Thanks for the pics uchikake, I love the above pic the best so far. Sooo cooool....

I remember reading an article saying that this time around, Xu Wen Qiang is not going to die in the end. I haven't seen Shanghai Tan before so I don't know whether it's a good idea to change Xu Wen Qiang's fate. So, those who have seen it, what do you all think?

I just finished Lu Pan today. Over all, I like Jiao Zhu's performance in here. He did a really good job. Just the scene where he was sueing Zhu Er Dan for switching his wife's head, I think he over did it a little. I think the way he showed his anger there was a little bit overacted, a little too forceful. What do you think, Strawberry?

The other actor, the one who played Zhu Er Dan, I have to give him two thumbs down. His performance in here was really really bad. He overacted throughout the whole series. Don't know why he was chosen. Bad casting.

the actor who played Zhu Er-dan..that's Bryan Wong. I didn't think he did that bad because though his acting seems exaggerated, it actually fits in with the story and character. Mei Xiao Hui too was very good as Er Dan's wife.

I also have no idea why Shanghai tan was great and the storyline...I think I was too young then.

Zhow Run Fa is said to claim his fame after playing Xu Wenqiang – a patriotic and super-cool hoodlum there. I remember staying up all night watching this series a few years back.
HXM will be the new Xu Wenqiang, and Sun Li – the new Feng Sheng Sheng (Hui Wan Cuong and Phong Trinh Trinh, in Vietnamese, I believe). Actors for main supporting casts Feng Jing Yao, Ding Li, Fang Yan Yun will be announced on Jan/25.
Gao XiXi is the director of the new series. He said that the story will be rewritten with many uplifting twists and turns and an est. of 40 chapters total (10 more than the 1983 version). Shanghai Tan is scheduled for open machine shortly after Chinese new year.
wow, thank you SO very much uchikake. i really appreciate it. i will be awaiting to see it then. cuz my mom always talks highly of the version with chow yen fat, and i guess i will see that someday, but i cant wait to see HXM's one. will the story be the same, or will they alter it a bit? i heard the chow yan fat version was really tragic for everyone

Is that series filmed before ROCH or after? I didn't realise there's another series with both of them together other than CH.

This is after Shen Diao. i think this is a story about a dog A-bao to mark the year of the dog. many celebrities guest-starred in it, including HXM and LYF.

A Bao De Gu Shi is not a multi-chapter tv series. The total mv length is only 136min. Story is about a ran-away dog who experiences love and danger during his abscond. Story also praises the healthy relationship between human and man’s best friend. This movie was aired on 12/28 last year in China in celebrating the coming year of the dog.
Nie Yuan, Liu Tao, Li, and Yang Xiao Qin hold the leading roles.
I’m not surprised by the small picture of HXM in the poster. But ya, why LYF's photo came up bigger than Liu Tao’s – who's supposedly one of the main 4 casts? Afterall, both HXM and LYF hold teeny supporting roles in A Bao. HXM plays a cute policeman handling a case wherein a black-n-white dog was mistakenly taken as a running loose panda from the zoo. His total screen time in the movie is only about 10 mins.

ps: i'm snowed-under lately with work and school. In case I couldn't find time to logon prior to the new year, here is my wish to you all ...

Yea, it was tear-jerking seeing Zhou Run Fa being gunned down in his version of Shanghai Tan. But then again, I agree with Chaule that the story may not be as heartrending if they’d change the fate of Xu Wenqiang in the new version. Xu Wenqiang’s death in 83’ version also clears the way for a followed-on story – the 84’ Shanghai Tan with Ding Li as the main role, which is also a very stirring series to watch.

Default A Bao De Gu Shi

Jiao Zhu looks so good in uniform, so cool. I think it should have been even more cool if he has the gun on his waist. Too bad, China's police officers do not wear one.

Somehow, up until now I still haven't seen any news regarding Ding Li's role. I also think it's kind of weird.
