Hey Lady Zhuge, since you have already finished CBWH, what are your overall thoughts on Julian's character? And his performance as well? From reading some of the post in the CBWH thread it seems like there were a few people that disliked his character. Have you started watching Remembrance yet?

Julian's character was so sweet and so cute in CBWH. How could I not like him? Yeah, I remember that Sorrow disliked his character. I guess not everyone can agree on everything. I just felt bad that he had to go through so much, though. And towards the very end...

Oh yes, it was Sorrow who didn't like his character. Well, she just plain dislikes Julian as an actor anyways. Gosh, how can anyone dislike him, especially when he has the cutest dimples ever . Yeah, I felt really bad for his character too especially when he got dumped by Jessica. LOL, I almost freaked out too when he got shot. I agree with ya, I didn't think neither Jess nor Nnadia deserved him. I'd prefer that he ended up alone. But I guess Nnadia was better than Jessica. In terms of compatibility and chemistry I think he made a better couple with Jessica though. Too bad her character was terrible.

That's okay if Sorrow doesn't appreciate Julian and his cute dimples. We can more than make up for that. Were you one of those people who found Nnadia's character annoying or was that mainly cherrie? I personally found her to be fine in the beginning and actually thought she and Julian made a cute couple, but after she refused to forgive him for something that wasn't even close to directly his fault for so long, I got annoyed. Even though her brother was framed and that's why he ended up in jail, Julian wasn't the one who killed him. Besides, there was an incident before when her brother actually used Julian and his status to illegally transport drugs and didn't get caught, so in the end, it was fair.

Thank you so much for the update on "Ni Shui Han." The story sounds pretty interesting, I can't wait to watch it. His look is quite different from usual. So only the first half of the series is released?

Yup, I was one of the members that found Nnadia and her character annoying. Her acting is okay but she just tries to act cute too much, especially with that lip biting habit she has. Because of her peformance and portrayal of her character, I ended up sort of disliking her character. I didn't see the same chemistry that Jessica and Julian had when Nnadia was with him. I found their relationship boring, the only part that was cute was the phone booth scene. Jessica and Julian on the other hand had some really cute and sweet scenes. And also, I'm a fan of Jessica and I've never been too fond of Nnadia that's probably why I prefered Jess with Julian .

Thanks, I'm trying to cherish every moment of the rest of my vacation. I am so not looking forward to school again. Nope, I'm currently not watching any series. I just moved onto campus and the video stores are pretty far from there, so I'm not sure where I can rent Chinese series. Besides I don't have a VCR yet anyways. It won't be awhile until I start watching series again. I do miss watching them. How about you, watching anything? Did you every finish that Jimmy series (I forgot the title)?

Yep, I believe only the first half of "Ni Shui Han" has been released thus far. Julian's face appears to be the biggest on the cover, so I expect him to have the most significant part!!!

I do agree that Julian's relationship with Nnadia was more dull, but that could be due in part to the scriptwriters. I thought it was cute how Jess bought some goldfish and Julian got a turtle to sort of complement the relationship.
I haven't seen Nnadia in any other shows besides CBWH, but Jessica seems to be in many popular shows. I don't consider myself a fan of either of them, though.

I'm still *officially* watching "Ping Zong Xia Ying Lu", DIF IV, "Beautiful Days", and "Wu Ze Tian". Being the bad girl that I am, I've also watched the first episode of some other shows just to take a glimpse/get a preview. I might do that with "Ni Shui Han" too. Too bad school and series don't mix very well. No, I haven't finished watching "Shu Jian Qing Xia Liu San Bian" yet.

Hi everyone...hope all of you are well, and your summer went great. I have not posted for a while..was away in Disney World having loads of fun recently!

I am just wondering if any of you know where to download "The Super Trio shows" (a game show where Chi Lam appeared in a number of episodes as a guest). I tried enquiring at the tape rental stores, but was told these shows are pretty old, and so they have been erased!! I just could not believed my ears! Have any one seen or have these tapes with Chi Lam in them?

Hey, whitelily glad you're back, we've missed you. Sounds like you had a nice summer vacation. Did you go to all five Disney World theme parks and their water parks as well? I've only been to Orlando once and only had the chance to visit The Magic Kingdom, which was pretty fun. It was too bad I didn't get to go to the other parks. Orlando is quite beautiful and I do hope to take a trip there again.

Hmm, I'm not quite sure where to download "The Super Trio Show" nor have even seen them. Perhaps you can try kazaa or go to www.chilamnet.com and ask the webmaster, she might know. Oh yeah, the goldfish/turtle part was really cute. There were also many other cute scenes between Jess and Julian but I can't recall them at the moment. I found the two quite amusing to watch especially before they started dating. Oh, there was this scene where it was the morning of Jess's birthday and Julian made her breakfast and then he wrote "I love you" on the mirror, I thought that was so sweet.

Nnadia has been in many series, she was quite popular during the early to mid 90s. Jessica had only starred in a lot of series after 95, it wasn't until DIF4 that she became really popular. I've heard that some viewers (who had seen her for the first time) disliked Jessica as an actress after watching CBWH. I found her character annoying but I didn't really start disliking her as an actress though. I guess I was a fan before I watched the show so I didn't mind. Besides her peformance wasn't bad anyways.

I remember other cute scenes between Julian and Jess were when Jess was telling/reading Julian stories over the phone and he kept wanting to know the ending.
I don't hate or even dislike Jess as an actress after seeing CBWH even though I found her character to be annoying. It's kind of like how I dislike Huang Xiao Ming's character in the "Da Han Tian Zi" series, but that is not because of his acting and I still like him as an actor. Sometimes it doesn't matter who plays a certain character; that character is bound to be annoying or hateful. Do you think Jess matches up better with Julian or with Louis? I personally think she looks better with Louis.

Yep, I'm liking all the series I'm currently watching. "Wu Ze Tian" is showing its age though, since I'm watching it "with different eyes" now so many years later. Do you have a particular show in mind to watch during your next vacation yet?

I did not really have much fun in Disney World. When I was there the second day, the horrible hurricane Charley came, and poor Disney World had to close for the day. I was not able to go out at all, and stayed in the hotel the whole day. After that, there were thunderstorms on almost every afternoon. To make things worst, the temperature in Orlando was scorching hot and so humid during the mornings. Even wearing thin cheesestrings tank tops and shorts does not help!! So, you guys can imagine I was wet and hot most of the time...it was a miracle I did not fall sick! I went to all the 4 theme parks and 2 water parks, and almost died on those horrifying rollercoasters!

I guessed I won't be able to get those Super Trio shows since most of them are quite old (at least 3 to 4 years ago)...I know Chi Lam appeared as a guest in a number of them. It is too bad that the tape rental stores here have erased most of the tapes. And these shows are not available in VCD! It is sad! In fact, I did post a message about this on the discussion forum at the chilam.net website, but no one responded. Sigh! So, I gave up! No, Lady Zhuge, I did not buy the movie...I have never heard of that online store and don't really trust it.

Have you guys watch Chi Lam's new sereis "Ni Shua Han?" I want to wait a bit and see if the Cantonese version will come out. My comprehension of Mandarin really sucks!

By the way, have you all watch Chi lam's Flying Daggers. I am not sure if I understood its ending...did Chi lam died or he was still alive in Japan? If you noticed, the picture changed from color to black $ white....whenever the director wants to show the audience a flashback (or perhaps imagination), the picture is black & white, and when it comes back to reality, the color returns. When his wife, Ruby Lin in that show, went looking for him in Japan (in their cottage over there), she thought she saw him...picture turned from color then back to black & white. Actually, I am a little confused and puzzled whether Chi Lam is alive at the ending scene when she hugged him. Any opinions?

One more thing, do any of you guys know if there's any place to buy Chi lam's pictures (if such exist)? Would love to get some of his cool looking pictures...I hate printing his pictures from websites because most of them are not that clear, or else most of them has that ink marks on them to indicate the owners' name!! In fact, I was trying to look for some of his YesIdol cards because I have seen many of them at one website a few months back, but so far no luck again! Frustrated!

Tinac started a thread on "Ni Shui Han" here. I have the series, but haven't started watching it yet. Not many other people at the forum seem to have watched it yet either, but hopefully more will soon.

I haven't seen "Flying Daggers" yet, but I vaguely remember people's discussions about the ending in a thread at this forum before. I think it's pretty much left to each viewer's own interpretation. How did you like the serial? Some people seem to find it dull while others really like it, but most people agree that Julian did a great job in it.

Sorry, I don't know where you would be able to buy Julian's pictures. If there is, I'd like to know about it too! Have you tried your local Chinatown?

Sorry to get you guys all into thinking that I got CBWH. I did go out and "get" it, but my rental lady rented it to someone else and they still had it!!! And I don't think they've returned it yet. School has started for me so I don't think I'ld want to rent the serie yet. I'm thinking that maybe during Thanksgiving, but gosh, what a long wait!!!!

Hey goddess, glad you're back , it's been a while since I've seen you in the forum. Busy with school, huh? School has just started for me today and I have this feeling that I will have a lot of studying to do this term. That is too bad that who ever rented CBWH hasn't returned it yet goddess. Thanksgiving is only two months away, so that is not bad. Hopefully it will get returned by then. Yup, my favorite color is blue, then yellow, and lavendar as well.

Sorry too hear about your trip whitelily. I know what you mean about those thunderstorms. June thru Sept. is Florida's rainy season. I went there during August too and it rained everyday during the afternoon. But I didn't mind the weather, I enjoyed the sun and it was still warm during the rain. Do visit Floriday someday goddess, I love the weather and the beaches there are beautiful. Disney World is fun if you don't mind waiting in long lines. Disneyland on the otherhand isn't all that great. I just recently took a trip to California and Disneyland was a complete disappointment. The park is in need of some remodeling.

It is too bad that you weren't able to obtain the Super Trio Show you were looking for whitelily. Hopefully TVB will release them on VCD sometime. Hmm, not quite sure were you can find Julian's pictures. Maybe Chinatown? Have you tried Yesasia.com or the Yesidol website? Also ebay?

Hey lady zhuge, so lucky that you have "Ni Shui Han." Did you purchase it at Yesasia.com? Yay, Julian is the lead, hope he gets loads of screentime . Do tell us about it when you start watching it. Oh yeah, the story telling/reading scenes were very cute and funny. I also thought the part where Julian pretends to be Jess's boyfriend was amusing. I think some viewers disliked Jess because of her character. I guess some people get confused with the character and the actress and end up disliking the actress. I only dislike actresses/actors that can't act and don't improve after numerous series yet get highly promoted. Of course Louis, Jess and Louis are the most compatible onscreen couple ever, they have amazing chemistry. I never get tired of watching those two and hope they will star together in another series soon. I think Jessica and Julian are cute and do hope to see them in another series but I prefer Julian to be paired with Annie Man more. Even though their relationship in TMWFI wasn't developed well, I still thought they were so cute. How about you, who would you like to see Julian paired up with again.

What production is "Wu Ze Tian" and who stars in it? I've just rediscovered Anime series and I am so addicted to them now so they are at the top of my list to watch for my next vacation. For Chinese series I want to watch "Romancing Hong Kong" and "Ni Shui Han." I might also want to watch "Shu Jian Qing Xia Liu San Bian" and "Water Margin Infernal Affairs" (if it gets released by then). And I also I want to rewatch TMWFI. I really like Julian paired up with Athena Chu. They were so cute together in LOCH 1994. Oh yeah, I recently found MOCH again!!! I really liked Julian and Emily Kwan together in there when I first watched it, but I wonder how I will feel the second time around? I have this habit of wanting my favorite actors to be paired up with Gao Yuan Yuan because I just think she looks so beautiful, especially in ancient wear. So, I really hope that Julian will have a chance to work with her in a future project.

The "Wu Ze Tian" I've been watching is a mainland version from 1995 and it stars Liu Xiao Qing. It's quite good and the opening theme song is so pretty IMO.
I see that you've really been getting into "Inuyasha" of late. My roommate is a fan of that show too. She's always trying to get all the episodes and the movies even though she's only up to episode 40 or so viewing-wise. I really can't afford to become an anime addict right now on top of being a Chinese/Asian television series addict, so I must be good and steer clear.
My next break will be a really short one (fall break, which is only 4 days long), so I don't know if I'll have time to watch much of anything. Maybe "Zhong Guo Shi Li Hun".

Gosh, I hate debating on which series to start first. Why don't you just try one episode of each?

That was a good idea to skip Disneyland. Have you been to Disneyworld? Disneyland is just a smaller and older version of the "Magic Kingdom." After going there and then going to Disneyland it was so disappointing. Even the parade and fireworks at Disneyland wasn't as good as the one in Disneyworld. And Downtown Disneyland didn't even look like a downtown. I didn't get a chance to go to Universal Studios, was it pretty fun? How did you like California?

Jess and Louis have also been paired in "Man's Best Friend" and "A Step Into the Past."

Yeah, Athena and Julian are pretty cute. Julian looks compatible with most of his costars except for Charmaine Sheh, at least in my opinion. Same here, I have that habit of wanting my favorite actors being paired up with my favorite actresses. That's why I like him being paired with Annie Man and Jessica. I really hope someday he will work with Noel (Vivian) Leung too. I'm not really familar with a lot Mainland/Taiwan/Singapore actors and actresses so I'm not quite sure who Gao Yuan Yuan is. So are you going to rewatch MOCH? I never finished that series. Can you tell me what happens in the end when you finish watching it? You know what I just found out that Julian ex-girlfriend Maple Hui also starred in that series. I thought it was very suprising since she looked like some unknown supporting actress.

Yup, I am so addicted to Inu Yasha. Do give the series a try sometime when you get the chance. It's a really good Anime, it reminds me of a Chinese series. The story is so complex with romance, action, comedy, etc. I've only seen up to episode 57 and can't wait to watch more. I'm definately going to rent the movie too. I think I'm starting to like Anime more than Chinese series.

Only a 4 day break? So short! I think my next break would be Thanksgiving break which is probably 4 days and then after that winter break which is a month long.

Yeah, I might just take your suggestion, unless the first episode of whichever one I happen to start first hooks me.

I've been to Disneyworld once, and that was about 5 years ago. The weather in Florida was absolutely perfect and I had a really great time visiting all four kingdoms. California was nice, but the weather fluctuated a lot depending on where we were. It was pretty hot in southern Cali, but a bit chilly and windy in San Francisco, especially by Golden Gate Bridge. Universal Studios was okay. We only had time to go on one ride, the Jurassic Park water one.

It's probably a good thing that I haven't seen a series in which Julian is paired with Charmaine. He is way too hot for her! I've only seen her in DIF IV and that is already enough. Although she does have a nice body, she is NOT a good actress IMO. I felt sorry for Sunny Chan in DIF IV and what's worse is that he was paired with her in The FFoSM too.
Gao Yuan Yuan is the mainland actress who played Zhou Zhi Ruo in HSDS 2003. There is a long thread filled with many pictures of her here. I will post one here for you as well:



Yeah, I definitely want to rewatch MOCH, but it's just going to be a matter of time. I vaguely remember that towards the end, Emily was blinded and Julian had to steal the 9 YZJ to save her, but there was that rule that whoever did would have his ankles broken, and since Julian's disciple brothers basically allowed him to take the manual, they all had their ankles crippled. I also recall that it was a sad drama overall and that it ended quite abruptly, with the last scene being Huang Yao Shi (played by David Jiang Da Wei) alone with his little daughter Huang Rong after his wife died with snow falling in the background. When I do rewatch it, I'll be able to confirm how accurate (or inaccurate) my long-term memory is.

I forgot what character she played. The first I'd ever heard of her was that she's Julian's ex-girlfriend. She is now married and has a one-year-old son. I wonder if she and Julian were dating during the filming of MOCH?

I think that if I ever do get into anime, I would prefer to start off with a short one like "Fruit Basket". I heard that one was really good and only 25 or so episodes. I'm sure that Inuyasha is very entertaining as well, but 167 episodes seems really intimidating. Aren't there already 3 movies out about it too?

Yeah, fall break is only 4 days, which is very short. That's barely enough time to fly home and back, let alone really relax. After that will be Thanksgiving break, which is only 4 days as well. Then there's winter break, which is over a month. Winter break is the best, since we have finals before break and don't have to worry about studying for a good chunk of time, thus allowing our brains to truly go on vacation. Some colleges have finals after winter break, which would really suck.

Yeah, school has really tied down my online time plus all the chores I've been issued to do!! I'm lucky to be able to go online at all Oh, so how is school for you though? Sounds tough since you say you'll need to do a lot of studying. Same here though. A lot of my classes have weekly tests and quizzes....gosh, I'm getting dizzy just thinking of it!!

I'm in agreence with you guys. I think Julian also has chemistry with all of his female and male co-stars ^_^ Except a few here and there. I also like him a lot with Athena Chu. I've decided to start "New Reincarnation" first, but "Ni Shui Han" will be next! I hope it won't take too long for it to be released in Vietnamese so that you can watch it as well.

Julian is just so lovable looking that so many actresses look good paired with him. The best thing about your favorite actors and/or actresses working together is that they're all in the same show. That just makes things so much easier, not having to decide what to watch first...

Fall break is 4 days long, but spring break is a week. That's still a long way off, though.

Hey guys!!!

I should be studying too. So far school is okay. Very hectic during the first week of the term, I'm trying to scramble to get my schedule worked out. By the end of this week hopefully everything will be less chaotic. But yeah, same as you goddess, lots of quizzes and tests to study for.

I went to CA during August and didn't really enjoy the environment. It seemed so polluted since the sky was always smoggy. In the past I had only watched them every now and then, whatever was on cable. It has only been recently that I've decided to rent them. I'm kinded of interested in reading the manga's too. Are they translated in English? Yeah, 167 eps is quite a lot. You're right Lady Zhuge, it's better to start with something short. I've only seen a third of that show and don't know when I will ever get a chance to finish all 167 since only 60 something eps have been released on DVD . Yup, there are 3 movies for Inu Yasha and a 4th one is in the making. I've heard about Fruit Basket too. It's on my list of series too watch as well. Heard that it's a really sweet and funny story. Cardcaptor Sakura is a good anime to start with. Even though it looks like a anime for kids but the storyline is quite complex, kids and adults can enjoy it. The animation for it is wonderful, very bright, colorful, and cute.

That's awful, having finals after winter break ! Yeah, it's great having a month long vacation during December. Thanksgiving break isn't really a vacation for me, I always end up studying to prepare for finals. One week during spring vacation is way too short, I wish it was two weeks.
