Reporters brought up his old relationship with Ruby Lin time over time, but Jimmy Lin is never annoyed by it. He will not avoid talking about anyone or any issues. “People who know me know that I am nice to everyone, not just to old friends. I am a Libra. I don’t have enemies.

There are all kinds of people in the entertainment industry, but there are not many like Jimmy Lin who became a superstar shortly after he debuted at 17. There are not many who could surpass his achievements even today. What is envious about him is that after his success he was able to turn his fervor for racing into a career. He became a racer and owns his racing team. His racing records are outstanding too. He also excels in his many other businesses. “I am not just a dreamer. I fulfill my dreams. I don’t just talk. I will try to achieve them.” Successful at a young age, he is a perfect 10 investor and player. What is strange about him is that he has not starred in a modern series in his 15 years in the industry. My Lucky Star is his first modern idol series.

What interested you in My Lucky Star?
My character is the heir to a jewelry empire. I don’t want to inherit the family business so I became a F1 racer. I can bring my resources and racing skills into the series so viewers can see a very different Jimmy. This character also has a lot of emotional scenes. I have to use my eyes to portrait a lonely man who lost his lover. It is very challenging and viewers can see my mature side.

You were going to pierce your ears for this character but were stopped by your father. What else did he stop you from doing?
Racing! But I was determined. I don’t really like punching holes in my body anyway. I am quite old-fashioned. My father asked the fortune teller and was told that it would be bad for my children.

You have tasted success at a young age. Would you feel that nothing matters now?
I take it easy now. I have come a long way, but every award is still a nod of approval by others and I really appreciate it. What matters now is quality and not quantity. I will do only one good series/movie and album a year.

Will you be embarrassed when someone tells you that he/she likes you since childhood?
No. I am used to it. It is comforting and I am happy to hear that. In the past I saw a lot of fans right in front of me but I didn’t feel the numbers were overwhelming. But I am moved that after so many years they still want to say that.

You have your ups and downs in your career. What do you think is most important now?
Happiness. There are a lot of things we don’t have a choice in. Just try to make yourself happy. It is hard but you always come across people or things that you don’t like. Just adjust your attitude to face it.

Happiness is most important to you. What made you happy last year?
It is my new album. It was done well and sold well too. A lot of people rediscovered Jimmy Lin. A lot of old fans came back. Some are moms now. They brought their kids along to support me.

I heard that you still give presents to Ruby Lin. Are you not afraid that it will upset your new girlfriends? Are you that nice to all your ex-girlfriends?
It is just a rumor. We just talk on the phone. We are still friends. People who know me know that I am nice to all friends, not just girlfriends. I am a Libra. I get along with everyone.

What is the most romantic thing that you did with your girlfriend?
I don’t remember… Why don’t we talk about the most romantic thing that I want to do with my future girlfriend. I will see if I can rent the grounds of Taipei 101 and set off fireworks for her. Ha Ha. But maybe I will have to donate 30M first!

You said you were going to get married at 35. How is that coming along? Will you have a racing wedding?
That’s my goal. It will take some time since I still don’t have a girlfriend. Racing wedding? That’s too exciting. I love racing. But a traditional wedding is good enough.

Why don’t you tell us who is your ideal girlfriend.
Maybe someone like my co-star, Liu He Na. We spent a lot of time filming together. She is very lovely, carefree, and easy to get along with.

I heard that you are like the multi-millionaire you portrait in the series. Aren’t you afraid that girls will want to be with you for your money and fame?
I don’t think so. I should be able to tell the difference.

We know that you have many interests. What goals you haven’t achieved?
I want a yacht so I can travel in. I have already finished taking lessons. I just need to go get a license. I want a business license for operating a boat and rescuing. I hope I can achieve that goal soon.
