James: Actual redesign and not suggestions. There are certain elements of usability that I want the main page to have and those are listed on the specs, but otherwise, suggestions are of course welcomed.

And please, no popups, sound files, or frames (unless you are an expert at making them look cool). The key idea is simple and slick.
Since flash requires the user to have the plugin, I prefer not, unless again, you are a really good flash designer.

CrazyLilAngel: Layout as in creating the whole design of the page. So create an html page with your design and submit the page and any images used in a zip file.

Basically you are looking for the same layout like your present layout but with neater designs and more of your own SPECNET identity?

I think it would assist many interested if you could describe what's your website about, more like profiling your own website so that people will understand your request and create a template that has the essence of SPCNET.

Are you thinking grand designs? or elegance? Or simplicity? Uniqueness? Bold? Daring? Dark colours? Mature look?

Does YesAsia sponser SPCNET? I mean if they don't could they? This way you would generate some cash for putting up with all of us that spam your site as well maintain the server, the domain name etc.

Hey that sounds like a good idea... I was just thinking about that just now. Spcnet, don't you have to pay for the domain name monthly or something? You should get YesAsia to help out, & I'm sure they would if they have a look at the site.

I know that your server support PHP but does it support JSP or ASP? Feels like picking up JSP again to refresh my memory or use ASP since I've only wrote a simple guestbook with ASP. Want more exposure to it.

Of course there's a layout contest... like.. uh, duh. Basically I think what my dear Yonny is suggesting is why do we have to do the layout instead of Spcnet. Well I think Spcnet just doing this so the community can participate, or that she doesn't have the time to & there are a lot fo creative minds in here. It's a simple question, don't have to get all tech on Yon when you don't know the answer yourself or even helping her answer the question.
