i hate their team period, my friend said he wished richard would drive st.louis and khabibulan to the rink but their car runs into a ditch and catch up in flames, or they drive in an empty parking lot and crash into a whole lot of lamp post and all go unconcious while thier care catch up in flames. muhahaahaha and this could probably the only time we see a canadian team win a cup some time in these next 50 yrs or so cause the states got da money. those rich bastards

We will see a Canadian team win and it wouldn't take 50 years. As long as there is Canadian playing this sport there will be a Stanley Cup in Canada.

As for rich fanchise. Maples Leafs is rank one of the richest in NHL. Beside when it comes to playoff time... you really need a hot goalie and it doesn't have to be a big name player... they just got to be in the zone during these times.

As for Gelinas' goal(or shot), it all depends on the angle, which is a tough call. at one angle it was behind the line... while on another angle it was on the line. It was a tough call... but result in a very exciting team.


There is still one game left Have some faith in the Flames Who would of thought that they would make it all the way to the cup? They can still do it

yeah, i can't believe that our team lost.....can't believe that i'm referring the Flames as our team... hey i'm canadian what can i say.

I hope we win game 7 *crossing my fingers and toes* It would have been fun to win this game.... lots of people from Edmonton went down there thinking that they would celebrate a stanley cup victory.

why is regehr playing for team canada when he was born in Brazil? thought i ask.

my gosh game day tomorrow. i wish i can watch. but then i hope no overtime. i want calgary to beat them in regulation time!

i think its because regehr was raised in canada and have a canadian citizenship, so he can play for team canada. but then u look at brett hull and adam deadmarsh, they were born and raise in canada but play for US, so i guess all u need is their citizenship.
it looks like gelinas *shot* the puck into the net from the angle ABC have, but the puck was in mid air so it mite not have cross the line. it was a close call tho, dats for sure.
this has become a very entertaining series, i was cheering for the flames but the lightning really impress me. so im no longer cheering for either, may the best team wins.

ps, sutter is such a prick when hes doing interview. there is no need for sacarsam when a reporter ask him a simple question, the questions arent the greatest but they HAVE TO ask them, so y cant sutter just answer them straight up?

So what? I am sure that Regehr is a Canadian citizen, he has all the right to represent Canada. The birthplace does not always determine the citizenship. Let's say your father was working oversea in Lebanon and your mother joined him. She was pregnant and gave birth to you over there. Would that make you a Lebanese? I think not. Dany Heatly was born in Germany because his father was playing hockey over there. Does he has German citizenship? I doubt it. Germany doesn't grant automatic citizenship just because someone is born in Germany. You have to prove that you have German blood. Different countries have different laws. I was born in Vietnam and my parents were Vietnamese, but I now live in Canada and I am a citizen of Canada. If I was good in a sport and would represent my country which is Canada, I sure hope that nobody would question my representation just because of my birthplace.

Hull and Deadmarsh have dual citizenship; both have American mothers. Don't be surprise if Gretzky's kids play for the USA if they ever become hockey players and are good enough to represent their country. Zach Parise played for Team USA at the World Junior and he's the son of J.P Parise who represented Canada at the Summit Series. Heck, Brady Murry, the son of last year's Canada's coach at the World Championship also played for the USA.

The World Junior Championships, the World Championships and the Olympics are under IIHF (International Ice Hockey Federation) rules. Under those rules, starting from the WJCh, when a player plays for x country he has to stick to that country for the rest of his career, but I think they recently changed the rule allowing a player to swtch once in their lifetime. Evgeni Nabokov who played for Kazakhistan at the World Juniors was previouly not allowed to represent Russia at the Olympics and World Championships but under the new rules, is now allowed to play for Russia.

To make matters more confuseing, the World Cup (ex Canada Cup) is NOT under the IIHF rules. It is organized by the NHL and NHLPA and have different sets of rules that are more lenient. It doesn't matter what country a player represented before, he is allowed to play for x country as long as he is a citizen of or was a native of the country. That's why Peter Nedved who played for Canada at the '94 Olympics was able to play for the Czech Replubic at the '96 World Cup. He was not allowed to play for the Czech Replubic at the World Championships or other Olympics. At those events, he can only play for Canada.

what? petr neved canadian, where does that come from, oh well, but ya i have a bad feeling about the flames, i want them to win, but a bad feeling indeed, a really bad one. and ya the IIHF rules are all different from the nhl rules, and i think it's all by citizenship and why some players are born in foreign countries are that maybe their parents were in the canadian military or business trips. and plus some ppl don't want their kids to be american and instead canadian when they are canadians in america because they don't want their kids to go to military and fight for canadian citizenship, my friend is an example of this

anyhoo Regehr isnt playing in game 7? he wasnt at the morning skate and people seen him in a cast leaving the saddledome. its the play offs so they dont really tell you whats going on. but Donovan looks like he's gonna be able to play game 7.
