Hi! Yep! I'm from the Philippines. I have watched almost all of Jimmy's movies and TV series except for Ang Yee and Secretly In Love with You. His series and movies are part of my collection. I have his albums too including the recent one but I don't have Li Ming Po Xiao Qian. Where are you from?

I'm also from the U.S. I was introduced to him by my friend back around 1992 or 1993 since she was really into him. I thought he was cute but i wasn't really into him at the time. I also wasn't really exposed to him that much at the time. But then many years later i saw him in the remake of Legendary Siblings with Alec Su when i was browsing in this one store. They happened to be playing it on their tv. I was really surprised to see it was Jimmy since he didn't do tv series back then. It motivated me to rent Legendary Siblings and ever since then i truly became a Jimmy fan. I've seen most of his series except for a couple. I also own several of his CDs (Before Dawn Breaks, Scarecrow, and Go for a Walk) and i'm still waiting to receive his latest CD, Jimmy F1ght 2006. What i really like about Jimmy is how friendly and approachable he looks. He always has the nicest smile.

Jimmy is indeed friendly and very approachable. I meet him in Taipei when I went there in 1996 for a study/tour program. His manager didn't want us to meet him coz they were in a hurry to leave but Jimmy was so kind that he spent a few minutes with us for photo op and autograph signing. I was lucky to get one of his album covers signed. He looked happy to see me own a copy of his album. Actually I have all of them except for Before Dawn Breaks. I can't find that album on sale anymore. Anyway, I still havne't watched Liao Zhai as I'm currently away from home.

    You are so lucky

    http://yule.sohu.com/20060825/n244999384.shtml

On August 25 morning at 9.30 Jimmy attended Xuhui's charity activity in China, Jimmy is "Xuhui traffic ambassador".
Jimmy also helped to direct the traffic, what a pity because of his appearance, it caused traffic jam.
Jimmy also sang a traffic campaign song, this caused a lot of people surrounding, his fans also arrived and supported him.
After finished singing, Jimmy had received the appointment letter from the hands of the real traffic police, and become "the traffic control member".
Jimmy not only helped the disabled old mother to push the wheelchair, but also helped the children crossed the street.

I just finished watching 'Po Lien Lantern' that was produced in 2000. I really like it. Jimmy looks young then, but he was good as the boy who saved his mother under Hua Shan. I like his acting. The story about going back and forth in time is borrowed from Michael J Fox's 'Back To the Future', but it is entertaining and done well. I couldn't put it down and didn't use the 'fast forward' button much.

I know I am late in the game. Has everyone else seen it? Is it a Taiwanese production?

Yes, I like Bao Lian Deng too, it is a very interesting series.
Jimmy, Echo, and Vivi were so cute in this series.
Jimmy really convinced the character of Chen Xiang. He was so adorable.
The theme song is very nice as well, Jimmy sang it.
You can watch its MV of Bu Xi De Deng here.

I guess it was Taiwanese production, many stars in this series were Taiwanese.

I've also seen Po lien Lantern. It's been a while since i've seen that series but i remember enjoying watching it. I like the chemistry between Jimmy and Shen Ao Jun (aka Echo). I thought they were cute together. Anyway, i thought it was a mainland China series. Maybe not. Are any of Jimmy's series Taiwanese? For some reason, i thought they were all mainland China. Now i'm kinda interested in rewatching it. Unfortunately, i don't think i can easily do that.

I'm close to finishing up Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils right now. And then i'm hoping to watch Liao Zhai. I'm also interested in watching Jimmy's movie with Liu Yi Fei, I Love How You Love Me. But i can't find it with English subtitles. Does anyone know where i can watch it with subtitles? Has anyone else here seen this movie?

I agree. I like Bao Lian Deng's theme song too. I also like the theme song for Jimmy's Lu Xiao Feng series, "Wo Bu Hou Hui."

I really enjoyed Bao Lian Deng too! The love story between Jimmy and Echo was very cute, though I found that at times Echo looked kinda old with Jimmy. I also loved the Bu xi de deng song. I believe it was a Taiwan series. Actually a number of Jimmy's series are Taiwan, I just forget which ones off the top of my head.

I just watched the Thai show.. thanks so much Relive! Wow, I almost forgot how Jimmy was when he was younger.. 19 is quite young now that I think about it. Hehe, he's really cute with his signature smile. And boy can he dance!

Beanybeans, you are my IT guru. How do you quote 2 different messages in one reply? WOW!

Let me get this right. Is Echo the girl Jimmy married at the end and Vivi the cute girl who liked Jimmy? I don't know Pin Ying and don't know how to spell their names.

Vivi did a good job as a cute little girl. A lot of actresses try to act cute but then end up being annoying, like Chong Ling in TLBB 03.

The actor who played Jimmy's father was good too. He played 2 very diverse roles, the drunkard and the scholar. When he first appeared as the scholar I was shocked. Is this the same guy? That scene where he picked up trash by the roadside and ate it... GROSS but very convincing. Then Jimmy embraced him and cried.

Jimmy's costume is kind of weird. Is that s straw hat that he is wearing?

So how do you like Demi-Gods? I think Jimmy is very convincing as Duan Yu and he can act.

I ordered Liao Zhai and 'I Love How You Love Me'. I will let you know how they are. yesasis.com is SO SLOWWWWWWWW.

BTW, is it Jimmy's real voice in Bao Lien Deng? It doesn't sound like him. How come he doesn't do the voice? I don't think it is his voice in Demi-Gods either.

Oh, ladycoco, you are too kind. I am no where near being an IT guru. But thanks, anyway. Actually, believe it or not, that response of mine was the first time i've ever quoted multiple people. I just decided to experiment with a little cutting and pasting. If you notice that when you click on the quote button, it automatically copies the message you're replying to. And you'll also notice that there are certain bracketed html commands at the beginning and at the end of the quote. As long as you put the commands in correctly, it'll automatically convert it over to those quote boxes you see in a lot of messages.

And yes, Echo is the same girl that Jimmy married at the end whereas Vivi is the girl who has a crush on him from the beginning. To tell you the truth i first knew of Echo as Shen Ao Jun from this other website of Jimmy's. I never knew her American name was Echo until a little while later. I'm actually Vietnamese so i definitely don't know pin ying. I have to continuously pick all this info up along the way.

And yeah, that's Roger Kwok playing a deadbeat bum as well as the young and charming dad who woos Jimmy's mother and wins her heart. That was actually another reason why i wanted to watch Bao Lian Deng. I've always liked Roger Kwok ever since i saw him in TVB's Mystery of the Twin Swords with Dicky Cheung which is a series from 1991. I think there was a slight lapse in him doing tv series and then all of a sudden i saw him in this (and especially since it was a non-TVB series) so i was intrigued.

I thought Jimmy's costume was kinda weird too. But at least he still had the long ancient hair look. On the other hand, i didn't really like his look too much in Jue Shi Shuang Jiao (the Legendary Siblings sequel with Tae). I prefer the longer hair look when it comes to ancient series. I didn't like his little hat in that one either. I think i prefer the Bao Lian Deng straw hat more.

By the way, since I'm Vietnamese, i basically have to watch all of these series dubbed in Viet. So i'm not exactly sure who Chong Ling from Tian Long Ba Bu is. Is that the girl that Jimmy first meets when Duan Yu first appears in the series? You know, the girl with the funky hair (the two pig-tails)? I don't really remember that girl's character name but i do kinda remember everyone else's Viet-equivalent name and it doesn't sound like any of them would be Chong Ling.

I am definitely enjoying watching TLBB. I haven't seen any remakes of this series. I've only watched the one from the early 80s. I don't even remember if i ever watched the whole thing since i was pretty young at the time. I think i was more of a Return of the Condor Heroes fan at the time because of Andy Lau. Anyway, i don't really know what Duan Yu's character is essentially supposed to be like but if he's supposed to be this really wide cheeky smile kind of guy who has a very kind heart and is willing to help whomever, then i think Jimmy plays him well. Sometimes i think Jimmy kinda overexaggerates his facial expressions depending on the character he's supposed to play, but i think he's a lot more natural-looking in this one.

You know, i had a similar question about the whole Jimmy voice thing. Even though i have to listen to a dubbed Viet voice for the most part anyway, i was still curious. I had asked whether or not they use his real voice for any of his series. Why do they have to dub over him? I'm waiting for Liao Zhai to come from YesAsia too and since i'll be watching this series with English subtitles, i wanted to be able to hear Jimmy's real voice. And i wish they would really stop pushing the ship out date. It's been quite prolonged now. Such a bummer too since i had ordered it together with Jimmy's latest cd. Everything has to be shipped together so because of that i haven't received his cd yet.

So did you get the I Love How You Love Me movie from YesAsia too? Does it have English subtitles? At times like these, i wish i would motivate myself more to go take a class and learn Mandarin or Cantonese.
