk among long dappled grass,
And pluck till time and times are done,
The silver apples of the moon,
The golden apples of the sun.

To all my readers: I have discovered that writing in novel format allows the story to flow more smoothly. Hence, I will be revising my story from script format to novel format, so please be patient while this process is underway. No changes to storyline will be made. Hopefully, you all will find the novel form of this story a more pleasurable read.

Danielle: Ha! I never realized you could talk so much. You were really quiet and reserved when you first commented on my story many months ago.

Tu Vi: Wow. I can't help but be flattered that such an accomplished wuxia fanfic writer is reading this story. Thank you. I am also a crazy Annie and Gilbert fan. Believe me, I am many times more obsessive than you. You should see me talking to myself in the Gilbert Lam thread. Anyway, I look forward to hearing from you again. Please do not hesitate to offer me suggestions on how to improve my story.

I will not be discussing the characters’ backgrounds, but only my analysis of the characters. Here it is in a nutshell:

The first thing about Melanie’s fan fiction, Legendary Book of Sun-Moon Swordplay, which amazed me, was her writing. Her word choice made it easier for the readers to visualize the story. This story has everything, comedy, love, good versus evil, pride, suspense, all the elements for a great prose. When I first read this, I thought the dialogue format was awkward, but after reading several chapters, I became accustomed to it. I prefer the novel type format because it bestows the prose professionalism, but this is a fan fiction. Melanie's writing is so good that a novel type format would definitely display her true potential. Nevertheless, the story is very well planned out and organized, a truly laudable work. Keep up the good work, sweetie.

Lam Tak Wah- This character is a typical “xia” in wuxia stories. A character that holds superb honor and pride, one that is out for just and good. Lam Tak Wah serves a similar role as Kwok Jing in ROCH. In ROCH, Kwok Jing is wiser and a settled man. Both men are lovely husbands and fathers, whom calmness and maturity shine out, showing their wisdom. As evidenced, Lam Tak Wah is willing to give it all for love. Like most wuxia heroes, he does not want powers; avarice will only lead to a tragedy.

Wong Seung- This character has only appeared a few times. A powerful, noble king, who let go of the woman he loved the most because they weren’t meant to be. It’s interesting how Wong Seung will fit into the story and how Wai Sun and Wong Sueng would react to the truth of their relationship.

Chan Kwai Fei- A faithful wife and a loving mother. She epitomizes what an ancient woman, and modern, should be. She possesses the elegance of a lady and amplifies the importance of listening to the heart through her departure with Lam Tak Wah. I especially love that part when she and Tak Wah were in a boat; the antics between the two were very heartwarming, revealing their everlasting love.

Wai Sun- There is no swordsman that can suppress love. The quote, “A man who fears nothing loves nothing,” proven to be true. Wai Sun holds a very serious, mature personality before Sui Han came into his life. He becomes paranoid and worries lovingly about her. To me, Wai Sun is a little cocky of his prowess. He doesn’t give me the impression of a “xia”. A “true” swordsman is confident and calm but never gloats.

Sui Han- This character is a mystery. I am very eager to find out about her past. I got the impression she is a fragile, powerless lady, but she is definitely tough. She must have gone through many hardships in the past to react such a way like she did when seeing the master about to kill the baby. I think she’s really fragile inside, all girls are. They want to be comforted and loved and cared for.

Lam Mun Lung- At first, I thought he may be a deceiving person. He acted very suspicious when Sui Han was brought home by Wai Sun and he was cold to Wu Hung Yee, the servant. But he is not like I thought; he gives out a stalwart appearance, a hero.

Lam Gong Yu- She’s one of my favorite characters. Like her mother, she is elegant. The only thing she lacks is a sense of humor. I feel like there is something hidden about her. Her calmness spreads tranquility into the atmosphere while spawning her a sad, lonely look. We see her later on became very afraid when she couldn’t see. I think Ekin’s character, or Ekin himself, would make a good couple with Gong Yu.

Lam Chi Chi- A zany, joyous, and fun girl. Chi Chi is the comic relief of the story, and may I say a very cute one. Her role is essential to the story, one that causes conflicts. She brings innocence and a happy atmosphere into the story. She needs a secure, easygoing hero to be by her side, a powerful martial artist. Cheng Ka Wing ‘s, Sui Han’s big brother, encounter with Chi Chi was very cute. He seems to be the caring kind, but Chi Chi needs also intelligence, coolness, and maturity along with that.

Koo Tin Lok- Jealousy and anger bubble in him, showing characteristics of a tragic character. Even though he acts in haste, he possesses qualities of a true martial artist. He wasn’t willing to lose and he put matters aside when he and Wai Sun encounter trouble. It would be interesting if Wai Sun and him can become friends, but that is out of the question due to his stubbornness.

Koo Ho Man- The pervert. This guy would do anything to achieve his goal. He’s one to hate. Enough said.

Just wondering, did Mel tricked you into writing her a review like she did with me?

I guess you read more into the story and characters than I did. You managed to put into words what I was feeling toward the characters. Good job! Maybe you should be a movie/story critic. Just a thought. Hehehehe.

Tweety, I didn't con him into anything. Gee, you make me sound like the wicked witch of the west who has cast a spell on him. Swisher gave me those wishes of his own free will. By the way, it's back up to 10 wishes, because he said he won't count the other 2 wishes that were used up.
