Yup, I agree. The dragon slayer shouldn't of had a good ending. Well, at least he finally learned his lesson and realized that dragons aren't evil. Yes, as usual there are always loopholes in TVB series. Such a short simple series yet they couldn't manage to make it flawless without any loopholes. I don't remember the themesong, it was sung by Benny right? I think he is an okay singer, he just needs more practice.

Is Charmaine in both Country Spirit and Plain Love 2? I haven't watched those series yet but I've heard the themesongs for both and like them very much.

I've seen the first few tapes of Vigilante Force but never finished it. I agree Kenix was boring, she was playing the usual character she always plays. I didn't like Benny's role in there. Judging from the first few episodes, I thought his character was kind of a whimpy since he didn't have the courage to confront Bowie about Eileen. And yes, Benny seems to only get secondary or supporting roles in modern series.

I think Eileen Yeow is from Singapore. She has starred in A Step Into the Past and At the Threshold of an Era. Maybe some other series but I can't recall them. She usually gets supporting roles though.

Gosh, I wish I could sit down and watch Dragon Love now, but I'm so caught up with work it'll have to take a while.

Charmaine wasn't in Plain Love 2, the leads are Maggie Cheung and Louisa So. Is it the only series where Louisa So plays the lead though? She's an underrated actress, imo.

Wasn't Benny the 2nd lead in Reaching Out after Gordon Lam? I agree that Benny seems to only take on supporting roles in modern dramas. Granted he looks good in ancient, but it feels like a slight, because apart from big productions, ancient dramas are often shadowed by their modern counterparts. Why is it that he never appears in anniversary shows?

Lingz13, Eileen Yeow played Joe Ma's ex-girlfriend in TITS. She was also Emperor Qin Shi Huang's mother in ASITP, the one who had an affair with the premier and then falls for Kwong Wah later (she was a horrible miscast in there imo). Yep, she's from Singapore. The moment I saw her, I suspected she was a Singaporean. She has that 'singapore' look if you know what I mean.

Yeah, I have added both of the serials to my list there, hehe. Don't think I'll be getting around to it anytime soon though. Very busy in these last few weeks of school. Finals....think I might pass out. Just spent 5 hours doing some homework for it and all that!!

Yeah, I really like Jiang Zu Ping. I think she is quite cute and her acting is nice too. I've seen her in actually several serials. Lets see, saw her also in Wind and Cloud, Chiang Nan Yin Yu, Romantic Inn, Song Long Doat Chau, and etc. All of those are ancient except Romantic Inn so I'm looking forward to seeing her in another modern drama. Yeah, I guess it will be a while. Seems like none of Benny's taiwanese serials have been released

Agree with you guys. Benny doesn't get lead roles in modern drams, he is always the second guy or even lower. But at least he gets leads in ancient dramas even if they do get overshadowed.

Yeah, I don't think I've ever seen Louisa as a lead, but she has gotten several 2nds I think. A lot of those are memorable to me too. She was probably the second female lead in DIF 1 and DIF 2. Also her role in TITS was of importance plus Battle Against Evil. Thats all I can name at the moment

Eileen Yeow has starred in numerous serials!!! I don't think I could name them all if I tried!!! She always has minor appearences or plays as minor roles. I enjoy her minor ones though, a lot of them too. Most recent serial I've seen her in is TITS.

Thanks! I know who is Eileen Yeow now. She has been in many serials indeed but I never know her English name. She pairs up with Benny in Vigilante Force? A very unexpected pairing. It never crossed my mind that they would be acting as lovers in a serial one day. Arashi, I do not subscribe to SCV thus no chance to watch this serial yet. I was actually thinking of either renting this or King of Yestesday or Tomorrow soon. Anyway, looking forward to it being aired on the local TV channel soon. Hmm, I haven't caught TITS yet but read raving comments about it in the TVB section here.


Yes, the themesong is sung by Benny, botan. I find the tune nice. I also like the themsongs of Plain Love 2 and Country Spirit. If given a chance, I suggest you give Plain Love 2 a try. Its a nice serial, with a refreshing script and awesome sceneries.

I understand that school works takes a lot out a person. All the best for your finals, goddess! Is Vigilante Force the last TVB serial of Benny? Hmm...I would love to see him playing the main lead in a modern TVB serial one day, though. It seems that he has never won any awards at TVB before..haiz.

Besides Plain Love 2, Louisa also plays a very important role in At Point Blank (Gallen Lo, Kingdom Yuen).

Yep, I believe Vigilante Force is Benny's last TVB series. Personally, I wish he'd do more modern series, and take on more memorable roles, I'm quite tired of watching him do ancient dramas. Vigilante Force starts off slow, but it does get interesting and exciting towards the end. I like all the male characters inside. Even Benny's character grew on me, and I'm hoping he gets a happy ending too. Eileen Yeow's character isn't memorable, in fact she was partially responsible for Benny getting into dire straits.

I've done a little calculation, Lingz13, the newest TVB shows Channel U air are at least 2-3 years old. Since VF was made last year, you might have to wait a while. Hmm, I enjoyed KOYAT too, so it'd be a hard choice between the both.

Both Plain Love 2 and Country Spirit have awesome scenery. I kept getting the two series confused because their chinese titles are so similar, one concentrating on wine-making, the other on tea-making.

I caught parts of At Point Blank, and I must confess I can't stand Louisa So's character in there. She was hilarious in TITS though.

Same here, I never really pictured Eileen and Benny pairing together, also they didn't look too great on the poster. She looekd a bit older then him. I liked Eileen a lot in DIF3 and I thought her look in there would have fit Benny better, but its been a while I guess

Yes, Louisa was very amusing in Triumph in the Skies. Also quite amusing in DIF 1 and 2too. I didn't really like her character in it though, did get many laughs however.

Yeah, I agree with you guys about Louisa, she so underrated. I wish TVB would give her more chances. I was very suprised too when I watched the beginning of Vigilante Force and found out that Eileen was paired with Benny, she does look a bit older than him. You're planning to watch King of Yesterday and Tommorrow Lingz? That is a pretty funny series, especially Maggie and Kwong Wa. I didn't like the ending too much though. I would definately like to see Benny in a leading role in modern series too. Yeah, I will give Plain Love 2 a try sometime when I get a chance. Is Plain Love 2 a completely different story from Plain Love 1 or a continuation? I am hoping Benny will return to TVB soon too. It doesn't matter if he's in ancient or modern as long as he's the leading character. But I do hope that TVB will give him a refreshing role to play instead of those scholarly ones. I like him playing those types of roles but would also like to see him play different types of characters once in a while too.

I don't know. TVB really doesn't know talent or really care anymore. Seems like they are putting beauty ahead. I think Louisa has that elegent look and it would be nice seieng her play lead!!!

Yeah, I enjoyed King of Yesterday and Tomorrow also. Don't quite like the ending either. Maybe it was the pairing. I perfer it different. Hehe.

Benny does well in those scholarly roles since he has protrayed them frequently, but it would be very nice to see him in a different character. Like his Nezha was refreshing...seeing him so arragent and all.

Hmmm..have no clue with TVB anymore. Lately not many great productions from TVB. Maybe one out of every 10? Anyways I'm starting to like dramas from other productions more.

The serial was good. I think my favorite character would be Melissa's. I thought it was very touching how she would always make coffee for Paul in the morning and went to grieve her brother's death at his death site alone every time..... :tear:

Yes, yes, that's the series "Carry Me Fly and Walk Off." A very interesting title. I just came across some info on it the other day and was just wondering if that was the same series goddess was talking about earlier. I haven't seen any screencaps on it yet though. I didn't get a chance to read the description of the series. Does anyone know what it is about and who else stars in it? It's a Taiwan production right? Is it done filiming? It's a modern drama right?

Hmm, I don't think I had a favorite character in "King of Yesterday." For some reason I don't really remember much about that series. I have such a bad memory when it comes to series/movies, a month after watching a series I tend to forget all the details.

I agree, I can't believe Benny and Charmaine are paired in another series together. I wonder the same thing, why not Benny and Annie again! Also, Charmaine and Julian have been paired 4 times already, why not Julian and Annie again! Maybe it's because I dislike Charmaine but I don't really think Benny and her are a cute couple.

No, Benny has not been filming any TVB series. The last TVB series he starred in was "Vigilante Force." He's currently filming with Tawian and he will not return to TVB until next year. Yes, he is in another series with Charmaine. I'm not sure what it's about though, maybe goddess' knows.

Yes, it does seem like many HK actors/actresses are filming Taiwan series, Singapore series as well. It seems to me that they are only doing extra projects with other production companies on their off times with TVB.

Well the serial with Charmaine "Carry Me Fly, Walk Off" has already been filmed and I think its been awhile also. It has been released out, but I am not sure where. Only some have seent he drama and it sounds as if it won't be released out or it'll take a while. There are some very cute screencaps of Benny I'll see if I can get some and post it later on, hehe.

Not much of Benny news here, so umm I'll provide something which will probably make people here go, "not again" but shrugs.

Just read last week's interview on Charmaine in my local newspaper where they interviewed her on Country Spirit. I kinda threw the paper away so I have to quote from memory. She says she *is* interested in Benny but he hasn't made any moves at all on his part. And she's considering moving on and looking for another. It's up to you to believe it or not, but she prefaced that interview saying that there's so little news of her on the tabloids lately, she needs to stir up some excitment. Whatever.

botan: I think it seems that lately TVB actors are doing a lot of oversea's productions because it's the company's current policy to promote multi-national productions. So even though they are starring in so-called China productions, they are technically TVB productions as well. (like Network Love Story).

Oh btw, I managed to get Reaching Out, can anyone tell me who does Benny end up with in there?

Thanks for the spoiler, Goddess. Unfortunately, the version of Reaching Out I was getting has the first 5 episodes in Cantonese and the rest dubbed in Mandarin. I'm a stickler for original voices as much as I can, so I'm going to hold on and see if I can get it totally in Cantonese first.

Still trudging through Network Love Story, the kiss hasn't occured yet, blegh.
