I have never heard of Gao Yuanyuan before. Then Singapore started showing HSDS2003 and I found that her portrayal of ZZR made me shed a tear sometimes.

She is so weak,gentle, demure and quiet in the beginning that you wished that she never had to go through all the sufferings. You would want to give her a comforting hug!

i understand ur pain my man. i too was mesmerised by her when i saw her as zhou zhirou, i've always liked the zhou zhiruo character, and yuan yuan truely brings out the anguish within the character, unlike other versions which makes her totally evil, which i dont think was what jing yong intended. n maybe u can go watch miracle healer, its got yuanyuan in it too, then u can tell me hw good it is.

I was in the other forums and everyone was debating on whether ZZR was evil or not.. but I think you used the right word..

"Anguish" is the word to describe her feeling.. like what I posted in the other forum. ZZR is really a victim of circumstances and GYY portrayed her helplessness so superbly..

yeah zhirou is my fav female jinyong characters, followed by xiaolongnu. too bad shes often misunderstood. too bad she had to fall for a useless loser like zhang wuji. hes supposed to be the hero in the story yet he doesnt act like one.(the character, not the actor) jinyong shld have paired her up with qiaofeng, they'll make a fine couple, hes a 100% real man and a true hero, not to mention one of the most fearsome and fearless fighters. + he has a tragic life like zhiruo, they'll probably get along fine. + hes not as heartless as zhang wuji. look how devoted he is to ah zhu

GYY's portrayal of ZZR really suffered alot in YTTLJ. This explains her transformation from the good to the evil..

Alot of times, this happens in our lives also.. when we're really hurt badly.. we really become a different person..

Yesterday Singapore showed the episode where ZWJ dumped ZZR at the wedding.. I felt so sorry for ZZR.. *sigh*..

Now for the next 5 days there's no YTTLJ.. I'm suffering from withdrawl symptoms.. someone who had overcame these withdrawal symptoms please teach me how to overcome them..

Yes yes, I'm smitten with her in her role as a 'goody-two-shoes'.. when she's good. That's because when she's good, she's quiet, demure, gentle, and soft-spoken.. Gives me the feeling of her being 'weak'.. and that one would want to protect her !!

I don't know how I'll like her if she becomes evil.. maybe I do! Let her take revenge on ZWJ!

GYY's demure role in the current series has really made me pity her the most in all the series. but personally i think she is not so versatile to play the evil side. anyway, hope that future series will have happy endings for zzr. and hence GYY will be the actress for it. hope that spirit is happy with this answer. cheers.

Haha, this doesn't help to alleviate my withdrawl symptoms.. I think I should just go and get the VCDs and watch it over and over again..
