I just recently watched the first few episodes of Flying Knife (or was it called Flying Daggers? ) I thought it was too draggy so gave up watching it. Ruby Lin wasn't very convincing as a cold-hearted assasin. Wished they had casted another actress with better acting skills. It would have been nice if Anita was casted for that role instead. I would probably continue watching the series if she was in it. It's a shame that the series wasn't interesting. It's been so long since I've seen him in a series.

I still haven't gotten around to even starting Flying Daggers. Most people seem to concur that it's pretty draggy, but I plan to eventually give it a shot for Julian.

Hi Botan and Lady Zhuge, thought I should be a busybody and give my 2 cts worth. Watch Flying Daggers only, and only if, there is a dearth of worthwhile serials or you need to let off steam after a messy day. In the latter, you can happily hurl brickbats at Ruby Lin for her utterly wooden portrayal. On the other hand, better scrap this option: you might get so emotionally worked up seeing her desperately attempting to be a cold-blooded assassin, and failing so pathetically, that you might waste precious energy cooking up a way to take her out instead.

Yes, you guessed right, I'm not too enamoured with this serial. Thought having Julian might be enough to keep me going but even he couldn't save the draggy storyline and bad performance by his co-star. And, frankly, there was zero chemistry between the two leads. Somehow, I kept getting this impression that Julian was trying fruitlessly to bring Ruby Lin into character such that they would have us believe they were deeply in love. I canned this serial halfway through.

Hi jylow! I'm glad stopped watching it then. I think I would start getting really bored and also annoyed with Ruby if I continued watching it.

Thanks for sharing your comments on Flying Daggers, jylow. Julian looks so good in there from pics that I've seen so the only reason I'd personally watch it is to drool over him. However, there never seems to be a shortage of series I want to watch, so this series may remain on the backburner for who knows how long.


I've seen 2 episodes of Ni Shui Han. It's a very artsy kind of series, but to be honest, I found it rather slow. But, I heard that it picks up later on so I still plan on finishing it one day.

Great that you've started on Ni Shui Han. I'm debating whether to rent or not. When you've progressed further, could you please let me know your opinion as well since from various postings, it seems like quite a worthwhile catch? Nowadays I must be more selective as I have wasted enough money buying/renting shows that I never finished watching.

I've been motivated to continue Ni Shui Han and am now up to episode 8. It picks up alot around episode 4 and I hope it maintains this pace for the rest of the series. Although Julian's my main reason for watching, I have to say that Wallace is stealing a fair share of the spotlight as the multifaceted villain who's worth respecting. I'm quite impressed with him.

Btw, I am unable to dl the Mei Li Xin Tian Di clip. Tried 4 times over as many days but each time, nothing happened. As instructed, clicked on the free dl and once even waited 30 mins but still, no dl instructions. What am I doing wrong?

A villain who is totally bad wouldn't be multifaceted and Wallace's character is defnitely not one dimensional. He's very smart and confident during his assignments, but is really pitiful around authority figures. I think he has an inferiority complex due to his background. It's such a shame; he would have fit in so well with Qi Shao Shang (Julian's character) and his bunch who definitely wouldn't have looked down on him, but then again, the series probably wouldn't be as interesting.

It should be working because the file has already been downloaded several times and I just checked it myself. Let me be a bit more specific with my instructions.
