Hiya botan!!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I'm currently watching a Mainland police series called "Zhong An Liu Zu 2" and a long Korean ancient drama called "Dae Jeung Gum" (Jewel in the Palace). I won't be able to finish them this year since I'll be traveling overseas for part of my winter vacation starting tomorrow.

I wish you and all the other Julian fans out there a safe and happy holiday season!
Hiya Lady Zhuge!!! LOL, thanks for keeping your fingers crossed for me. Oh, that's right, "Zhong An Liu Zu 2" stars the younger Julian, right? I've heard of" Jewel in the Palace," it seems like quite a popular series. How many episodes is it? Oh yeah, I've just finished up a Korean series, called "Full House." Have you seen it? I've been curious about K-dramas so decided to watch it from online. Overall, it wasn't bad at all, cute and funny. I was pretty addicted to it. I'm looking forward to watching more K-dramas.

You probably won't read this until you get back but have fun on your trip!

    Oopsy, getting off topic.

    HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!!!

Hi botan! I just got back last night. It was a lot of fun, thanks! Yep, ZALZ 2 has the "younger Julian" in it. JitP had really high ratings just about everywhere it was shown, so I'm giving it a try. It's 70 episodes total, although there may be other differently cut versions available. I'm up to episode 23 now and frankly, I find it overrated. It's good, but not as good as I was expecting. I guess that's the downside of listening to all the hype for over a year before watching it for myself. I've seen one episode of Full House and it seems pretty enjoyable. I'll watch the rest when I get a chance, but I'm glad you liked it. I assume it was your first Korean series?

Yes, we're off-topic, but right now it's all a waiting game with Julian...waiting for his series to be released, that is.

I like Julian ever since I watched him in Remembrance and he matche very well with Kenix in this series.

In Shades of Truth, I liked him with Gigi Lai.

Julian's most recent released Mainland series is Ni Shui Han. We still have to wait for Mei Li Xin Tian Di (A Beautiful New World) and Lu Xiao Feng to come out.

I'm currently watching Julian in Point of No Return. It's enjoyable so far, but I've read that it pretty much goes downhill after Damien's character dies. I like Julian and Damien the most. Julian is so funny as the spoiled Tian Ci, especially when he was trying to coax money from his relatives and singing those sad sappy songs.

Hi there Lady Zhuge!!! Welcome back! Glad to hear that you had fun on your trip. Where did you go this time? Shanghai?

Wow, 70 episodes is quite long. I hate it when that happens, having high expectations for a series because of all the hype and then ending up disappointed when you finally get a chance to watch it. Have you finished watching both series yet? Overall, how were they?

Yup, "Full House" is my very first Korean series. Do watch the rest of the series when you get the chance. It has it's flaws but overall, It's a fun series, something you can watch to pass time or for times you feel like watching a simple light-hearted romantic comedy.

Yup, the beginning was pretty enjoyable but I thought the last half was really bad. Everyone has their own preferences though, some people actually loved the series.

Thanks, botan. I went to Shanghai, San Ya, Shen Zhen, and Hong Kong.

I've shelved both JitP and ZALZ 2 for now and probably won't finish them for awhile. ZALZ 2 wasn't nearly as enjoyable as the first one and I miss some of the original cast members. I've just been in TVB mode of late for some reason, having recently watched Placebo Cure and Summer Heat and now trying to finish up Point of No Return before my winter break ends.

I definitely will finish up Full House sometime. I hope you watch more Korean series in the future.

I'm up to episode 18 now. I loved the part where Julian was trying to explain all the stuff "he drew" on "his" test to his family members. His sweet-talking mouth brings to mind Julian's character Yang Guang's from TMWFI. All the parts involving Julian and Damian (yay, I'm spelling his name correctly now) are either really funny or touching. It was so sad when Damian was dying and he made Julian and Angie say goodbye to him every time he was feeling faint because he didn't know if he would wake up again.

Unfortunately, PONR has indeed taken a turn for the worse since Damian died. Charmaine was so confident earlier, but has now turned into this insecure and annoying moper. She should actually thank Julian for saving her from the likes of Kevin Cheng's evil character. Julian is still too good for her, though. This is the third TVB series in a row I've watched where two of the main leads start off disliking one another, but then end up together romantically.

Congrats to our dear Julian on being nominated for 5 and winning 3 Astro Awards in Malaysia for his role and involvement in Point of No Return (I guess I'm watching this series at the right time ): Top 10 Favorite Roles, Favorite Couple, and Favorite Theme Song!!!

    http://ent.sina.com.cn/v/h/2006-01-10/1221954707.html

The same article also mentions that Julian has been in Beijing busy making a new series called "Long Men Yi Zhan" ( 龙门驿站 ). Poor Julian has been battling a cold and has been physically weak of late. Even so, he flew to Malaysia for the Awards ceremony, gave a memorable performance of the PONR theme song, then flew back to Beijing for work. I hope he doesn't overwork himself.

Thank you very much for the all the news Lady Zhuge! Wow, congratulations to Julian and Anita! Congrats on his awards too!

I went to Shanghai, San Ya, Shen Zhen, and Hong Kong.
Wow, you went to a lot of different cities in China, sounded like fun.

I've shelved both JitP and ZALZ 2 for now and probably won't finish them for awhile. ZALZ 2 wasn't nearly as enjoyable as the first one and I miss some of the original cast members. It seems like it's the case most of the time, second parts to series/movies aren't as good as the first parts. It does sound like you're in TVB mode since you've watched three in a row now. I haven't seen Placebo Cure or Summer Heat. Actually I haven't watched any of the recent TVB series. Are either of them interesting?

I definitely will finish up Full House sometime. I hope you watch more Korean series in the future.
I hope to watch more Korean series in the future too. Actually, I'm currently watching one called "My Name is Kim Sam Soon" and it's not bad so far. I have a couple of other series I want to watch after I finish this one.

About PONR, I agree, the part with Julian explaining the drawings on his test was very funny. Yup, yup, I enjoyed the scenes with Julian and Damien too. I thought Charmaine's character was okay when the series first started but later on I didn't like her too much (I felt the same about the actress too). Julian's character became annoying towards the end as well. My goodness, he moped and cried so much. Yeah, there are a lot of TVB series with the "hate and then love" type relationship. But I think a lot of Asian series/stories in general have this type of love story. Anyways, do keep us posted with your thoughts on PONR.

Placebo Cure was pretty good. The cases were interesting and for the most part, refreshing. Sunny's character was perfect hubby material. Summer Heat started out with a promising premise, but the series just deteriorated and got too repetitive. The ending was kind of a letdown and not much of a surprise either.

I am still in TVB mode, having finished both Point of No Return and Split Second (pretty dark and depressing with strong background music) and am now watching The Trust of a Lifetime (interesting cases) and Net Deception (just watched episode 1, so not much to comment on yet). I posted my closing thoughts on PONR in its thread here (on page 5) if you're interested.

I've seen MNIKSS. It's a more mature version of Full House. I enjoyed the humor, especially the bathroom scenes.

What are the other series you're interested in watching after this?

I was hoping Julian's character would just move on with his life and concentrate on the family business, but it was evident that he still wasn't over Charmaine's character even after she'd married Sammul's character. I also couldn't believe how Julian's character got down on his knees and begged her numerous times!

That's true, it's probably harder to find a love story that doesn't start off with the "hate and then love" formula.

You've seen Return of the Cuckoo, right? How does it compare to PONR?

In the article I posted earlier about Anita's pregnancy, it mentioned that the news was to be kept private at first, but Julian couldn't wait to tell the world that he was going to be a Daddy! That is just so sweet.

Oooh, another new series for Julian. Wow. His schedule will be pretty packed, but I bet he will take some time off around and/or soon after the birth of his first child.

I'm currently watching ICAC Investigators 2004, but Julian is only in one of the cases. I also started Return of the Cuckoo and Julian's character is so adorable and kind.

Awww thats so cute! I hope them both the very best! Thats good to hear. As much as I loved to see him onscreen it would be great for him to take time off to not only look after his child AND get some rest. He needs it!!
