Did the plot suggest GYY acting evil?!Er........ If the plot were true about her child's death involving foul play, then she would just be looking for justice or vengeance. Would that be considered evil or just being angry, persistent, inquisitive or even feisty? No?
Anyways, glad to see GYY expanding her repertoire in acting skills!
The plot revolves around GYY's character who has a terminal illness. Some event leads her to speculate that her parents' (who both died some time ago) deaths were caused by her brother-in-law, whom she later kidnaps from her sister. Apparently she also has special feelings (more than that of a sister-in-law) towards her brother-in-law and is somewhat emotionally unstable.
Well, GYY had no problem portraying evil roles in the past (HSDS and TXDY) so i wouldn't worry too much. Anyway, her character seems more emotionally unstable with conflicts and stress, than plain evil, which should be interesting to watch.

Oh, it's about the death of the parents, not the child. We're adding our own subplots! Thank you for the correction. GYY played in evil roles before, but the director Cheng Er "promised" the audience a completely different GYY never seen before.**Waiting anxiously**
Director Lu Chuan of epic movie "Nanjing! Nanjing!" has announced that the male lead would go to actor Liu Ye. GYY will play an English teacher of an all-girls high school, who had received her education from abroad. In preparation for her role, which requires her to speak quite a lot of English, GYY has been taking English language lessons from a private tutor for quite awhile.

Haha.... Outstanding move. I say yea to that! GAN BEI! With fluent English, "Ninjing, Nanjing" could become GYY's stepping stone for going international! Go Go Yuan Yuan!![]()
Aw! Apparently GYY was in S'pore recently to do some photo shoots
Pics posted on her baidu forum, I recognize some of the places; especially the Botonic Gardens and Sentosa:

is severely exaggerated...
...and I'm still upset that GYY hasn't taken a more active approach to her career.
The other issue I have with her is that it was ancient custom that brought her to fame. I'd like to see her exploit this niche to her fullest--she's not getting any younger!
Apparently she's taken up a role in an ancient series entitled "Shaolin Seng Bin Chuan Qi". I would love to see her in an ancient role in one of the high-budget Zhang Yimou etc. type movies. But for now, I'm glad she's been offered the leading role for one of the more highly anticipated mainland film productions for this year.
I'm waiting for "Unfinished Girl" to be released as well. The plot seems rather interesting and more importantly, it centers around GYY's character so it's a meaty role for her, unlike the other bland flower-vase ones she played in her previous films like "Rob-B-Hood" and "Love in the City".

The pics were taken from an award ceremony GYY just attended. She walked the red carpet with the cast and crew of her latest movie project, "Nanjing! Nanjing!":
With Alec Su (they presented awards for best newcomer):

This should be the 12th Annual Chinese Film "Hua Biao" Awards 第十二届中国电影华表奖 taken place at Beijing on Sunday, Aug 26.
is that jiang qin qin/shui ling who's next to yuan yuan? i wonder what they were talking aboutaah how lovely to see these 2 super classy, gorgeous, elegant gals. wish they'd be in a series together. i like how yuan yuan's make up seems light and natural, but overall she looks regal. i'm so glad too that yuan yuan's getting more exposure and having some nice projects.
GYY's appearance was getting much more desirable. Yah, I had questions about her gown, too. The general style was good, except the color and the front ruffles/pleats/whatever they are! I prefer less padded design in her front, especially near the waistline. Instead, I like it more streamline and smooth with subtle design. That should accent her physique.![]()
