i just don't like the story itself. when i watch the previous jttw adaptations (plenty of them) im not really fond of the monkey or the monsters that come their way. that's why i skipped the series though i love kwong wah's acting. but who knows, when one day when i have nothing else to watch i might give it a try

I've only seen the old version of JTTW (I think it was a China series) and then the TVB version. I don't think the story is bad, pretty adventurous. The TVB version was so funny, especially Dicky Cheung and Wayne Lai. And Kwong Wah was great as the monk. Another good thing about the series is that it wasn't draggy like the China verison. I didn't find it boring even though I knew the story already. What I enjoyed most about it was how meaningful the stories were. I think its one of TVB's classics.

saw the vcd cover of hi fly, i just realized that taiwan not only imitated the storyline of tits, benny's name in the series is also francis ng's name in real life. and benny's character was somewhat patterned to joe ma's character. for gods sake, can't they think of their own story?!?!

u pple at least have sth to watch. i have none. blah. no time. thanks to all the teachers for their hw. man. i had rather go back to sch than having any hols. no time to even sit in front of the telly. all work and no play. n it's only a one-week break and we have hw that is equivalent to 3-week hw.

I don't live in Vietnam either. My aunt and uncle just went to Vietnam too bad they didn't go.

I actually liked JTTW 1 better. I only watched JTTW 2 because it was the continuation of part 1 and I wanted to see how it will end. JTTW 1 was much much more funny, more touching, with more meaningful stories, and it was more exciting. I also like all the casts for part 1 more too. They changed some of the cast for part 2 and I didn't really like the replacements. I thought part 2 was only an average series. Benny was alright as the Monkey King but I still prefer Dicky.

As for part 3, The Quest for Sutra, I hated it. It wasn't a continuation to part 2 at all. I think this was a co-production with China or Taiwan and they went and completely changed the story. It turned out to be really silly and as much as I liked Dicky as the Monkey King, he was really annoying in the series.

Not sure if Charmaine is really his girlfriend since they haven't admitted it yet. Like Starxjoey said, Benny is probably around is mid 30s. I would have to look up his profile for his exact age.

But i though Benny's hair style was really funny in GOH (i laughed so much i nearly suffocated!)
