some news about Jimmy at Fo Gang, from Nanning TV:

    http://www.56.com/u76/v_NDYxNzk5MTM.html
27/8, Preparation day. Jimmy talked about their team, consider the youngest team in this rally champhioship. Fans were waiting for him since morning or even yesterday!

    http://www.56.com/u89/v_NDYxODAwMTQ.html
28/8, opening ceremony, Jimmy as the main noise maker . Like a pro, explained about his car condition.

    http://www.56.com/u97/v_NDYxODAxMTA.html
29/8, interview with Jimmy, while waiting for race.

    http://www.56.com/u73/v_NDYxODAxNzQ.html
30/8, last day of rally. Jimmy still at FG. No much news about him . Just announcement of the final result.

    http://www.56.com/u40/v_NDYxODAzMTc.html
31/8, about yesterday race, Jimmy was waiting for his team mate to complete the race. He explained about his withdrawal, he's very cute at the end of the interview (He said, "thanks for supporting their team, though the result...(he pause for awhile & smile....) is just OK... but we had tried our best". Jimmy also talked about the new tagline on his car, fundraising for Taiwan typhoon victim.

Want to ask for your opinion, should i ask them to mail the ticket to me, or collect it in shanghai?
    My concern is:
    1. Ask them to mail the ticket: Not sure how good is their express mail, if lost in the mid of nowhere, i will cry, cry & cry....
    2. Collect ticket in Shanghai: Not sure how good is the ticketing company, afraid if there's black market, they will sell out my seat, then i will cry, cry & cry too....

Hmm...i think i rather wear superman t-shirt than Jimmy's , I don't want to look the same as his fans from china. I think 99% of them will wear same t-shirt. To me, his chinese fans are very scary, they can talk very loud even in his concert or racing. Maybe we can wear non white/red t-shirt? coz Jimmy's t-shirt is red/white. Easier to recognize. or we can meet somewhere before the concert.
YOU GUYS ARE DRIVING ME NUTS.
I can't, repeat CAN'T go to the shanghai concert. don't be so cruel.

i will have them mail the ticket to me if i were you. what if you can't find their office to pick up the ticket in shanghai. what if they have no record of your purchase. CRY CRY CRY... at least you still have 2.5 months to bug them if you don't get it in the mail.

so you can have your bank transfer money to them directly and take care of the exchange and all that?

    Argh. jimmy's hairy legs

of course the idols r afraid they'll lose most of their fans and thus $ if they go into the military for 1.5 yrs. but it's a matter of fairness. other young men have to give up 1.5 yrs of their lives for their countries too. so why these celebs have special priv. Korea is more strict with this. most korean celebs serve in the military no matter how famous they r.

vic zhou or jay zhou don't seem to suffer any bad consequences for draft dodging. they are as popular, if not more, as ever.

i agree that jimmy should've served earlier to get it over with. if he went when he's 25 and came out when he's 27 then it's too late to pick up his showbiz career or to start his racing career. so i think he made the right decision. he wouldn't be as successful today if he didn't serve.
Well if his vision is bad to the point that he would be blind without glasses or something, then I think that is acceptable. My mom was saying how your eyes are really important because imagine if you were in the battlefield and could not see anything. What if you accidently shot your own men?? I heard Alec Su's vision was that bad so they excused him. But hey, you are right, he could have done other stuff.

I totally agree about why celebrities get special priviledges compared to others?? I am glad that Korea is more strict about it too. Some of my former students that were from Korea have already served in the army for 2 years(they went back then when it was still 2 years) and I think they came back more mature.

I can't believe that Jay and Vic are not being criticized for dodging the draft...That is just so unfair... I am glad that Jimmy went because he learned a lot of things and is more mature than before. I think he also learned to be a more caring and compassionate person as well. Jimmy went when he was 20 years old so I would not say that that was too late. If he went earlier that would have been way too early and would have affected his popularity even more. I think him leaving in 1994 was just about right.... I am glad that it seemed to all work out for him, but he still had to struggle to get back into the circle. However, I feel that is normal and am really proud of him for all that he has been through....

I hope that you all have fun at the Shanghai concert. I wish that I can go but can't since I am broke and have other things to do. Remember to share pix and everything with us all...

Sorry ladycoco! This hug is for you.

I will wish upon a star tonight for Jimmy to also have a concert in Beijin around Christmas time just for you!

And one in Vietnam for kid1412, seekylinJVFC, and all the fans in Vietnam.

I can't describe my feelings now: dissapointed, angry...Maybe I'll never be able to see my idol in person.
Well, maybe I would have a chance to see him if he came to Vietnam. His concert tour is called The Whirlwind of Asia and actually he'll make a tour around asia, I hope.

That vietnamese forum is the only fansite of Jimmy in Vietnam so of course it's a large-scale site. But I must admit that it's quite hard for foreigner to find information. And are you serious when you said that you wanted to learn vietnamese?
kid1412, parents will always be parents. Don't give up, you just might be able to see Jimmy some other time.

Where in Vietnam are you located? I have relatives living in Ho Chi Minh city, so whenever I go to Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh city will always be one of my stop. My dad goes to Vietnam every other year and sometimes every year. No promise, but I will see if I can get some Jimmy stuff for you from Shanghai if you live in Ho Chi Minh city, ok?

I don't know how practical it is for me to learn Vietnamese as I don't hear people speak Vietnamese in my city. Beside, I can't speak Vietnamese. Maybe I should take one step at a time and learn Chinese first. But I am too old and lazy!!!! Have been out of school for so long, that I am out of practice of living a life of a student.

seekylinJVFC, do you live in Ho Chi Minh city?

Regarding the seat, actually u can call the ticketing officer & choose for the seat number. hmmm, I hope we can sit next to each other
Viv1010, if you bought ticket from 51piaozi, sure we can arrange the seating number. I have their email.
December Snow, if you need to email them, I cant forward the email to you.
Hi keroro33, congratulations for the purchase of your ticket! I agreed with ladycoco, I would rather like to have the ticket in my hands than to pick it up at the box office in Shanghai. I am still waiting for my friend to get back from her vacation!

I don't think my friend purchase the ticket from www.51piaozi.com. But, I will let you know as soon as I find out what my seat/row# is. Can you wait to put a hold on your seat/row#?

Here is a copy of the attachment on her email. If someone can make any sense out of it, please let me know! (I have the replaced the reservation# with "X"'s.) I tried calling the bottom Shanghai office phone#'s with my friend's Skype account, but apparently, I can't press the # options on the key pad to make selections to navigate through the automatic phone systems. So, I will have to purchase a phone card and try again.

I agreed with you about wearing the same t-shirt. I think it will be tacky. However, I don't have a color preference yet. I really think we should meet before the concert and maybe even go shopping for Jimmy souvenirs together!

thanks viv1010. i am fine. i am saving the best for last. i am sure jimmy will tour other cities, and of course beijing is on the list. and of course it'll fit into my winter break or even next summer vacation.

Besides, u guys figure out the ticket system then i can have it easy.

LOL. i think those r the hairiest legs i have seen on asian men. of course, white guys r hairier. maybe that's why jimmy doesn't wear shorts that often.

BTW, my dad's mandarin is scary. my mom always makes fun of his mandarin. i don't think he can call china and talk to the ticket office. no one will be able to understand him. what if he bought tickets for JJ Lin's concert instead of Jimmy Lin's.

i hope the concert in shanghai is a sellout so the sponsor or whoever will make a lot of money. then there will be more concerts.

There is a chance that Jimmy would hold concerts in China, but not sure about Vietnam since he honestly does not seem to be popular there anymore. A lot of Taiwanese have been to Vietnam recently, but they are new idols that are still popular. However, there is still a chance that Jimmy may come to Vietnam one day...

Finally got through to the Shanghai# and confirmed that my spot is in red section:
    row#11, seat#3

That is not close enough!!!! I thought I could get to be in row 7 or something like that! Also, according to the map, wouldn't #3 be on the side instead of the center? And which side would that be in, the left or the right?

    http://www.culture.sh.cn/English/product.asp?id=6621

Sorry, I will calm down now and just be thankful that I get to go!

I had a really bad day at work today. My work computer crashed to the point where the company "Help Desk" aka "No Help Desk" decided to order a "new" computer for me. But, it won't arrive until Friday! So, tomorrow I will have to work with a half functioning computer. And "new" does not mean it is brand new, just a refurbished one that sometimes takes more time to set it up, and they might not have installed all the programs I needed to do my job. Which means more phone time with "No Help Desk"!

I'm sorry Ladycoco, didn't mean to upset u. I'm pretty sure that Jimmy will have another concert in Beijing. I will go there too if I still have $$.

Ladycoco & Viv1010, thanks for your advice. I asked them to mail the ticket to me .

Yup, i did a telegraphic transfer to their account. The bank here take care of the exchange rate & fee, i paid S$323.29 in total.
Thanks to you for the website, the sales person is very helpful. At first, the bank here asked for account name's identification no. Then I called piaozi.com, and I totally forgot how to say 'Identification no.' in chinese . I had been struggling & playing guessing game with them.... coz I only remember chinese words for passport, deposit, account no. They can't understand 'Identification number'. But they knew that I was asking for a number. They said lots of words in chinese for me to guess; telephone number, passport no. , mobile no; account no; and the last one was identification no., and suddenly I remember! yeah, that's what I need!

Ladycoco, don't worry, I can guide you with the ticket ordering for Beijing concert. I can write simple chinese .

I don't know. I hope that I am hearing it wrong. I am going to send another email to my friend and see if she can confirm it for me or better yet, change the row and seat #'s for me. Cuz' I rather want to be in row 7 or 8 and not 11! Please wish me luck!

no harm done. we have nothing to talk about (but his legs) till he appears in public again. we r not doing him bodily harm... at least we r not mobbing his race car, forcing him to climb on the roof, cornering him in his steaming hot race car for an hr, or chasing after his car DURING a race.

REALLY? THANKS THANKS THANKS...A MILLION THANKS. Yeah I do live in Ho Chi Minh city. Are you planning to go to Vietnam this yr so we can meet each other?. Please don't ask me what I want because I'm very greedy especially the stuff about Jimmy. Whatever you can get at the concert is ok.

So there're 3 members here are going to Shanghai: Vivi1010, Keroro33 and December_snow, right? Will you sit together at the concert?

I don't think Jimmy is not popular in Vietnam. If you carry out a survey of Jimmy's famousness in Vietnam, I'm sure that 80% of vietnamese people know who he is or they have watched one of his movies/series before especially MLS. His fans in Vietnam are fervour and crazy. We've also prepared a gift for his birthday. Let's see what will happen on FM radio of china on 15th Oct this yr.
