Relive, you're too funny. I'm glad you're entertained. Though i do have to admit that i usually am a silent reader when it comes to these forums. I remember you had mentioned that this forum had been somewhat silent most likely due to silent readers. I definitely raised my hand quietly in the back after reading that. I mean you can pretty much tell by the number of posts i've posted since becoming a member of this forum back in May 2003. I just recently upgraded from Junior Member to Member. Most of it was due to silent reading but also because i basically took about a year off from visiting this forum in general.

By the way, is Zhong Ling the name of the character or the actress? At least i had guessed the right girl.

And yeah, that's Roger Kwok playing a deadbeat bum as well as the young and charming dad who woos Jimmy's mother and wins her heart. That was actually another reason why i wanted to watch Bao Lian Deng. I've always liked Roger Kwok ever since i saw him in TVB's Mystery of the Twin Swords with Dicky Cheung which is a series from 1991. I think there was a slight lapse in him doing tv series and then all of a sudden i saw him in this (and especially since it was a non-TVB series) so i was intrigued.

By the way, since I'm Vietnamese, i basically have to watch all of these series dubbed in Viet. So i'm not exactly sure who Chong Ling from Tian Long Ba Bu is. Is that the girl that Jimmy first meets when Duan Yu first appears in the series? You know, the girl with the funky hair (the two pig-tails)? I don't really remember that girl's character name but i do kinda remember everyone else's Viet-equivalent name and it doesn't sound like any of them would be Chong Ling.

I am definitely enjoying watching TLBB. I haven't seen any remakes of this series. I've only watched the one from the early 80s. I don't even remember if i ever watched the whole thing since i was pretty young at the time. I think i was more of a Return of the Condor Heroes fan at the time because of Andy Lau. Anyway, i don't really know what Duan Yu's character is essentially supposed to be like but if he's supposed to be this really wide cheeky smile kind of guy who has a very kind heart and is willing to help whomever, then i think Jimmy plays him well. Sometimes i think Jimmy kinda overexaggerates his facial expressions depending on the character he's supposed to play, but i think he's a lot more natural-looking in this one.

You know, i had a similar question about the whole Jimmy voice thing. Even though i have to listen to a dubbed Viet voice for the most part anyway, i was still curious. I had asked whether or not they use his real voice for any of his series. Why do they have to dub over him? I'm waiting for Liao Zhai to come from YesAsia too and since i'll be watching this series with English subtitles, i wanted to be able to hear Jimmy's real voice. And i wish they would really stop pushing the ship out date. It's been quite prolonged now. Such a bummer too since i had ordered it together with Jimmy's latest cd. Everything has to be shipped together so because of that i haven't received his cd yet.

So did you get the I Love How You Love Me movie from YesAsia too? Does it have English subtitles? At times like these, i wish i would motivate myself more to go take a class and learn Mandarin or Cantonese.

I am also waiting for Liao Zhai from yesasia.com. Now it is Sept 1. I hope they don't push it back again. I ordered I Love How You Love Me from yesasia.com with free shipping, and it takes forever. Next time I will just pay the extra shipping charge. I think Jimmy and Liu Yi Fei make a cute couple so I bought this movie.

In TLBB 03, the girl with the 2 long funky pigtail is Chong Ling. I also watched the first TLBB that was made in the 80s. I have little memory of it now. I remember the actor who played Duan Yu wasn't that cute. I never watched the 97 remake of it. In the book, DY is a carefree, happy-go-lucky character. He likes to help people without considering his limited ability. He is childish around his parents. He likes to stick his tongue out. I am glad that the director didn't make Jimmy do that or it would be weird. When I first read the book, i wondered if any 19 yr old would act like DY in real life. I mean the way he acted around WYY, smiling like an idiot and following her around like a love-sick puppy. Jimmy did have a few overexaggerated expressions in TLBB especially around the 3rd bad guy, but most of the time he was okay. I especailly like the scenes of DY and his half-sister in the stone hut after they were fed sex potion. He was also good in the scenes where he first met Ah Chu in her house on the lake. He sampled the food she prepared and enjoyed himself even though he was still a captive. I only watched 2 of his series so I can't say much about the other series.

I just checked out the YesAsia site and i remember why i didn't also buy I Love How You Love Me and it was because it's not subtitled in English and plus the dvd is in the PAL format. Such a bummer. I think that Jimmy and Liu Yi Fei make a cute couple too. Come to think of it, i also really like Theresa Lee with Jimmy. I thought they were cute and goofy in the Legendary Siblings. I thought her hair was really cute and so were her red outfits. Anyway, i wish all Chinese movies came with English subtitles. Maybe if i'm lucky enough, i'll run into that version of I Love How You Love Me some day and be able to watch it.

I just finished watching 'Po Lien Lantern' that was produced in 2000. I really like it. Jimmy looks young then, but he was good as the boy who saved his mother under Hua Shan. I like his acting. The story about going back and forth in time is borrowed from Michael J Fox's 'Back To the Future', but it is entertaining and done well. I couldn't put it down and didn't use the 'fast forward' button much.

I know I am late in the game. Has everyone else seen it? Is it a Taiwanese production?

I have seen that and loved it too. Glad to know that you enjoyed the series. It's China production. Jimmy's series are all China porduction while his movies are HK production.
