Racing under the stars

On 23 October, Zhuhai International Circuit welcomed the FIA GT Championship (China Round), during this time, many top international drivers race to be the best in Zhuhai. But just before the GT race, Zhuhai International Circuit's resident Super Star Jimmy Lin held the inaugural "Jimmy Lin Celebrity Charity Cup". Anywhere that the celebrities visited, cameras flashed ceaselessly and crowds screamed wildly.




10 of the most popular Chinese celebrities descended at the Zhuhai International Circuit. With Jimmy Lin's full support the inaugural "Jimmy Lin - Traffic Safety Cup Celebrity Invitation Race" was full of stars. They conducted a sequence of visits and autograph sessions under the lead of Jimmy Lin. Maybe it is what they do everyday, but today they have changed the racing circuit into a performance stage.





Among all the celebrities, Sam Lee Can-Shum was the most active, taking pictures with a fan here and playing tricks behind another star's back there. He said, "I used to ride motorcycles only, this is my first time in a touring car race, it is new to me!"

Anya is the only female driver in the race among 9 male counterparts. Her appearance is a refreshing addition to the grid. She admits "I have only played racing games and so my only concern for the race is to protect myself."

The Celebrities race was run after the opening ceremony and the Drift Show. When Jimmy Lin brought the stars on to the track, the fans in the grandstand also "drifted" with them as they moved with the celebrities. Although the race was the main feature, all the fans' felt that seeing the stars was part and parcel of the deal. The stars ran a five lap race, which was won by Li Wei, with Xu Shao-Yang and Liu Zhi-Han finishing second and third.

With the entertainment element, the race's aim -- improving road safety awareness of the public became more convincing. Entertainment and racing, today Zhuhai International Circuit raced under many stars!

Here is his update.

Jimmy will be racing at the FIA Asia-Pacific Rally Championship @ ShaoGuan on the 26th of November. He arrived at ShaoGuan on the 20th of November.

This race will be an intense one, with Hong He determined to get the team championship. Currently Hong He is in the 3rd placing, with close scores behind the first two teams. To prepare for the race, all racers have arrived at ShaoGuan on the 20th to get into good shape. Jimmy will be representing Hong He, and will strive to achieve good results.

Ma, the man who trained Jimmy, said he has improved a lot, and at least he can complete a race now. In the past he has never completed a rally race before. Ma has been training Jimmy how to be stable, because only when one is stable can one be fast. For this race, Ma emphasized on stability for Jimmy.

At this station, Ma also said Jimmy started to have the desire to win. He told him that this is not wise, and he should treat this race as practice, and accumulate experience for improvement.

On November 2, Jimmy drove his FERRARI on ran-ai road in taipei to join a car-lovers' activity. The activity was held for car's fans, every car-lover could share their cars. Jimmy and Ambrose showed up at the event. (Special thanks to Seaky)
