Jimmy attended a TechnoMarine (a sports wrist watch brand) party. He drove his Hummer there. When he saw the limited edition XS Magnum Square Hummer, a watch released in collaboration of TechnoMarine and Hummer, he decided to buy it. There are only 88 of its edition in Taiwan. He said, as he owns 2 Hummers, he felt in love with the watch at the sight of it.

Jimmy also revealed that he collects sports watches, owning 20 of them. They include TechnoMarine watches, Moto Gp (500 of its edition worldwide), and the most special watch of all, the ORIS watch given to him by Ralf Schumacher.

Upcoming Activity

In light of the coming Chinese New Year celebrations, to publicise the message against drink-driving in Taipei, Traffic Safety Ambassador Jimmy Lin recorded a song against drink-driving with Lin Chih-Ying (Chief of the Taipei Bureau of Transportation) as publicity material. Pamphlets bearing the message against drink-driving will also be given out with the Jimmy doll icon on them.

Jimmy wants to release new songs, approaches Lin Chih-Ying first for help

Car-racing-loving artiste Jimmy Lin is going to release new songs. As the lyrics had to do with traffic safety, Jimmy approached the Chief of the Taipei Bureau of Transportation, Lin Chih-Ying (different “Ying” 盈), and hoped he could give some opinion. Lin Chih-Ying also did not discount the idea of using Jimmy as the Taipei Traffic Safety Publicity spokesman in future.

Jimmy Lin is one of the few speed-loving artistes around, but he enjoys speed not by car speeding, but by taking part in various international big car-racing events. As Jimmy’s father was close to Taipei City Councilwoman Li-Keng Kuei-fang, through her introduction, two years ago Jimmy got to know Lin Chih-Ying.

Lin Chih-Ying said, due to similarity to Jimmy’s name, his home’s answering machine has received 30 over birthday wishes calls from Jimmy fans. After getting to know Jimmy, Lin Chih-Ying felt this young man was not bad; Jimmy has enthusiastically taken part in various commercials and activities to do with publicizing traffic safety.

He said, as Jimmy recently wanted to release an album called “Please show me your driving licence”, and the lyrics include discouraging drink driving and other traffic safety messages, thus Jimmy came to see him. He will obligingly give his opinion, and will not discount the idea of using Jimmy as the Taipei Traffic Safety Publicity spokesman in future.

Jimmy is among Zhang Zhong Ji's (director of TLBB) choices of actors for a trailer for the Yahoo Search Engine, China. The other contenders are Hu Jun, Wang Xiao Ming and Lee Ya Peng.

Also, Jimmy will be filming Xia Yu Shun's lifestory in the series "Love to the ends of the earth" in September, on voluntary basis (meaning not paid).
