Default Yip Goo Hung from LSF: Vol. 5

While he was on the run from Sai Mun Chui Sheut in LUK SIU FUNG, Vol. 5 (THE HAUNTED VALLEY), Luk Siu Fung encountered a young man by the name of Yip Goo Hung, who was the younger cousin of the Sword God Yip Goo Sing. Yip Goo Hung was a Sai Mun Chui Sheut-wannabe. He dressed and acted like Sai Mun Chui Sheut, and his goal was to become a better swordsman than Sai Mun Chui Sheut and kill him. Yip Goo Hung eventually committed suicide in despair after being easily defeated by Luk Siu Fung, who himself believed that he could not last one move against Sai Mun Chui Sheut. Yip Goo Hung knew that if even Luk Siu Fung couldn't defeat Sai Mun Chui Sheut, then he (Yip Goo Hung) had no hope at all.

Question: why did Yip Goo Hung choose to impersonate Sai Mun Chui Sheut and not his famous cousin, Yip Goo Sing? Logic would seem to dictate that Yip Goo Hung would idolize and imitate his own cousin, not the man who killed him.

Maybe he wanted to humilate Sai Mun Chui Sheut, something like he could be a better Sai Mun Chui Sheut than even Sai Mun Chui Sheut.....maybe
All that's needed to say have been said, why say anything more? The man is drunk, why stay any longer?....

Er... possibly it might have something to do with the fact that Yip Goo Sing lost the Duel.

No, not really. Ye Guhong, being the cousin of Ye Gucheng, probably grew up living in the shadow of the famous Lord of White Cloud City. Ye Guhong himself was a very proud young man, and it would only be logical that he was not content with this. Maybe deep down inside, Ye Guhong was grateful of Ximen for killing his cousin. Without Ye Gucheng, Guhong can establish himself as a true swordsman.

Everybody would expect him to be like Ye Gucheng, and that's why he deliberately imitate Ximen Chuixue. It's just the rebellious nature of young people.

Just because Ye GuCheng was his relative doesn't mean that Ye GuHong has to look up to him or idolize him. He probably thought XiMen ChuiXue was a better swordsman and a better person, which he is. (Sorry, I just really don't like Ye GuCheng).

According to LXF, on the exterior, both YGC and SMCX acted and dressed identically and had the same aura.

So impersonating SMCX is also the same as copying YGC.
