Question

How do you guys feel if I change actors for the character Lam Ting Yip?

Before I had Lawerence Yan Chi Keung but...I don't know...why but after looking at a few Jackie Lui ancient pictures..I want him to be Lam Ting Yip. He just has this smile I guess..hehe...Is that cool with you guys or should I keep the same actor?

.:Chapter 12: Missing:.

Louis Koo as Chiu Tin Hung
Noel Leung as Yip Wai Ming
Cherie Chan as Chan Mei Ling
Patrick Tam as Yeung Kwok Fung
Wong Wai as Yan Jung Gwai
Lau Kong as Divine Doctor Suen

Chiu Tin Hung was almost lost in a trance until the music abruptly stopped. He strode over to the girl sitting on the edge of a rock still lost in her own world.

“Gu leung, I’ve found you. Now please return the jade flute to me,” he pleaded.

The girl turned around and examined his face. Tin Hung took his chance to study her face too. He could never understand this girl. At times she seemed to be so cheerful and yet moments like this...she looked incredibly sad. The girl appeared to searching with her eyes as it flickered side to side as if reading his face. He silently sighed as he thought he has never understand women in the first place. Wai Ming watched the stranger’s face change from expressionless to a face filled with worry. Finally, she placed the flute in his palm.

“It is a very beautiful flute. I didn’t mean to take it from you. I thought it was my sword.”

“Your sword? Ah right! Here’s your sword back. I didn’t know you knew any kung fu,” He said, returning her sword.

Wai Ming shook her head. “No, I don’t. I just keep it with me. You know to keep me safe while traveling outside. Even if robbers are not afraid of me, when they see this sword they wouldn’t directly attack me without caution.”

“Yes, it’s better to have something to keep yourself from harm. But what are you and your maid doing here? Shouldn’t young maidens be living in their home until a good age to be married off?”

Annoyed with Chiu Tin Hung’s last remark, Wai Ming once again slapped him with a smack on the cheek. Then swiped the jade flute back from his hand.

“Aye! Why did you slap me again? Do you have some kind of illness where you have to slap someone?”

“No, I just want let you know that I’m not like any girl who has to wait in their home to be married off like you think! I was going to return your flute but now...I’m not going to! Unless...“

“Unless what?” Tin Hung said as he rubbed his cheek.

“Unless you take us to the grand meeting of mo lam! Right Mei Ling?” Wai Ming winked at Mei Ling.

“Right!” agreed Chan Mei Ling.

“Okay but you have to promise me not to cause any trouble. “

“Yes, Yes! It’s not like I’ve caused any trouble to anyone before. No need to worry,” Wai Ming said.

“May I at least know what your name is? I can‘t just keep calling you Gu Leung?” he asked.

Wai Ming giggled. “Fine. My friends call me Wai Ming. But you can call me Yip gu leung, if you think ‘gu leung’ is too plain.”

Wai Ming went over to her new friend Mei Ling and the two danced in circles. Seeing her master happy made Mei Ling happy too.

“Oh! Mei Ling! We’re going to mo lam’s grand meeting!

‘Women! What complicated creatures!’ Chiu Tin Hung mumbled as he shook his head and sighed.

The three began their hike further up the mountain as the sun settled in the west. When they arrived close to Wah San Sect, their eyes stunned at the sight of fresh corpses. Chiu Tin Hung approached to examine the bodies for any survivors. But no one’s life was spared. Their bodies were bathed in scarlet red blood and holding a scared tragic facial expression.

“Ah...there’s a headless corpse!” exclaimed Mei Ling. The sight of blood made Mei Ling turned her head away. Tin Hung went over to search the headless body. In the hand of the headless man was a small emblem which can only belong to the leader of the Kwun Lun sect. Losing no time at all, Tin Hung sped up the trail while the two girls followed behind as fast as they could. They were brought into the main hall, where a meeting was held among them were the various sects.

“Whoa! Chiu Tin Hung! Who....” Wai Ming was about to ask him who these people were but he covered her mouth.
“Shh...”
“What are we to do without our sect leaders?!” the crowd shouted.
“Yeah!”
“Everyone! We should settle down and talk peacefully. It’s no use shouting and being out of control. This is what the evil White Fox clan is aiming towards. We must unite and devise a plan to find the sect leaders and fight back,” said Yeung Kwok Fung.

“Sect Leader Yeung, is right! We should not show our enemies our weakness but stand up and fight!” said an old man with a long white beard.

“I agree with Divine Doctor Suen,” said Yan Jung Gwai as he got to the center of the room and started to talk again, “Everyone! I think now is the best time to call upon a new mo lam leader. With the missing sect leaders from three of our precious sects, we need an honorable person to take on the position!”

“Right! Three of the sects in mo lam are missing their leaders. We can not be like a great dragon with no head! We need a bright leader to guide us to fight against the evil clan!” said an old nun, the leader of Ngor Mei.

Divine Doctor Suen who’ve been stroking his white beard and listening carefully to the discussion, spoke up.

“I nominate the young and heroic Wah San sect leader, Yeung Kwok Fung! Who here agrees to this nomination?”

The other participants of the meeting looked at each other then decided.

“We agree. Sect leader Yeung, please accept this nomination. In our hearts and eyes we do not know of anyone who can be in this position than you,” said a group.

“That’s right! Sect leader Yeung please accept it!” shouted another crowd.”

Yeung Kwok Fung who sat above in his seat stood up and readied his speech.

“Everyone! I believe I’m too young to carry out such a high position. I might disappoint everyone. Please choose another candidate more suitable for the position.”

“Among us there is no other suitable candidate and we need to face the situation in front of us now. Please do not deny this position,” The old Abbot of Shaolin spoke.

“Brother Yeung, the Abbot is right. If you don’t believe you are suitable enough now, perhaps we should have a temporarily mo lam leader until we find the missing sect leaders. Then afterwards we all can revote a new mo lam leader,” suggested Tin Hung.

Yeung Kwok Fung looked around the room at the faces of those supporting him and saw that his Senior martial brother had left. His mind worried with many thoughts of failure ever since he had became sect leader of a Wah San. Yet no matter what, he never showed his worried expressions. He could not let his late sifu or the people of mo lam be disappointed. He cleared his throat and made his decision.

“Since everyone has brought up good reasons, I can not be stubborn and reject such a generous offer. I will try my best to lead the fight against the White Fox Clan!” said Yeung Kwok Fung with great determination.

The crowd cheered on for their new mo lam leader until one Wah San student rushed in announcing a strange happening. Everyone gathered outside the front doors of Wah San sect Before them were men dressed completely dressed in pure white robes and veiled hats, holding flamed torches high above their heads.

“You all are obviously not up to any good. I’ll give you ten seconds to return the sect leaders,” ordered Ngor Mei’s sect leader. An old nun whose courage and wits has not lessen throughout the years spoke fearless.

“Good! Then I do not need to waste time to talk with you all. I’ve come to give you a present.” said one of the man in white. He tossed it up towards Yeung Kwok Fung, Chiu Tin Hung caught it and held it out. Upon cautiously opening the box, Yeung Kwok Fung found a pair of unresting eyes still wide opened, staring at him followed by a bloody head.

“Kwun Lun Sect leader, Wong!” cried out some of the remaining survivors of Kwun Lun sect who had earlier went ahead to Wah San Sect.

The leading man in white laughed with glee at their demise. “Yeung Kwok Fung! You’re a good swordsman, join the White Fox Clan and you’ll get all the money and power you want. Otherwise face the same consequences as Wong Tai San!”

“How foolish would I be? If I were to join the White Fox Clan to serve under someone when I’m already the leader of an honorable sect?” Kwok Fung said mockingly while he walked down the steps and level himself with the enemies.

“Fine. One is only foolish when he rejects the wine offered to him and desires the wine of punishment! Tonight is a good night to see the righteous heroes of mo lam suffer. Especially when dogs of the same kind bite and tear each other.”

He laughed with spite as the other followers of the White Fox Clan followed the same exampled and laughed. The sect leaders and sect members puzzled in silence as to what the last statement really meant. But the evil clan did not give them time to think. All were silent as these fierce warriors tries to measure each other up.

Without a sound, two fighters from the White Fox Clan lunged forth to attack, one from the north and the other from the south. Mere seconds from the first attack, two more fighters launched another attack, this time from the east and west. The delay between the two attacks were meant to confuse the opponents. Usually the one that was launched first would get to the opponents first but in this case, the second attack was actually made first contact. While the opponents would worry about blocking the first attack, the second attack would have already killed them.

However, this move was meant to attack one person, and not two. Yeung Kwok Fung twirl his sword in a circular motion around his body repelling two of the swords. He immediately release a kick at one of the swordsman's abdomen. But this swordsman prove to be skillful and easily evade it. Whilst this was happening, Chiu Tin Hung duck his body to avoid the incoming swords. The swords made a clank sound as the two made contact. Quick as flash, Chiu Tin Hung slash at the feet of one of his attackers. This swordsman somersault over Chiu Tin Hung, allowing Tin Hung to roll forward and see his two attackers face to face.

Several more moves were exchanged but there were no clear winners in sight. The White Fox Clan could not injure the two friends, yet at the same time, Yeung Kwok Fung and Chiu Tin Hung could not gain an upper hand in the battle either. Flashes of light were everywhere as the sunlight glisten off their swords. Several minutes into the battle, not one of the fighters show sign of slowing down. In fact, their attacks seems to be even quicker and deadlier. However, that did not stop the sect leaders from killing a number of the White Fox Clan fighters.

It was a long fight but finally the various sects found their way through the White Fox Clan’s strategize attacks. Fear of losing, the leader of the group of White Fox Clan fighters released a smoke flare that shoot up to the sky. Soon three figures appeared before the leader of the group. To the amazement and shock of everyone, the three newcomers were none other than the missing sect leaders, who’ve been missing for several months. Seconds after the other sect leaders and members found themselves fighting with the three sect leaders of Kong Dong, Tai Shan, and Song Shan. The strategize attacks of the White Fox Clan before had caught everyone by surprise, but they never thought a even bigger surprise was awaiting them. The comment before “Dogs of the same kind bite and tear at each other..” suddenly became clear, but all realized it too late.

The evil White Fox clan had came prepared. Now they were on the winning side because no one wanted to harm the three sect leader. Instead they tried blocking the attacks while calling out the three sect leaders names’. However, like in a trance the three continued to fight on, not recognizing any of the sect leaders and members of their own sect.

Suddenly from out of nowhere, two flares went up and the fighting slowly ceased. The group of White Fox Clan followers and their group leader retreated. No one knew why the fight suddenly stopped. But many were injured and some had died. The various sect leaders and members helped each other retreat back into the main hall. Yeung Kwok Fung went on inside to order the other Wah San(Flower Mountain sect) disciples to help the injured sect members to rooms. While Chiu Tin Hung looked around to find Yip Wai Ming and Chan Mei Ling. During the fight he had not notice the two girls’ whereabouts. From one of the Wah San disciples, the two girls had also join the fight. Worried for the safety of the two girls, Chiu Tin Hung went back outside to research the dead bodies on the ground. Not long after he found Chan Mei Ling passed out on the ground. Yet Yip Wai Ming was no where to be found.

Sioben: Yes, A person can have more than one sifu. Like Kwok Jing(from LOCH), he had like 9 sifus. Those 7 weird people, Northern Beggar, and sorta sifu...the Taoist...what's his name(whose also Wong Chung Yeung's disciple). So I think it's ok to have more than one. I mean there are probably many other examples of students having more teachers...

Noel only learned from Tony..mediating..chi gong(khi cong)? And her other sifu taught her the sword stances, internal energy, and lightness kung fu(kinh cong in viet?).

Hihi...Derek will come into the scene very soon!

Hey whitekrane

Just read your fanfic completely for thie first time today, and I must say.....WOW! it's very, very good . I think that the large amount of characters you've developed so quickly is amazing as well (well, in contrast to my lowly fanfic).

I checked your character list on your website (so thats why you wanted to know about cellspacing and padding eh? ), but it seems like some of the pictures are a bit squashed in their little boxes (giving them weird shaped faces) - how about cropping or resizing the actual images to fit the table instead of letting the html program decide?

Just wondering - is the jade flute going to contain a great secret? and who is Wai Ming's secret Sifu?

Heh, Iam sure it'll all be revealed in time right? keep on with your excellent writing (but faster though ) and try not to worry about the silent readers (I wish they would comment more in my fanfic too )

It brings smiles to my face, to have readers read my fanfic and comment too. Without readers, fanfics are just words put together. Thanks Sioben, MYF and Southern Crane for taking your time to read my fanfic. Your comments are my cups of coffee this morning..err..I mean afternoon.

Sioben: Thanks for the reminder. I'll change that and I'll work on the next chapter soon after I write one for Tales of Vengence and my new modern fanfic. Heheh lots and lots to work on. Keeping myself busy and trying to get things finish before classes start next week.

MYF: You've finally made into my fanfic! Thank you for reading. I can't wait to read your fanfic, it's just that in the midst of working on my webpage, writing a chapter for my fanfic, Tales of Vengence, and starting a new fanfic. It really keeps me busy. I haven't even finished reading Goofy's first fanfic. Which I need to find time to do that as well. About the pics in the character list, I will ask someone to make it smaller for me. About the Jade flute does not hold any special secret at all. It will later be a symbol of Yip Wai Ming and Chiu Tin Hung's for each other..haha but you'd have to wait for that...I'm planning a sweet scene for that.

Bro. Crane: Who is Wai Ming's mysterious sifu? Well you've got to find out on your own.

I'll give you all a hint. "Everything is not what it seems." ^o^
