Yep, they're from 2002. I think Anita looks better with long hair too, but she still looks nice with short hair. It's funny how Julian prefers women with long hair, but Anita has short hair. When they first started dating, Anita had long hair, but for most of their time together, she's had short hair.

Yep, Anita has long hair now. I totally agree with you. Their relationship is much more than just skin deep. That's why I have faith they'll be one of those rare celebrity couples that will (continue to) withstand the test of time.

Placebo Cure was pretty good. The cases were interesting and for the most part, refreshing. Sunny's character was perfect hubby material. Summer Heat started out with a promising premise, but the series just deteriorated and got too repetitive. The ending was kind of a letdown and not much of a surprise either.

I am still in TVB mode, having finished both Point of No Return and Split Second (pretty dark and depressing with strong background music) and am now watching The Trust of a Lifetime (interesting cases) and Net Deception (just watched episode 1, so not much to comment on yet). I posted my closing thoughts on PONR in its thread here (on page 5) if you're interested.

How was "Split Second?" I haven't heard of "The Trust of a Lifetime." A very recent series I am assuming. Seems like you are watching a lot of Modern dramas. No ancient series?

I was hoping Julian's character would just move on with his life and concentrate on the family business, but it was evident that he still wasn't over Charmaine's character even after she'd married Sammul's character. I also couldn't believe how Julian's character got down on his knees and begged her numerous times!

I felt the same way when I watched this series. Initially I thought that it would be about Julian's character learning to be more responsible and that it would be something meaningful but instead, the series focused mostly on love. I wanted to slap Tin Chi everytime he got down on his knees. I agree, he deserved so much better. I didn't find the love story tragic or touching at all.

I've seen MNIKSS. It's a more mature version of Full House. I enjoyed the humor, especially the bathroom scenes.

What are the other series you're interested in watching after this?

I just finished up MNIKSS and really enjoyed it, I loved the humor. LOL, I agree about the bathroom scenes. That scene where Sam Shik runs out of toilet paper and Sam Soon talks about his blood type was so hilarious. I crack up everytime I think about it. Yeah, I suppose MNIKSS could be considered a more mature version of "Full House." But between the two series, I don't really prefer one more than the other, I enjoyed them both very much.

I tried a couple of the series I was interested in over the weekend. Let's see, I tried "Sweet 18," "Lovers in Paris," and "Joyful Girl's Success Story." All three series didn't really appeal to me. I also tried "I'm Sorry, I Love You," and then I realized it was a drama series and I didn't feel like watching a drama so I decided not to continue it. Oh yeah, I also tried "The Sweet Spy" but unfortunately the subtitles weren't in sync with the dialogue so I couldn't watch that one either. Now, I'm watching "Super Rookie" and have started on the first episode of "Princess Hours." Oh, do you have any comedies series to recommend?

I've only seen the first couple of episodes of ROTC so not much comment on how they compare. The storyline didn't seem realistic to me and it seemed like another series that was more focused on love instead of being something meaningful. I think I would have been very disappointed with it, like how I was with PONR, if I had continued watching it. How do you like it so far?

Personally, I liked Split Second, but there are many others who don't. The Trust of a Lifetime is from 2002 and stars Roger Kwok and Amy Kwok. Yeah, I've been watching alot of modern series these days. It just depends on what I'm in the mood for, I guess.

Oh, sorry to hear that you didn't like Sweet 18. That and I'm Sorry, I Love You are my top 2 favorite Korean series that I've seen so far. I strongly disliked Lovers in Paris and haven't seen any of the others you've tried or have been watching. We may have somewhat different taste when it comes to Korean series, so I'm not sure if these will appeal to you, but I enjoyed Romance and Hotelier. They're not exactly comedy series, but do have some comedic elements. With all the Korean series you've been seeing, soon I'll be asking you for recommendations.

I've actually finished ROTC now and really enjoyed it. Julian did a wonderful job as Wen Chu. There were several very well-acted emotional scenes that helped make it one of the better TVB series I've seen. There are some flaws, but overall it did not disappoint me like PONR eventually did. If you're interested, here is the thread I started on the series with more complete commentary (okay, and some wishful thinking too ).

I think my next Julian series will be Dare to Strike. Have you heard of that one?

There's no official English title for that series. "Ni Shui Han" is the name of a sword in the series.

Ni = backwards
Shui = water/river
Han = cold

It's seems like half and half for Split Second. Some people seem to like it a lot while others dislike it. I guess I'm really behind with TVB series since I haven't heard of Trust of a Lifetime. Sounds like a good cast though. Both Roger and Amy are good actors. I never knew they were actually in a series together.

Yes, it has been released in Vietnamese. I have no idea what the title the Vietnamese title is though.

The primary reason I didn't like LIP was the main actress/character. She just irritated me trying to act cute when she wasn't (at least I didn't find her to be). Her face looked so unnatural at certain points too...went overboard on the plastic surgery. The series also became pretty draggy in the middle and I kind of lost interest, but I did manage to finish watching it. I guess I was expecting more from a series that had the second highest ratings that year.

I definitely agree. Julian is not only eyecandy, but his performances never disappoint either.

Yes, I lost interest with Dare to Strike. I don't remember why though since I watched it a while back, maybe I found it too draggy. I don't plan on finishing it either. Seems like a lot of people liked the series though. Maybe you should give it a try and see how you like it. Are you planning to watch any other series of Julian's?
