    Hi Lady Zhuge and raymondlam!!!

Thanks for telling me a little about SOT guys ! Raymondlam, I haven't seen it yet or don't think I will be able to watch it anytime soon either. The series does sound interesting. I am still quite curious about Tavia Yeung's role. Is the purpose of her character pretty much for a love triangle? Yeah, it would be nice to be able to see Julian wear both modern and ancient costume in one series .

Hi guys! How far are you in this series now, raymondlam? I'm on episode 7 now. Botan, do watch SoT when you get a chance. Tavia plays a doctor who was a childhood friend of Julian's. She also has a younger half brother who's in the same gang as Julian and she's constantly worried about him. At first she doesn't have the respect of many patients because she's so young and sometimes "too nice". People always ask for her father to treat them instead. One day she is saved by a police officer played by Wong Hei and she has developed a small crush on him. Wong Hei also advised her to be more firm and demanding with her patients and this method seems to be working. "Yo, do what I say or else don't come back!!!" Wong Hei is a player who slept with whom he thought was Gigi's character (but it was actually a friend of hers named Wing) when they were both drunk. Wong Hei stands in alot as Gigi's pretend boyfriend to get other unwanted men out of her hair, but it's hard to say if he really likes likes her. Julian and Gigi are not on good terms right now 'cause he's on her mom's side and thinks she's an irresponsible girl who sleeps around with other women's men. However, he is on very good terms with Gigi's mom who is also his landlady, so I assume that the misunderstandings will be cleared up in time for some romance. Tavia and Julian appear to just be friends at the moment even though she's very disappointed that he's become a no-good gangster when she thought he'd become a cop.

    Hi there Lady Zhuge!

Sounds like there's already a lot of misunderstandings between the four main characters and some sort of a love triangle/square is developing. Julian is now an undercover cop? Kind of reminds me of "Dare to Strike." So is SOT pretty fast paced? Do let me know how you like the series overall when you finish, okay?

Hiya botan! Yep, there are a lot of misunderstandings at the beginning. Julian was a cop from the get-go, but then he was assigned to go undercover as a gang member in order to collect evidence of illegal activity so that the leader of the gang (Song Bo) can be arrested. For the sake of his safety and the successful outcome of the job, very few people were to know his true identity. Julian liked Tavia ever since they were in middle school together, but she never noticed until Gigi pointed it out and Julian has never revealed his true feelings to her. He especially can't now since he's undercover and she thinks he's a gangster. Right now I'm up to episode 19 and Julian and Gigi appear to be a couple and Wong Hei and Tavia are getting closer too. Gigi is Song Bo's daughter, so Julian's boss told him to get close and romantic with her in order to get on Song Bo's good side and perhaps learn of more significant information. At first Gigi found Julian extremely annoying, but now she's definitely fallen for him. Julian claims that he's just doing his job, but of course he will truly fall for her too. However, there will probably be more misunderstandings in the future once Gigi finds out that Julian is actually an undercover cop. She might assume that he was just using her all along. Yes, things are very complicated.

Yep, I'd say that SoT is pretty fast paced. I can't get enough of Julian because he is just SO handsome as usual and his character is SO loveable and funny. Wong Hei is pretty funny too. Now that he's realized that he was indeed Lin Chong 900 years ago and Julian isn't crazy after all, he's changing his player ways. The two of them are especially hilarious when they make ancient poses and speak with ancient phrases in modern setting.

I finished watching SoT! Overall, I thought it was a very good series, largely in part to Julian. I wish he sang the theme song instead of Wong Hei, though. Anyway, Julian and Wong Hei made a very good team and they almost had me fooled in the middle.... Although the love square was a bit unstable, everything turned out satisfactory in the end. This series may have ended for me, but I'm still in the Julian mood.

    Hi there all!!!

Thank you so much for updating me about SOT Lady Zhuge and raymondlam ! The series does sound really good, funny as well. Julian and Wong Hei speaking in ancient phrases in modern day sounds especially funny. But the relationship between Julian and Gigi sounds similar to most love stories in TVB series, where the two absolutely cannot stand each other and then fall in love, too predictable. The ending isn't another rush ending is it or was it pretty satisfactory. Yeah, I haven't heard the theme song yet but was really disappointed when I heard that Julian wasn't singing it. Anyways, I am so looking forward to watching it now but don't know when I will get the chance though. Hopefully I'll get the chance this spring break.

Moonlady, I agree. Julian's performance in PONR was wonderful. He was the only reason that kept me watching that series.

Lady Zhuge, in the end of PONR Julian ends up with Charmaine and then he finally was mature and responsible, being able to take care of his family and their business.

    Hi botan!

You're very welcome. Thanks for answering my PONR question. The reason I asked was because I read in the PONR thread that Charmaine married Sammul in the series, so I was wondering about our dear Julian.

Yes, the relationship between Julian and Gigi was pretty predictable in SoT, but I thought the series did a good job of throwing in some originality with the past grudge between Wu Song and Pan Jin Lian bit. At times I wondered if Julian and Gigi would really end up together 'cause there's this English themesong with the lyrics "You and I were never meant to be together..." that played once in awhile. It was cute how Julian and Gigi shared a special phone ring. It just so happens that it's the same one I'm using on my cell phone too. I thought the ending was pretty satisfactory. I had a few minor complaints that I mentioned in the SoT thread, but other than that, it was a nice ending.

    Hi again everyone!!!

Aww, that does sound cute, Gigi and Julian having their own ringtone. Oh, that's funny, you have the same ringtone too, Lady Zhuge. I don't think I've heard of the song though. The storyline with the past and present does sound very original. I'm glad that it's not another rush ending. How many episodes is this series?

I agree with you moonlady, Julian's singing is very good too. I love the PONR theme song. Yeah, I watched the series because of Julian too but was disappointed with it though.

    *** SPOILERS ***

Yes, Char does marry Sammul and then they both move to another country (I don't remember where, maybe England or France?). Later, Sammul dies from some disease and then a year later Char returns home. While Julian is visiting Belinda at the hospital he runs into Char, who is a nurse at that hospital. They begin to talk again but both feel awkward around each other. Of course, they both still have feelings for each other but can't admit it. Later, Char writes a letter to Julian telling him that she will be returning to England or where ever after she attends an award banquet that was being held in honor of her husband. I think the point of her writing the letter was to imply that she still loved him and wanted to be with him again. But Julian hesitates about asking Char to stay with him and after Belinda persuades him he finally changes his mind. So at the banquet, while Char is accepting an award for her husband, Julian runs up to the stage and kneels down asking her for her forgiveness and if she will stay. She says yes and they both hug. And that's the end of the series. I hope that makes sense, I don't remember all the details since I've seen the series awhile back.

Hehe, yeah, now this ringtone has special meaning to me too. Everytime my cell phone rings, I wonder if it's Julian on the other end. No one seems to know what the English song is called or who sang it. I really wish TVB would give credit where credit is due.

The Mandarin version I watched contained 28 episodes. Since the Cantonese version hasn't finished airing yet, I can't confirm how many total episodes there are. I think it's either 24 or 30, but that may depend on the version.

    Hi everyone!!!

Caranglc, I haven't seen Ni Shui Han yet but if you are looking for some info on that series you can probably find a thread on it in the "China Series" section. Here's a link http://www.spcnet.tv/forums/showthread.php?t=9046

    Moonlady, you are welcome !

Lady Zhuge, so SOT is around 24-30 episodes. It's shorter than I expected but I guess that's typical of TVB series these days. Yeah, it could be Julian on the other end of the phone . I don't know why TVB never gives credit for the English songs. So what are you watching now? Any other Julian series?

I think that's a pretty good length, not too long and not too short. One day if and when TVB gets caught by some artist or company for not giving credit, perhaps they'll learn the lesson the hard way.
I still have to finish watching "Ni Shui Han". I was watching "Shao Nian Bao Qing Tian" (Young Justice Bao) and was thinking about starting "Ru Lai Shen Zhang" (Palm of Rulai), but then second semester began and classes + schoolwork are merciless. So, no time for much fun anymore. How about you?

Have you or has anyone else here seen "Return of the Cuckoo"? I was wondering how it is.
