Jimmy Lin talks about being a father; have to report bed scenes to wife ahead of time

Jimmy Lin, Dylan Kuo, and Zhao Liang appeared on Hunan TV “快乐大本营” to promote the new series Single Princess and Blind Dates. Even though the new father can still dazzle girls in idol series he shows his fatherly love when talking about his son. His net worth is reported to be over 1B rmb but he regrets that he can’t spend more time with his son. His wife will be a stay-home mom while he supports the family.

As the 1st generation of idols Jimmy captured the hearts of girls with his handsome face. Time hasn’t made its marks on his babyface but the birth of his son proved that the “Little Whirlwind” has grown up. He used to evade questions about his love life but now he talks openly about his son. “Now I talk to him daily via webcam. He’s excited to see me.” Jimmy smiled and said he has changed a lot since becoming a father. “I used to do whatever I pleased and not worrying too much. But now with a sweet burden I have a responsibility. As long as I can see his smile everything is worth it. After becoming a father I stay home more. I don’t go out for nothing. Just to hold him and watch him falls asleep is my best satisfaction.” Even though he still looks childish but Jimmy said he is good at changing diapers and bathing the baby and is a super dad.

Even though he’s now a father he still flavors idol series. Jimmy laughed and said he tried hard to look for other roles. “In fact maturity is not measured by one’s appearance. It’s innate. I want to expand my roles but all the scripts offered me are of the same genre. I want to try out as cops or special agents.”

Jimmy and his wife Kelly kept their relationship under wraps in order not to offend the fans. It is rumored recently that they got married last month. Jimmy laughed and said, “How could it be? We got married last year, before the birth of our son. I didn’t want my son’s birth certificate to have a blank for a father.”

Kelly gave up her modeling career for the family. Jimmy said he’s a very traditional man. “We love our son so much. We can’t leave him alone at home. She is now a stay-home mom.” He’ll always report to her ahead of time when he has to film bed scenes. “She will understand.”

The Taiwan media called him CEO Lin. Besides showbiz he also owns businesses in IT and racing. In 2007 his net worth was reported to be over 1B rmb. He avoided all questions about this but said he’ll work hard to set an example for his son. “I feel that I must work even harder now so I set a good example for him later on.”

Yup another lie exposed. LOL...why he didn't report it all together with the birth of child during the press con confuses me. But it isn't a surprise since he says he is a traditional guy. My guess is that they signed the marriage license in LA.

Thanks for the news Ladycoco, but I am now even more digusted with him. I can't believe that he had the nerve to lie again and again... Doesn't he have any shame or consideration for the fans or anyone?? I actually did not want to come here anymore but heard this on wikipedia so decided to come and check it out. Why didn't he just reveal it along with the other news from before?? I find that was a stupid move on his part... Oh well, it's not like I care anymore.. It's not like that he is that great anyways... I do hope that other artists that I like do not do this or else I will lose respect for them as well... I am glad that Leehom did not do that.. He is way more talented and popular but wasn't afraid to reveal that he is dating someone. Jimmy should have learned from him.

It's common in the entertainment world wat. Look at Andy Lau. Made his Malaysian girlfriend Carol Chu wait for him for 24 years and only married her to fulfill her dad's dying wish. Jackie Chan also didn't admit to marrying Lin Fengjiao and having a son (Jaycee) with her until Jaycee was in his teens.

You have a point, but I still think that you should be honest with your fans because sooner or later the truth will come out. Once it does, what will you do?? If you are talking about dating, Jimmy lied about that as well... He was even caught with that Kelly girl a few times but still lied to his teeth. About Andy, not sure if he only married her to fulfill her dying father's wish. I am sure there is more to it than that and we can only guess and speculate.

In Jimmy's case, he already had a baby so why hide the fact that he was married? Having a baby is a bigger bombshell(which did not happen in Andy's case and I think Andy's case is more understandable since he had some really crazy fans that would just hit the wall if he announced his marriage so his is more understandable), so if you were ready to review that, then why not review that you also got married as well? What more do you have to lose? Also, Jimmy is not that popular anymore so I don't think he needs to worry about any fans being unhappy about him getting married or not. Don't tell me he still thinks so highly of himself that he has to hide the fact that he got married just to please the fans. I am sure that a big number of his fans (or former fans anyways) no longer care...Therefore, for him to continue to lie like that will not do him any good at all..In fact, it will just hurt his image more. BUt hey, it's like he gives a care since he already cashed in a lot from fan's support all these years..

Calm down Trinie! No need to be so upset over this piece of news.

I do agree with you that I think JL should have announced his marriage along with the birth of his son at the same time. It was hard enough for fans received the baby birth bombshell, and to have this impression that xxz was born out of wetlock was even harder. After all the Asian culture is more conservative in this matter.

If fans knew the child was born legit, at least it would clear the image of Kelly being a **** and Jimmy being a player. I know I have used 2 very harsh words, but I am sure this was on a lot of people's mind when he only announced the birth but lied about the marriage.

Well, for Jackie Chan, one of his fans committed suicide upon hearing that he may have married, and another fan attempted suicide but was saved. So he kept marriage and son secret for many years in respect of that dead fan.

I don't think Jimmy has such fanatic fans. No reason for him to keep such a secret. He just wanted to cling on to his fading bachelorhood and youth instead of growing up gracefully.

I'll just put in my 2c. Forget about the old schools like Jackie Chan or Andy Lau. Just look at the current batch of hot actors/idols from HK/Taiwan. Aaron Kwok (age 44) single with no gf that he openly admits. Takeshi Kaneshiro (age 37) rumored to have a japanese wife but never admits to it. Alec su (age 37) single, may have a gf. Wu Chun (age 30) no gf. Jay zhou (age 30 ) no gf. Show Lo (age 31) no gf.

isn't it odd that all these 30 somethings are still single and unattached. they all proclaim not to be gay and talk about what they want to be their ideal gf.

I think it's the chinese culture. American fans don't care who DiCapio or Orlando Bloom dates or marries. we don't want to marry them. But chinese fans DO want to marry Show Lo, Wu Chun, or ... So as long as they are single there's still a snowball chance in hell to be Mrs Lo or Mrs Wu. And then there are the managers and agencies behind them who'll maintain that 'single still available' facade at all cost.

BTW, i read that Show Lo actually calls his fans 'wives'. No comment.

Interesting that you said this. In the Single Princess press conf 2 days ago in china he talked about such an incident. A fan who worked as an extra on the set came up to him in the middle of shooting and grabbed and embraced him at the waist for several mins. Everyone on the set froze and didn't know if it was an added scene or what. Jimmy himself didn't react because the camera was still rolling. Then the director yelled "What's going on" and the workers came up and pulled the girl off Jimmy. crazy, huh.

BTW, ppl, just calm down. we r here to have fun. we follow jimmy's news and watch his series b/c we enjoy it. he's not my role model. I'm glad that he and kelly r married and xxz grows up in a loving family with mom and dad.

i know showbiz is hell. u make tons of money but have to sell your soul, satisfying the fans, the producers, the big bosses who have the final say. we heard about newbies who have to sleep with directors in order to get roles in movies. so maybe one of these days JL will just quit and go live his own life.

Sounds like she was an attention seeker. Doesn't mean she was in love crazy for him. I do think women are a lot more rationale these days with better education, wider range of cute actor/singer choices. Jackie in the old days was singular and unique and women were a lot more parochial. Now there are many talents out there to choose from.

Hence if you are married, just say you are married.
