Yes, she is Japanese, she acted in Love Letters as well with Kim Jae Won and Kim Rae Won. But she did not need to have any dialogue becos she is a mute in that k-drama.

On www.yesasia.com, most of the KBS serials comes with subtitles. E.g. 18 yr old bride, Snow White. But SBS and MBC are not so diligent about Eng subtitles.

But there are loads of resources on the web. I get a lot of my info from www.soompi.com as there are alot of k-drama fanatics that does translation for series. So you can still buy your non-sub ones and perhaps read off the translations.

Also, try this bit torrent site for Eng sub k-drama by k-drama fanatics

I love that volcano scene! The way LBH looked at SHK from afar in that out fit, it is to die for that gaze! If you don't want spoilers, then read my review only after you finish this series.

    Hi il mare,

I just finished AI and really enjoyed it. I wish there was more of SHK and LBH being happy together in the last half of the story instead of only the last 10 minutes of the last episode but oh well. It dragged a bit in some the middle to late episodes but I guess when a show is 24 episodes instead of 16 this will happen often. I like the extras disc with the interviews and tv show highlights of SHK and LBH did in their career. They even included a men's cologne commercial done by Lee and 2 commercials by SHK! Nice! Overall I really liked this and thought Lee did a fine job. But I have to say I liked his happy-go-lucky character in HT better. In AI he was so deathly serious all the time because of all the bad luck he had in his life. So I liked his more upbeat, smiling charcter better in "HT". Of course because I am a an Asian girl lover, I thought most of the girls in this drama looked good and acted well. Jenny was awesome, that Japanese girl too (was her name Rie or Lie..I forget). The president's daughter was cute (jeong Won was an idiot for not appreciating her) and of course my girl SHK looked amazing although I didn't like when she cut her hair! I was glad the gangster got what was coming to him too. I wasn';t too sure at the end if In-Ha had no money left at all. I think he said all he had was his house and the scar on his chest. But I know he won millions from poker so he must have still had that at least but it really wasn't made clear to me.

What was your overall opinion of the show il mare? I am curious to hear what you though of it.

    Hi il Mare

The Japanese lady is acted with Kim Jae Won in Wuri's Family.
They are both students and she played a mute person dute
to high fever when she was young.

Wuri's Family is also a nice drama and is the first time when
I knew about Kim Jae Won. He is so cute and friendly in this
    drama.

It is not Love Letter and Kim Rae Won is also not in the show.

    Hi il mare!

I read your review but I didn't agree that SHK looked fat and frumpy in her casino outfit. Maybe 'frumpy' perhaps but she looked skinny as anything in all scenes to me. I think around episode 8 or so Jung-Won turns to the bad side. I don't exactly remember the circumstances.. maybe something to do with destroying the papers that would send his father to prison but right around that time he definitley becomes a bad person until the end of the series. He turns his back on his boss and his daughter who he seemed to really care about but then treated her as a pitiful rival who should be stomped into the ground and was pretty much approving of the killing off of his rivals (including In-Ha) because of his greed. In the final episode he came to his senses a bit but it was rough over the last 16 episodes seeing him degenerate into something worse than even his father.

I noticed you were a bit sad that the gangster was knifed and killed at the end. I wasn't because he was so responsible to much of the tragedy in the show. He promised Jung-Ae that he would stop the blood feud with In-Ha after they got married but did he really mean it? Who knows, but I wasn't sad to see him get knocked off.
I also agree that that Jin-Hee's role was too small and didn't really go anywhere after a while. She was a good friend to both SHK and LBH and always tried to get them together. I found her very sweet and thought JW was an idiot not to appreciate her and couldn't stand the way JW constantly tried to make a girl who obviously loved someone else be interested in him.

The biggest blunder in the story was the part where In-Ha was shot. His partner made this big elaborate crying and violent scene because he thought his friend was dead. Why didn't he just find out for himself? It seemed like everyone had the capability to find out anything they wanted to know about each other but nobody could get the word that In-Has was not dead but just in a coma.

Other than that this was enjoyable even though the English subs were pretty bad and nonsensically written a lot of the time I could still follow for the most part. I have a feeling when I watch AIMH I am not going to be nearly as impressed with it as this. Maybe because Song Seong Hun stars in it and to me he is one stiff actor. I'm sure his chemistry with Hye Kyo won't be as good as her and Lee but we will see!

    Hi tevar33

Thanks for the feedback. Nice to hear another point of view. Well, I think I am sucker for the bad guy touched by love, maybe that explains my pity for the gangster.

I felt that JW was bad, but he does not display the same level of ruthlessness the way the gangsters did. And in the end, there must have been some goodness left in him to turnaround. Unlike many k-dramas, the bad guys never turn back, the good guys never turn bad.

I also find the part that they thot In-ha was dead, a little strange. And I also found the ending abrupt. It was so easy for IH to walk away.

Glad that you like All In.

I did not catch AIMH, but heard it is good. Hope you enjoy it!

    Hi Y'all!

One thing I was not clear about was when LBH and his sidekick went to gamble for Sang-Do so if In-Ha won the game he was promised he would not be bothered anymore by the gangster who wanted him dead. They won the money but the guy they beat was found dead. It wasn't clear to me who did the killing and the reason for it? I am thinking it was Choi's top henchman but I really didn't get why the murder was necessary. If anyone can explain I would appreciate it, thanks!

The dead man (Han) sort of own a fair share of the casino that JW's father was trying to buy over. I wasn't very sure why they need to kill him, but it was part of the plan of the takeover.

Sang-do was trying to double cross JW's father byt winning all of Han's money and then take the shares, that making him a shareholder of the casino as well with JW's father. But I think JW's father found out about his plan, so he killed the feller b4 Sang-do can secure those shares. But how JW's father got his hands on the casino eventually is still a ??? to me. But I think this is what happened.

    Hi il mare,

Also at the end they kind of wrapped things up so fast...like do I remember that as it turned out Jin Hee and her father eventually took control of the casino by 70 percent for them and 30 for JW and his father after In-Ha dropped out of the business sweepstakes? This was so casually mentioned and rushed in the last episode it was a pity. They spent so many episodes focusing in on these takeovers and share-ownings and then did a lousy job of explaining how things stood at the end.

Agree, I read in another forum or earlier in this thread (can't remember) that "All In" had budget problems, which explained why it ended abruptly.

And as I said, I felt they did not maximise the potential of the serial, which is why altho I love LBH, I could only give a 4 rating.

I was watching a local tv channel last night that features some Asian programming and they were showing a K-Drama. Maybe someone can help identify the series for me? The only 2 people I recognized in the episode was the cop from "All In" (In-Ha's good friend with a different haircut) and also the pretty maid from "Endless Love" (Eng Shi's co-worker who cleaned rooms). Could it be "Winter Sonata"? Sorry, I know this is not very detailed so maybe no one will know what it is without naming the bigger stars!

    Hi il mare,

    you said:

"Yes, she is Japanese, she acted in Love Letters as well with Kim Jae Won and Kim Rae Won. But she did not need to have any dialogue becos she is a mute in that k-drama. "

Do you know the Japanese actress' name by any chance? I want to see if I can find any pics of her on google or elsewhere.

Oh and that other serial I was asking about (that starred LBH's cop buddy from AI and also the actress from EL--she played the supervisor of SHK and the other maids at the hotel...she was mean and I think Won Bin had her removed to another department in my memory serves, she had long curly brown hair in EL but in this other serial I am asking about she has her natural straight jet black hair)...anyway, all I know about the show is that it seems to have over 100 episodes (it was on the other night episode #106) and it is a half hour show. If I can find a couple pics of some of the stars on the net I will post here and maybe you or someone else can identify the name of the show.
