So happy.. just seen Jimmy's on Hongkong TVB entertainment news about his coming concert & car racing .

Recently lots of news about HK pop idol Andy Lau who deny his relationship for over 10yrs with Carol Chu (Malaysia beauty queen). Yesterday they were caught at the airport after Carol's father funeral. Lots of Medias attack them with questions about their secret relationship, they even didn't care about Andy Lau & Carol's feeling after funeral. What a cruel Medias!

Suddenly I think about Jimmy, hope this wont be happened on him
Being an idol, he has to protect his personal life.
Jimmy is the first generation of little king of pop in Taiwan, same as Andy Lau in Hongkong. That is why lots of taiwan younger pop stars admire his success, even until now they still cant understand why he always success in every works (album, drama, racing & lots of business). He is a senior & good model in taiwan entertainment industry for younger generation. He doesnt need to compete with them anymore. That is why he is not active in Taiwan (also for the sake of his crazy dream as car racer ). But he did make a come back in 2006 for his latest album & idol drama series in Taiwan, and create a big sensation & proved his popularity.

Can u guys imagine, if Jimmy is as active as Andy Lau in singing & acting, how popular he could be? But he will keep his personal life forever, until being caught in public like Andy Lau today...

Ok, finally got my plane ticket to Shanghai, but does not have the concert ticket yet. I sure hope my friend can pull some magic and get me a front row seat!

i read about Carol Chu's coming out as Andy Lau's gf/wife in AF. good for her and bad for Andy Lau. You know what. I'm a lit worried that'll happen to jimmy too. he's been hiding his gf. when the paparazzi get that pic of them hugging/holding hands in public it'll explode into another circus. i mean andy/carol is no longer news. so who's next. is jimmy lin already married and have, oh gosh, kids.

i agree with u jimmy no longer needs to compete with the younger generation of idols in taiwan. he even said that he's very picky with scripts now and won't act for money. so he just does what pleases him which is car racing. just look at him with his beloved race car. Racing is a grueling sports. Racers have to endure the heat, the loud engine noises, and the stress to their bodies. but jimmy shines when he's racing. Andy Lau is famous and all that but jimmy is doing what he loves most and be sucessful in it. His upcoming concert tour is one of his dreams. i wish he could also make that racing movie/series that he wanted so badly.

I am so sorry to hear that! There is no Swine flu in China, only in North America, that's why North Americans are not welcome to Asia or Europe for the time being. I am also a big and long time fan of Andy and would appreciate it if you guys don't compare him to Jimmy or say that Jimmy is better. I am big fan of both of them and many stars and never want to say that anyone is better than the other. Andy does not just sing and act, he directs and produces movies and music too.

I am also scared that Jimmy will be like Andy in terms of his love life which I don't think is a good thing. It is true that their "private life" should be their business, but they are a public figure so people will know sooner or later. I think with Andy it is more complicated since he has had some "crazy" fans who are overly obsessive do really stupid things. Luckily, I have not seen any Jimmy fans like that and hope that they will not become like that and will support him no matter what. However, if it was revealed one day out of the blue that he was married with kids.... I honestly don't know what to say....

Has Jimmy held his concert tour yet?? I still remember the Good bye concerts he had before he left for the army.... So sad and that was my most favorite concert of his. The 93 concert he held in HK was also really nice...

It is ok and I have been a fan of stars for a long long time and Andy is one of my childhood idols and is still one of my favorites to this day. That is why I never overpraise one artist over another or think one is the very best overall.

I can say that I don't really like it that he has hid his lover for so many years and pray that Jimmy will not do that. But in Andy's case it is more complicated and understandable due to a number of his "crazy" and "obsessive" fans. I don't know if it is the "culture" of Hk to be single for their fans, it's just that a lot of his fans are crazy as you have heard.I hope that none of JImmy's fans will become like that or end up like that...

But I do hope that he will step out of the closet one day so that he can stop all of these rumours and speculations that may or may not be true....

Anyways, thanks for the news and hope that his tour will be a success. I was just watching some clips of Lollipop's group concert in HK held on July 6,2009 at the HK coliseum. I still remember when Jimmy held his in 1993... I really miss those days when he was really popular in HK. I have not seen him in a concert for a long long time and really miss it...

Star racer Jimmy Lin teared up before the CRC race at Fogang
On the day before the 2009 China Rally Championship (CRC) FoGang race all teams and racers are busy adjusting their cars. Sina Sports interviewed Jimmy Lin, the principal racer of Speedone in their garage. There is an eye-catching banner on his race car that reads “hearts and hands together, will prevail”. When we talked about the recent Taiwan typhoon and flood disaster he teared up several times.

Sina: Jimmy, you surveyed the roads today. How do they look?
Jimmy: This race course is very different from the one in Beijing. Even though they are both paved roads but they are very different. We thought we could use the same data from Beijing but after we got here everything changed. We have to re-adjust. We were practicing in Zhuhai International Circuit. The tracks are smooth and wide. FoGang is very different. We have to re-adjust all the equipments.

Sina: A lot of racers came back today and said the roads are very dangerous and easy to run off. What do you think?
Jimmy: I’ve not raced on this kind of roads before, very narrow, lots of sand and pebbles, lots of curves, like riding a roller-coaster in amusement parks. When I surveyed the roads I took very detailed notes: where not to slide, where not to cut, etc. I prepared more thoroughly.

Sina: The roads in Beijing are also paved roads. What are the differences?
Jimmy: After the race in Beijing I am very used to the EVO 10 now. Then we came to Zhuhai and made adjustments according to the race course in FoGang. My race car is in superb conditions and much faster.

Sina: Is your race car adjusted to a higher speed.
Jimmy: I was lucky in the Beijing race. Even after blowing a tire and losing 3 minutes I got 6th place among all Chinese racers (about 70). I wished at the time this car had more horsepower. This is a brand new car and the only one of its kind in the race. We didn’t have any real data. After 2 races our team gained more experience and we made some adjustments.

Sina: What is your goal for this race?
Jimmy: Speedone should be able to get better results. My goal is to get into the top 3 and earn more points for the team.

Sina: There are many car fans ouside your garage looking at you. Do you have anything to tell them?
Jimmy: It’s so hot today and I am happy that there are so many car fans to support us. It is so hot inside and outside the car. I want to thank everyone.

Sina:You have been racing for 12 years. What are your thoughts about the sports?
Jimmy: I used to compete against others, to win at all costs. For this I paid a heavy price: a crushed foot, accidents, race car bursting into flames, and tires spinning off. I’ve gained a lot of experience. In my craziest year I won 7 first places, 2 second and one third. But now I compete only with myself. I’ve fulfilled my dream and earned approval from the others. That’s the most important.

Sina: There is a new banner on your car. “hearts and hands together, will prevail”. Can you tell us more about the meaning.
Jimmy: In the recent typhoon and flood in Taiwan many people lost their homes. Our team will raise money. I put this banner on the car and hope people will help the Taiwan flood victims. (choking)

Sina: We know that you donated money for the Sichuan quake victims. A lot of Taiwanese also supported Sichuan. As a Taiwanese how do you see the help and support from China?
Jimmy: Taiwanese donated money and relief items to the Sichuan quake victims. I also participated. I just came back from Sichuan. Many Chinese friends gave what little they have to the Taiwan victims. I saw it myself. Some Sichuan orphans donated the small amount of money they have to Taiwan. I am very touched. We should all learn from them and give with a loving heart.

After surveying the roads yesterday they decided that the EVO 10 that jimmy is to drive is too wide for the roads. there r not enough parts for the EVO 10. Jimmy will drive Tam's EVO-9 and Tam will drive a Subaru. This is rarely done right b4 a race b/c racers take time to adapt to their cars. hope everything goes well for both jimmy and Tam.

I'm not sure whether the swine flu is still in china but it's very very bad in vietnam now. I'll try to persuade them again.

Trinie, I am a fans of Andy Lau & Jimmy too.
Yes, it is a must to be a single for pop idol stars in HK & Taiwan. It even stated in their contract, mostly for new idols. And they believe that to be a successful star, they have to remain single. But dun think Andy & Jimmy need a contract, since they have their own production company. Andy has lots of crazy fans, that's why he need to keep silent about his personal life. Same as Jimmy, till now, some of Jimmy's younger fans like to compare who is the most suitable gf for him, bla bla bla... why Jimmy likes her? why not the other one? bla bla bla....

Well, I believe we all grown up now, need to respect our dear idols.

I'm in Singapore. U're right, it's about the press conf he had in Shanghai. They featured about Jimmy's PTRS team too. And also mentioned that only Jimmy & another Korean actor are successful in both entertainment & car racing world. I forgot who is the Korean actor's name. Then they featured about some of Taiwan younger pop stars who try to follow Jimmy's path. I knew one of the stars, but I don't know what's his name. Hahaha...very hard for me to catch his chinese name. They've been practicing very hard in Taiwan car circuit. In taiwan, lots of singers/actors are crazy about cars.

I booked on the website given by Ladycoco. But have not paid yet . Coz I am planning to go to Bali for Dec holidays. And also feel that this is his repeat concert in Shanghai, to me, it's not a surprise. Will look into his next concert after Shanghai.
