I seriously doubt he can wait that long. Look at the way he tries to interest Kimi in cars cars cars and cars. Most F1 racers started racing b4 they were even old enough to get their driver's license. They start go-karting at like 8/9. Lewis Hamilton started at 8 and already signed with the McLaren young driver program at 13. Of course, he's an exception. Hamilton won his first F1 championship title at 23. and that's why Jimmy is destined never able to enter the rank of F1 because he started too 'old', at 23. so i can see he'll try to get kimi to fulfill his own dream. kimi is almost 2. In 6 yrs we'll see a little Kimi go-karting.

I totally agreed with you ladycoco. Jimmy will definately start training Kimi very very young cos he wants Kimi to fulfill his dream to be a F1 racer. Hope his dream will come true. BTW, i really love Kimi's Ferarri F430. Im so tempted to buy one for my son.. hehehe...

Jimmy is in shanghai today (2011-06-14) promoting the Swiss Certina DS Podium GMT watches. Certina is the sponsor of the F1 BMW Sauber team, so it's logical for them to get Jimmy to be the new spokesman of their new line of watches.

You're always so great at posting the links to Jimmy's videos so quickly. I was just going to post it, but you already got it covered. I love how he said words he says the most in a day is "Bu Xing" aka "NO" to his kid. I find myself doing that a lot with my niece and nephew all the time. It is great to see him back at work again.

any doubt that jimmy is going to turn kimi into a racer he posted this today...Kimi driving a Porsche, no less.



He said in this interview he's giving up rally racing (but not formula) for his family and will turn to coaching. i bet he'll coach one and only one student. Sad to see that he's leaving rally, no more Speedone. His next race will the International Le Mans Cup in Nov 2011.

After mourning the sudden death of his father, Jimmy Lin has returned to the public eye. He appeared at the product endorsement party of the Swiss Certina new line of sports watches in Shanghai. He dressed casual and wore his trademark smile. In the interview afterward Jimmy disclosed that he is returning to showbiz and will give up his beloved racing for his family.

His son Kimi inherited his acting genes and will dance to music nonstop. Kimi also loves cars. The Lin’s family living room is parked with cars large and small. “Kimi’s car is a mini Ferrari. He sits in it every morning after he gets up. I tell him to shift gears and he will shift.”

Besides being an artist, Jimmy is also a professional race car driver. In 10 plus years he competed in all categories of professional races and won many trophies. But since becoming a father he is thinking of going behind the scenes and becoming a coach. “I am still training but have reduced the number of races I enter. Racing is hazardous and I don’t want to worry my family. I will put time into showbiz instead. My schedule is very busy this year. There are the movies Speed Angel and If I Were You and the series Rainbow Sweetheart to promote. And the next album is still in planning.”

glad that he is not racing so much anymore. Don't worry, coco, I'm sure he will show up in most of the speedone races as owner/coach/support!

also very happy that Jimmy starts to live life again. hope he will always be happy and be the sunshine boy that he was....

I didn't know that they have go-cart races in Taiwan.....maybe the Lin family have to move over to the States!
