hey guys. today is the opening ceremony of the China Rally Championship in Beijing. Fans reported that jimmy was super hot. more than 100 fans were there all wearing the jimmy t-shirt. still waiting for the vid. will ul asap.

Sports.qq.com did an interviw with him b4 the race. it's very technical stuff. i'll try to translate some of it. he pleaded with fans to give him some private time during his race. he needs time to rest. he only has 20 mins between races to rest.

hi starbee. u r back. racing is very exhausting on the mind and body, esp in very hot weather. it's a steam bath inside the 3 layer fire-retardant racing suits. he only gets 20 mins to rest between races. we can see there's no private rooms under the tents for the racers to rest. imagine trying to sit down and doze off with hundred pairs of eyes staring at him and cameras snapping his pics while he yawns. poor jimmy. remember in the last race in nanjing. 1 mean reporter wrote that he was cold-blooded when he ignored a small child who was calling out to him.

anyway, good luck jimmy in tomorrow's race.

Jimmy Lin kick-started the festivities at the CRC race.
The opening ceremony of the CRC was held on 2009-07-08 at 2:30pm. The 2nd racer to appear is the star racer Jimmy Lin of Speedone. He pushed the festiviies to a climax. When he stood on the window and waved to the crowd all the racing fans and jimmy fans screamed in high pitches to root for their idol. Some racing fans even dived on the ground to fight for the souvenirs he threw at the crowd. Looks like Jimmy Lin's participation made the CRC even more popular.

The participation of all the stars in the CRC not only brought fame to the teams it also helped in the development of the sports in China. CRC has to keep raising its awareness among the public in order to attract more sponsors.

Guys, remember that jerk Han Han who's so condescending about jimmy's racing skills. I was reading about other racing news and came across this. Han Han made a stupid mistake and crashed with another racer during a race. he was penalized and had to sit out for some time. this is his reaction to it. don't want to post it here. go look at it yourself.

OMG. another racer ahead of jimmy dropped out b/c of car troubles. Jimmy is now #4. He is one step from the winner's podium, with a chance to spray champagne. OMG. I hope he'll do well on Friday and win a cup. Let's pray for our Jimmy.

After the 1st day of racing, Jimmy Lin of the Guangxi Speedone Racing Team is placed at #4 in the International Group. He is one step from spraying champagne on the winner’s podium.

Reporter: Jimmy, can you tell us how the race went today.
Jimmy: I raced in Beijing before in 2007 and got 5th place among all Chinese racers. This time I think the roads are smoother and nicer, basically the same as before. I drove in the way I am used to and adjusted according to the road conditions. All the teams are looking at the EVO 10. They were planning to use the EVO 10 but then decided to stick with the EVO 9 because everyone is not familiar with the EVO 10. We tune the EVO 10 conservatively. Basically power is about the same but I feel that the advantage of the EVO 10 is the stability during turns. It is wider and longer and easier to control. The only disadvantage is the engine power is not as high. If it’s 10% higher my results could be even better.

Reporter: You are used to racing on paved roads. How did it go?
Jimmy: Pretty well. I think I did quite well. If the condition of the car is better I could have a chance to overtake the racers in front of me.

Reporter: Tomorrow roads are all downhill. What strategies will you use?
Jimmy: I think downhill is no difference than uphill. I’ll just race as I did today.

where is everyone? I feel like i am talking to myself. I posted all the news and pics from the CRC race and not a single soul responded. Am i alone on this planet????

I'm just a little upset. From what i gathered Jimmy blew a tire on the last day of racing and lost 3 mins changing tires. 3 mins make a world of diff between #4 and #6. He dropped 2 slots and finished the CRC race as the 6th chinese racer in Group N4 (international). so no trophy for jimmy. he must be disappointed. He was 5th in the same race in 2007. He did worse this yr. Captain Tan is #7.
