Does anyone know if it was GYY who co-starred with Zhou Xun's Beijing Bicycle or not? I heard it was a good movie, but I wasn't going to buy it if ZX's the only person I know in there. If GYY is, then I might reconsider.

Yeah, GYY is in "Beijing Bicycle". I don't consider her or Zhou Xun the stars of the movie. Zhou Xun never even talks in there (which is not a bad thing) and GYY's character isn't too exciting. I liked the movie because of the story and how it was filmed, though.

The movie is centered around the guys. The gals are more like components of the story. Zhou Xun's character does have a surprise for the audience at the end, though.

i saw 'beijing bicycle' in stores before but dont think im getting it, in 1 version, gyy's not even listed in the cast, in another version, they wrote her name wrongly, how can the packaging company do such a thing! but thn again, she wasnt well-known during the movie, i believe she only started getting recognized after hsds03. well, im waiting to see if i can find 'qinghong' in my stores, would like to see whether the movie's worth all that praise and how gyy performs in there.

I think the movie "qinghong" is lot better then "Bejing Bicycle", because GYY has more lines and acting. the story is also pretty good, too. But if you are a fan of GYY then the story won't matter, because you be looking at GYY instead of watching the story. nice photoshop, to make it better, you could try to use erase tool in low intensty to blend the edge of GYY to the back.

THanks for the pictures of her. I think GYY looks really good too with short hair. She's so cute. What does "qinghong" means, and does she have a lot of screen time?

No problem Li Nhi, "qinghong" is GYY's charater's name in the movie and its also the name of the movie. Everything in the movie is connected to "Qing Hong" (GYY) in same ways. And "YES,"Since the whole movie is base on her, you will see almost 2 hr of GYY. And it has a sad ending( which i'm not going to say). What does everyone think of 'Qing Hong'? I had mixed feelings about it. As a film, I felt that it worked whenever the director was concentrating on depicting small-town life during that period (apparently based on his own experiences); but he kept the characters at such a distance that it was difficult to get into the drama side of things. Maybe this was deliberate.

From the point of view of GYY-watching, she gets a decent amount of screen time, but her character doesn't actually do or say all that much. Qing Hong seems more of a symbol than a heroine; even when she's the only character on-screen, she sort of blends in with the faded colours of her surroundings, almost like a stage prop. Some of the things that make GYY interesting as an actress – the maturity, the brief flashes of emotion – are there, but the passivity of her character limits what she can do.

I'm glad that the film brought GYY a bit of international recognition. I really hope she can get away from these sorts of 'victim' roles, though, because she's in danger of specialising in them – there are similarities between Qing Hong and the roles she played in MH, QWLSM, and even arguably HSDS (although ZZR is a 'good' victim role).

On GYY's return, someone ought to make a new wuxia epic and cast her as the out-and-out main character, specifically written for her qualities. I hear that Jin Yong isn't a bad writer: perhaps he could do it :-). Throw in a decent producer (like, say, ZJZ), an up-and-coming supporting cast (how about Yan Kuan and Jiang Xin as GYY's sidekicks?), and Yuen Wo Ping to choreograph the fight scenes, and that might just be the best TV series ever.

im still waiting to watch qinghong. and i really hope gyy gets offered a leading role in a wuxia classic, especially that of a complex character to tap on her underrated skills. the roles ive watched her in recently are just not doing her acting skills justice. given the right role, right crew, gyy might just burst out the energy and potential i sense hidden deep in her.

I wish Jin Yong could write more novels. 80+ years old??? I don't think he could lift up a pen.

GYY as Xiao Long Nu? It could have been possible if she took the role instead of LYF but she didn't. I don't think it's possible for her to be the XLN since she'll be old by then. She's hitting 30 soon.

I watched Qinghong!! I think GYY did a great job in this movie....very different from ZZR....did anyone else watch this? if you guys did...what do you guys think?
